End of the High Elf Debate

(Commentary): I disagree. We’re getting a lot of customization like this with Shadowlands. Wildhammers and Bronzebeard Dwarves should also look different. Wildhammers are known to be taller and somewhat slimmer, a kind of Luigi compared to Mario thing. Sand Trolls and Forest Trolls should also look different from Darkspear Trolls, and yet Darkspear Trolls are getting customizations to look like that as well. I feel that your statement would hold more merit if the Shadowlands customizations didn’t make it a moot point.

Yeah…it’s tough creating an idea and then seeing it taken and used for the opposite faction.

I just want red draenei so I can hunt down all the elves…

Except for the fact that those customizations are still individuals who are within the same species of troll, dwarf etc etc.
Physiological differences are seen within the same group such as being taller or slimmer.

Your request is two different species to be under 1 umbrella which noone is doing.
Half elf is half elf, half anything else.
High elves are pure blooded, the two sre clearly different.

Why not just add an item in game with lore to make their eyes blue

What the Alliance need it’s not your business… dear corpse…

(Commentary): Not really? Half-Elves are the same species as High Elves, considering they’re descended from them. Saying they’re different species is like saying that Sand Trolls are a different species from other trolls because their blood has a gritty sand-like texture to it. I mean, you could argue Trolls shouldn’t be playable as anything other than Elf customization options, or vice versa, since they’re technically the same species as well, with different branches of evolution.

High elf mains MALDING and anyone who did the blood elf heritage armor quest already knew this was the case.

Yes really. Simply because you are derived from.something does not mean you are the same.
A chicken comes from the trex, that does not mean it is still classified as reptilian.
Half elves are their own thing, a blend, making them a new creature.
Just like ligers.

A sand troll is still a troll.
Night elves came from trolls but are far rekoved from them, like chickens and the teex. The logic does not make sense to claim otherwise because it is far too reductive.

(Commentary): And a liger is still a feline, like Lions and Tigers. Ergo, a Half-Elf is still an Elf, like their elven parent.

Did you ever consider that the blue eyes just might be for the dk?

Don’t be mad at me because you play fake High elves meanwhile us sophisticated wow players are going after High Gnomes and High Dwarves.

A liger is a feline, but it is not the species of tiger or lion.
A half elf follows the same rules. It may be part of the elf family, but it is not a part of the thalassian elf species.
Again, you are being reductive and your logic clearly is not applicable to a circumstances you attempt to push

lmao you wish

You’re evil … I don’t like you

As others have noted, blue eyes are just a tiny piece of the picture. If this is saying that high elves are now Horde, it fixes nothing because, well, they’re Horde. The entire point of the high elf requests is that they’re on a faction that a lot of people have no desire to play.

That ship has sailed unfortunately though, the Alliance is doomed to forever have only male models that are ape-like, blue-skinned, or tiny. We’re not allowed to have remotely normal looking male characters.

Low numbers didn’t bar void elves, mechagnomes, or even regular gnomes from creation. All of those are very tiny groups, especially void elves. Population has time and again been proven to not be a consideration for creating races.

For Quel’regan and Quel’forge, Elf

(Commentary): Not really? The most noted Half-Elf in-game is Arator the Redeemer, whom looks exactly like a High Elf. His human features don’t really show all that much in game. We’ve seen other Half-Elves using the human model, but it seems fairly clear that without a dedicated new model that Half-Elves would look like one or the other more predominantly. Half-Elves could potentially be their own Allied Race with a brand new model somewhere between Human and High Elf, but the margin between them is… virtually nothing when you get down to it. The two are already very similar. Since High Elves are the more requested race, and since we know Half-Elves can and do live with their Alliance High Elf relatives, it seems logical to include the customizations there.

I did. I’m not convinced we’ll get them yet. But I also wanted to see their pupils better so…
