What makes you think I’m mad. I’m just telling you what is fun or not fun for me, what I’m going to do about it, and how that affects other players in the game.
Of course I remember and I remember many of us pointing out in the forums back then that one big reason it was so hard to find tanks and healers is people who didn’t like doing it with nerfed specs and decided not to because respec costs were too high.
I get that you like a MMORPG where you spend most of your time solo questing and care so little for dungeons that you’re cool that it can take hours to find a group. You do you. But there are many who like doing dungeons. It would be a lot easier to do them if there was dual spec and more tanks and healers
I’ve tanked a few dungeons on my hunter and healed for shaman and hunter tanks. I have no problem with that if people like to tank as hunter or shaman. But it shouldn’t happen because people are forced to do it because there aren’t enough tanks or healers when dual spec would make for more people tanking and healing
who said I don’t like dungeons? it actively bothered me that it would take an hour or two to find a full group sometimes. I was one of those people calling for Duel spec, and Looking for Group, and all of the other QOL upgrades that led to retail.
and then DS/LFG/LFR showed me to be careful what I wish for. I would rather now be inconvenienced finding a group and encouraged to interact with the community to do so, then to ever once again sit in a main city pressing a button to be spoonfed content with people I don’t know in dungeons in places that most people can’t point to on the map.
I welcome not being able to always do what I want. it makes those blues special again, it makes those groups special again, and it’s another reason to rely on one another in a community driven MMO
There is an healthy middle ground though.
Having something be too inconvenient is just as bad as having something be too convenient.
LFD and LFR were far more damaging to the social aspect of the game than dual spec was. LFD and LFR made your party and raid a group of faceless people you don’t interact with.
Dual spec doesn’t make communication optional like LFD and LFR does.
There is such a thing as being too careful in what you wish for, to the point where you might miss out on what could have been.
that’s fair, and ultimately i wouldn’t cry a river if DS was included, it would just be a shame to me for the reasons i’ve mentioned before about hybrid specs. it’s a change that would actively take something away from people who like playing in those builds while not really giving anything necessary to others. in the respect to PvP I see the need, in the respect to PVE… well… normals can, and have, been healed in hybrid, or even DPS specs with a second set of gear.
We all have changes we like and changes we don’t. I had no problem with LfD. While good for my healers it was an incredible improvement for my hunter and rogue. It could have been added without cross realm and blizzard didn’t have to nerf down the dungeons. We could have dual spec without being able to change specs anytime you’re out of combat. You could only change specs in a major city. It’s possible to make limited changes.
It’s like the boost. Blizzard could have made unlimited boosts with great starter gear. But it’s just one, Belfs and Dranei aren’t eligible, and the gear isn’t very good. I have no problem with it.
You have another game to play with all the features, and fun you could possibly want. Its called shadowlands, venture forth and enjoy the game that was made for you my friend.
For many years people like me didn’t have a game we could enjoy, now we do. You’re trying to change the game we fought for into the game we grew to hate. You are going to be met with a ton of resistence and vitriol. Just wait for Wotlk if you don’t like it.
If the only change to the game was dual spec and the LfD and in every other way it was like classic I would still be playing retail. I played from vanilla to BfA before I quit wow, at the time I thought forever, about a year before classic came out. It may be that the changes that caused you to quit were dual spec and the LfD but they weren’t the reasons I quit.
I don’t care. I don’t have a problem with people advocating for the changes they want. I’ll agree or disagree. I’ll join those advocating for the changes I want.
Dual-spec is not a quality of life change. It’s actually a gameplay shift because classes would be able to re-spec anywhere in-game, which is not possible now.
I enjoy Classic - and this is strictly my opinion - precisely because of mechanics such as single spec characters because it is part of the value equation I bring to the open world, dungeons, and raids. It helps makes me distinct vs. cookie cutter.
Can the people that don’t want changes have a server without them? I don’t care what changes people want but I wanted to play TBC classic, not retail with less content.
Honor isn’t correct
Boomkins are SHREDDING STUFF… Like?? They were literally a meme in bc
Enhance is melting faces rn.
I played these classes in bc and even leveling up you did NOT blow stuff up as a boomy like they’re right now.
They allowed the Honor capped people who took advantage of the honor bug to keep their honor so we already have fully resili geared 70s wrecking people.
Tons of stuff that changed bud.
DUAL SPEC is a QOL change that makes MORE tanks available. It’s not going to negatively effect anyone, most people don’t want to tank anyways.
