Silvermoon Messenger says: I bring word from the Regent Lord of Silvermoon. Silvermoon Messenger says: Lord Lor’themar demands an explanation for the presence of this… exile in our lands.
Ah yes, the one and only time vereesa, enemy of lorthemar. was called an exile and then NEVER again was called one.
Again, at no point were any of the high elves besides quel lithien exiled. No story supports it outside that one bit of quest text that was a one off.
Claiming the high elves were exiled doesnt work because that would mean even the high elves trapped on draenor or twisted nethers were exiled and that was never the case.
You have high elves literally going to the sunwell, and alleria being welcomed with open arms.
Yeah, Id agree with you if there was more than a single line when the rest of the story never claims the high elves as exiles or goes through the pains of saying they are welcome to come home.
Yeah, they do now. I was talking if Blizz made one of the other human factions into an allied race with a new model, as they did with Kul Tirans. This model doesn’t actually exist in game right now.
(Commentary): When I started playing WoW, I wanted to roll a male human mage. Unfortunately he looked like he bench-pressed his spellbooks rather than studied them. The newest humans, Kul Tirans, look like they might mistakening eat their spell books while riding around on their walmart scooters.
(Commentary): High Elves seen at the Sunwell were noted to be, ‘Pilgrims.’ As in, making a journey to a place, rather than going home. The High Elves may have been welcomed to visit the Sunwell, but there’s nothing indicating they’re welcome to move back to Quel’Thalas. Granted this is such an under-developed part of the Lore, and honestly, I don’t think Blizzard ever felt the need to go into depth before because there wasn’t as much of a buzz around it until Allied Races became a thing, and they missed the mark with Void Elves. Seriously. Why weren’t Void Elves just the Silver Covenant who followed Alleria somewhere?
None of them ever did aside from some of the sunfury.
The only fel the general populace came into contact with, was from the crystals that they used to power their buildings and facilities. The energy radiating out from those crystals is what turned their eyes green.
Elves who drank in fel energy turned into these. https://wow.gamepedia.com/Felblood_elf
The blood elves subsisted on mana drained from the wildlife around Quel’thalas. There was a faction of elves that abhorred this practice and started distancing themselves from the general populace. Eventually they were banished for causing social unrest, and started calling themselves high elves again.
The ones who did became fel elves and we took them out at the Sun Well.
The green eyes are from fel radiation. When the Sun Well was out of order fel was used to power reconstruction and the city defenses… which was surrounded by undead. The color change is more like a tan which devs stated would fade over time. I suspect that is why we see turquoise and teal eye options as well as blue.
Quel’thalas is the region around Silvermoon… The Eversong Woods and Ghostlands, the Isle of Quel’Danil. Its our homeland. Its not gone. Bit beaten round the edges but we’re here and we’re defending Quel’Thalas to this day…
