They’re both creepy.
On the topic of people being report happy, I honestly sometimes view report features as a sort of placebo affect for people who genuinely cannot handle conflict or “adversity” and I put quotes around adversity because the problems of today are for the most part not what I would consider true diversity.
It’s a nice feature to have for legit issues and problems but for the most part I feel like it’s just there to be some kind of action someone can perform when they feel there is nothing else they can do. Just from the way people talk about reporting sometimes.
I also feel the same way about the notification that pops up when someone you report gets actioned. It provides NO details but informs you anyway. Some people want more info, like a follow up on people they report. I’m just like, why???
what metric does
ah. that explains so much.
How is battletag creepy?
My battletag is battlemaster
Go wild
I got it right in one guess.
I am all for the btag though.
I don’t think the number should be used as an excuse even though it’s there. People should be aware of who they are adding, but if they follow the format in the other forums, you wouldn’t be listed by character names at all, so there would be a lot of added protection there too.
Wonder how the forums would react to mine?
Mine is Dragula lol
Too cute!
Mine is Perdue, which means lost in French, not the chicken dude…
its not sunday yet
“Placebo affect”
I hear you. It’s all rather sad mostly.
Tbf if battletag were ever to be publicly seen on the forums (with the # hidden), blizz should offer free battletag rename
But then again, i also support ridiculing cringe and inappropriate 12 year old boy humour names
Include the numbers too.
ive heard it used for someone being lost but also for someone not being totally mentally there.

Actually the Devs could already see the player’s Real ID | Battle Tag, having it where most players could see the battle tags could commonly result in it being a tool for Sociopaths to create more bitter and resentful individuals; which guaranteed to have negative effects on the outside world such as more terrorist attacks in local areas.
As well as a tool used for stalking.
I actually have multiple times on the forums already The worse that happens is people send you a friend request and you don’t know who they are so you decline
Also
I don’t think # would have to be included, and blizz would make bank from the hardcore trolls paying for btag renames
Just a new day for those people. ME ME ME ME!
That’s what I feel is creepy; if they included the numbers. Heavens knows I’d get death threats.
Thanks for pointing this out. I am so sorry your parents misused the word on you. Hope you get the meaning without that hate at some point.
I used to frequent the OW forums where they use BattleTag and this wasn’t really the case there.
I have heard stories from individuals on the forums of people getting in-game hate mail because of stuff they said on the forums. While I have only ever received love letters myself, I still feel like BattleTag on the WoW forums would do more good than harm.
The only thing about that is, you can get death whispers in WoW now but if they only had your Btag, they’d have to send a request, you’d have to accept it, THEN they could send you death whispers.
