Don’t wait a year to fix something 99% of us want. Its a QOL change.
Lets not wait a year to fix this like you did with Spell batching.
Also you guys forgot to remove leeway, this isnt 1997.

I highly doubt you speak for 99% of the player base.
99% of people want this?
Come back during Wrath.
the forums is actually a small representation of the actual WoW population
I’m personally for dual spec even if it wasn’t in original TBC. I get the whole #nochanges thing, but… come on now. We all know dual spec was a good change and highly requested feature back in WotLK.
And you can be excited for wotlk when it comes out. Something to be excited for in the future. Instant gratification not needed.
Wall of nope. Dual spec devalues me as a tank, don’t like it? play a tank.
Wait WAIT WAIT!
How are so many people against dual spec in this thread? 99% of all players want it!!! Everyone should just be loving on OP
Edit- /s.
Me no want. Add that to your data.
I definitely do not want this, felt obligated to comment because you’re claiming to speak for me.
It’s not that everyone is against it, it’s the sense of entitlement that the title implies. There were a lot of QoL features that Wrath introduced that more accurately represent what people wanted from “classic” servers. BC will forever remain as my favorite expac because of the nostalgia - but I can’t imagine playing a version of this game without at least 1/2 of the QoL features that were introduced between then and MoP. Addons do provide some of them, but they can’t give you dual specs or flexible raid groups. The biggest flaws of BC revolved around losing players to latest tier raiding guilds, crushing the ability of the smaller guilds to complete the end game. Dual speccing to allow players to learn new roles and smaller sized raid groups would have helped tremendously.
Eh, I actually think a fair number of people are against it, myself included. It definitely devalues players who choose certain roles. Role choices just mattered a lot more in TBC than they do in the current game, and I like that.
Even as someone who would like dual spec for the ease it brings, I gotta admit this is an important argument. I think dual-spec would be best for something like BGs and Arenas only maybe, because it was the first step in many to destroy the character+spec identity that classic built upon so much.
I don’t think Dual Spec is really a good solution. It potentially creates enough of a change that it could affect gameplay for many people, and it would require relatively significant coding changes.
A different approach, such as reducing respec fees to max-out at say 50 silver, like they did on the Beta could help to remove the discouragement that a 50 gold respec fee seems to have, and also (depending on how the codebase has been developed) may not even require any coding changes, just a configuration setting.
It is a fair argument sure, but it’s not as bad as it sounds. A secondary spec being tank won’t have more value than a main spec tank that has the gear, enchants and gems.
You have to consider the arguments for dual spec as well.
People who wants to PvP basically can’t have any gold because of this.
You bieng a shaman devalues you as a tank wtf you mean?
Reducing it that much would just be the equivalent of having dual spec except more annoying.
This is the exact same argument blizzard is currently making for why conduit energy is a good system, and gear in bfa was a good idea. Because they believed it would add back in that identity. Are you secretly a blizzard employee?
Here is why you are wrong, I will simply just walk around with two sets of gear, just like I did in bfa with the correct enchants and gems. All you have done is created a demand for me to have two sets of T4 where that demand would have otherwise not existed, I will have the same value either way (DPS | Tank) but if dual spec doesn’t exist then I wont have the same value.
I am pretty sympathetic towards PVP’ers dealing with this issue because PVP is a different animal than PVE. I personally would have no problem with people being able to swap specs in Arena or Bg’s only.
Spend gold and respec?
