End of the High Elf Debate

Lole ok bud, nice redirect and dismissal. Very skilled forum post.

I hope this is true.

But yet we have 5 elf races to choose from, literally what?

you know, what if they just make a lore saying “some of the high elves joined the blood elves” and just add a skin tone, blue eyes whatever “high elves” had? i think this would prove that people just wanted blood elves on the alliance, not high elves being an allied race because i doubt these “pro high elves” people would be content with it.

Aight reread the entire thing. They mention the fall of Quel’Thalas once. Refering to Arthas breaching the defenses of Quel’Thalas and his march to the Sunwell. Which he succeeded at.

That is only referring to that point in history. The Blood Elves recovered their home. We sit in it now. We defend it now. Quel’Thalas is the land, our kingdom.

Like… Stormwind fell to the Orcs back in the First War… Do you think Stormwind isn’t a thing anymore?

Why are you arguing with him? Dudes clearly just trolling you.

The difference is, the blood elves changed everything to respect the fallen, this didn’t happen in the examples you have given.

Or hes truly not that bright. Probably as you say.

Ah. Yes it is that.

Finally some consensus.

This is not quite correct.

Veressa is indeed Exiled from Quel’thalas which is actually stated during the questing outside of Zul’Aman. The quote text can be seen between the Silvermoon Messenger and Hulduron.

Outside Zul’Aman

Silvermoon Messenger says: I bring word from the Regent Lord of Silvermoon.

Silvermoon Messenger says: Lord Lor’themar demands an explanation for the presence of this… exile in our lands.

Vereesa Windrunner says: Quel’Thalas is as much my home as it is yours and I would not see it fall to our ancient enemy. Now, you tell your cowardly regent –

Halduron Brightwing says: Vereesa, please!

Halduron Brightwing says: She is here at my invitation, courier. Most of my Farstriders are away and cannot be recalled easily. Vereesa’s rangers know the land and are experienced combatants.

Silvermoon Messenger says: Lord Lor’themar does not concur with your reasoning, ranger-general. You have no authority to invite this –

Halduron Brightwing says: I am the commander of Silvermoon’s defenses and I will seek assistance as I deem necessary!

Part of what makes Blood Elves interesting is that they control Quel’thalas and are the main population.

Part of what makes Alliance High Elves interesting is their exile status, and how they view the world apart from what was their homeland.

Quel’thalas is still in existence and will never fall again (does someone say this? I feel like it’s a voice line). Why would anyone dispute the existence of Quel’thalas it was not renamed. It’s people were. And the ones who weren’t are the ones people want to play on Alliance.

It would as Thalassian would be more like the Genus where Blood Elf, void Elf, High Elf, san’layn, etc would be the differing species. So Half-elf would still be Thalassian as it’s descended from it.

I still think that Scourge area in southern Ghostlands needs a nice large gothic castle full of allied playable San’layn

I root for San’layn. If they had an instanced place in Northrend and a teleport to Orgrimmar from there like a lot of these ARs do. But I’d rather not give them part of Quel’thalas even if they were once living High Elves/Blood Elves depending when they fell in battle.

They’d also be equal part human, so their Thalassian heritage wouldnt be dominant

That could work. I just think the old scourge base down there would be pretty fitting as well and maybe a sign of more inclusion as a Thalassian Elf compared to an outcast monster, guess it’d just depend on which way they wanted to go.

Yeah, I mean you don’t lose the ancestry of one parent because they married and had a kid with someone of another ethnicity. You’re just then made up of two ethnic groups. Neither heritage would really be dominant unless they were maybe brought up primarily in one and not the other. It’d still be there, they just wouldn’t know as much about it.

I couldn’t remember the name of it so had to look up a map…
Deatholme. Kind of a fitting name too :stuck_out_tongue:

They’ve stated from the very beginning that over time blood elves green eyes would fade back to their normal high elven color, so no It’s not a retcon.

It’s also explained that the sunwell is a mixture of holy and arcane energy, so it 100% makes sense and goes exactly with what they said before.

They literally never drank fel, dude, you’re thinking of orcs.

They could have a presence in the Eastern Plaguelands too. Maybe they set up to ensure a first defense before anyone gets close to Quel’thalas. Idk if Quel’thalas gets work done, I want it in full splendor glorifying Sin’dorei society.

I support High Elves also, but I also wouldn’t want to tie them to Quel’thalas if that makes sense.

In the case of the San’layn I could see them being protective of Quel’thalas like if they set up a castle in EK, or something but I don’t really want to tie them to it if that makes sense.

And especially Deatholme, should be torn down brick by brick, and be shown to be a monument of Sin’dorei culture, and a testament to the tenacity of the race.
