probably said already but its almost like its a fresh new expansion and the market hasnt had 2-3 full seasons to flood the AH and tank the prices. enchanting is gonna be more expensive till enchanters get excessive amounts of stored mats and then enchant prices drop from undercutters, gems will drop in price once ore gets cheaper over time and more and more undercutters appear / more JC’s get knowledge to get T3 gems more.
region wide AH doesnt help with the problem. all the reagents and everything else thats linked make it so price changes arent as common and once the price is set its gonna take alot to lower it.
I just know anything needing a blacksmith is going to drain my bank. The tier 2 enchants and gems are pretty cheap and I pretty much just use them on my other characters.
It’s the start of a new expansion, everything is expensive at the start. Now is the time to make gold, you should join the party. The prices come down as the market becomes saturated, which will eventually happen as everyone gains knowledge points.
The players are too greedy. That’s the issue.

Has nothing to do with greed. It means other people are willing to pay such prices.
I don’t get this knee jerk instinct to blame everything on wow tokens. People have the same ability as anyone else to fly around and pick herbs and ore, and sell them on the AH.
We are also getting more gold from quest rewards, vendor trash, etc than we did last expansion, and that is true every time a new expansion comes out.
I have never felt the need to spend $20 on a wow token, and I have no plans to do so. If I find I’m running low on gold, I do things in game to generate gold.
People need to adjust for in game inflation. Certain herbs and ore are a couple hundred gold a piece this early in the expansion.
It’s the same song and dance every expansion. Pop a perception flask and go farm for a bit on a gatherer alt.
The guy is funny.
My 2 best player friends own my server economy…
Both play the auction machine and literally determine the prices for the entire server. They purchase every item by bot that doesnt fit the economy the repost it at the value they monitor.
These economically illiterate fools would argue with a plastic bag if it bad a walmart logo on it
I continue to make gold off alchemy myself
I feel like crafters should have ranks instead of materials. Do we need 3 ranks of ore? There’s so many crafting mats now it’s all a blur to me

not in the slightest is it player driven. its 100% blizzard driven. crafted weapons wouldnt be nearly 100k if blizzard didnt make a item required in so many things insanely rare. while it wasnt perfect professions were way better in dragonflight than it is now

That’s what I did. Just started pushing heroic AotC, won’t be going further than that R2 will be sufficient until prices for R3 is reasonable.
The lower ranks aren’t expensive.
Please dont touch gems, im not even a JC anymore but dont ruin it for JC.
JC have basically been getting shafted ever since they removed sockets from gear, and its been a struggle to make money beyond the first few weeks. Let them have this one.
the blame is on the tokens because its essentially p2w, while alot fly around and generate gold others can just swipe and get the same thing quicker ,it all ends up making more gold in the system and those that swipe dont care how much stuff costs so people put the prices up high to profit off the whales. before the token everything evened out after a while or remained high cos its lower drop rate.
plus with all the low drop rates for the rare things of course people gonna set em insanely high since its the start of a xpac and people will pay that

Pick up tailoring and sell the cloth you get. A single cloth sells for ~50g and you can get up to 20 (3-4 bolts) from a single enemy.
Nope. That’s not how this works.
So why can’t people sell things if the prices are high?
okay let me rephrase that, it makes more gold being used in the system, cos those that buy the tokens off ah for gametime or blizz balance are most likely sitting on millions not spending it so when the swiper gets the gold from selling his Real money token he then goes and spends it 75% of the time
just cos things are high people still have their limits on what they are willing to pay even if its gold from a token. the amount of swipers that dont care what they spend is alot less than those swipers who need a top up etc. so there would be stuff being at high prices just not insta selling out.
Some people might sell gold that’s just sitting around, but eventually that runs out. It may come as a shock to learn that people are making boat loads of gold doing a variety of things, and can buy gametime each month, or convert to battle.net balance.
To your second point, if price are high, people can sell those same things. Complain about tokens all you want, but it’s an opportunity to sell things and get a lot of gold in return.
Don’t blame tokens when in reality the “issue” is people are idle and not trying to make gold.
Heck, we made like 30k while leveling through the campaign on a single character. This expansion is flooding us with gold. And that is the real reason why prices are high. We are collectively generating tons of gold by playing the expansion.
I went to craft a weapon for my mage and the cheapest I can get (unless I can find someone who will use their concentration) with R3 mats is 70k gold worth of mats. That is if I do the caster staff… If I just do the sword (since I have a hero track off-hand), it’s 100k+!
Then, of course, everyone and their brother is going to want another 25k “tip” for pushing the craft button.
Although null stone will obviously become cheaper as expansion goes on, it is crazy that a 1 hour consumable requires a rare drop.
Also, it is ridiculous that patron orders require recipes that a player does not have, or rare and expensive mats.
Crafting this expansion has “buy WOW token” written all over it.
