Still bugged 5/30/2020, didnt nuke down bosses, they went through there phases, tried coming back over the next few days, tried leaving and re entering, tried reset, he just stands there wanting me to accept the quest or turn it in, cant get further
Just bugged out for me. This should be easy for Blizzard to fix.
Same as everyone else. I have two shortcut quests in progress with Malfurion. I left the instance, reset, tried again, and no dice. Left again, invited someone without the quest, reset, converted to raid, ran all the way back inside, still no option to open the portal. No option for the second person either. I agree with the person above me, it should be easy to fix. Not being able to complete a quest should be pretty high up on their list of things to get fixed.
zzz @ this. Two year old bug.
Also, futilely running in and out of this instance is the most tortured thing.
Still happening 6/4/2020
Just a note from the generic other sideâŚ
If we canât give steps that consistently reproduce the behaviour AND include all variables involved with the problem, there arenât a lot of devs in any environment who will be able to IDENTIFY the issue, let alone resolve it.
Iâve been having the same problem for a whileâŚsolo. I brought in a few other people, and it was fixed. I donât have the resources to determine the differencesâŚI suspect itâs something to do with the quest for the bypass.
But until Blizzard actually has a dev work interactively with a user who can report problems in a way that a dev can understand, getting something like this fixed is going to be near-impossible.
Random, imprecise users with their guesses at what the problem is (including me), are less than helpful, but I invite everyone having the problem to keep track of exactly what you do that week, then bring someone in with you in group that does NOT have the skip quest, and then if that doesnât make it show up, bring them from the beginning.
If youâre having a problem getting to Centarus and you HAVE no quests from MalfurionâŚlet me know, as this doesnât seem to be documented behaviour to me.
I may have found a fix:
I went in with two people, marked as raid, in Heroic. We cleared trashed, didnât nuke down any boss, and did the first 4 in a clockwise rotation. We let each boss cast at least one of their abilities each and on each dpsâed them in accordance to an actual raid. When we left Ilâgynoth, Mal was approachable and sent us to Cen. Before I went in Solo and nuked them in Norm and Heroic and couldnât get the Iris to open so I have duplicated the problem. I think the bug is something to do with some mechanics requiring at least two people like Elerethe.
On Nythendra we let both of us get hit with poison.
On Elerethe we had her do two phases to include the link.
On Ursoc, we both were marked.
On Dragons we let all of them have their bit of time up
On Ilâgynoth we nuked the eyes, and aggroed the globs while auto attacking the boss. After access to the heart we autoâd him down.
Hope this helps.
The steps youâve listed sound like youâre trying to get a time-consuming legacy achievement. The reward is being able to complete the raid.
Almost 3 years to fix a bug that can be solved with 3 to 5 lines of code by just checking if the 4 bosses have been downed whenever you reenter the instance and if Malfurion isnât channeling⌠Uh⌠Make him do that.
This worked for me
After running into the issue I came here to the forums to see what was up and I am appalled that this has been a problem for SO LONG and nothing is being done. Even after they introduced the Legacy loot rules to Legion dungeons/raids, they didnât touch this bug with the Cenarius fight. I really miss the old Blizzard.
Iâm shocked thereâs no legacy fix for this. Happened to me this week, but not last. not sure what changed.
Just happened to me. All four wings cleared, logged out to go get supper, now the portals are closed and the Iris wonât open no matter what.
I determined I would go try Balance of Power questline on all of my alts. My priest, the only one who decided to pick up the quest from Malfurion before clearing the bosses, was not able to open the flower to get to Cenarius, as Malfurion is indeed ignoring me.
I highly suspect that obtaining the quest is at play in my instance, as others have blasted the bosses down far faster than my priest did and the only difference is that no other character took up the quest.
So I have abandoned the quest and will attempt again on Tuesday. As it takes more than one week to get all of the Essences for the quest, Iâm not overly bothered, but it can indeed slow things down if youâre expecting to get to the final two for a transmog piece.
Hope this helps someone.
Additionally, Iâm just realizing that my priest did the bosses in a different order as well, due to needing to get a few pieces of gear to get through Ursoc. usually I would go in a clockwise direction from Ursoc to the right. That was the only time I didnât and then did Ursoc last.
This has happened to me a few times. Today it happened and I noticed that I could not re-enter Ilâgynothâs zone. I could re-enter all of the other zones.
I was on Heroic 10 man, on a 120 Priest. I cleared from Ilâgynoth to Ursoc, spending too much time in Eleretheâs zone to get Webbing Crashers. I tried leaving the dungeon, resetting all instances, exiting the game and coming back. I even set it to Normal 10 man and killed Nythendra. Malfurion sill did not open the iris. I hope this helps QA.
As posted by Vintari:
if you kill Elerethe Renferal too fast (or some other unknown reason) the entrance to her room stayed gated and you canât leave unless you hearth.
On heroic, as suggested by another post, the order was Nythendra -> Elerethe -> Ursoc -> Dragons -> Ilâgynoth and it FINALLY let me go to Cenarius. For everyone having trouble, give this a try.
I just did a heroic run, and paid attention to both of these. In particular, I waited long enough on Elerethe for her to go aloft, and then transition to Phase 2. I also used the advised order. Malfurion opened the iris no problems at all.
Iâll be doing a load more experimentation on alts to check whatâs what, to see if I can track down the exact problem that causes failure.
Checking in to say that this is still very much a problem on 7/29, just happened to me this morning
Happened to me today
August 8, 2020. First five bosses are dead (killed as quickly as possible in random order). Can not progress to Cenarius.
