Thank you so very much for sharing this. I ran this today on 10m Heroic (2/19/2020) and the raid was bug-free! I don’t know if this helped any, but I also took care to steadily kill the bosses instead of super-nuking them. This has helped in the past and MAYBE helped during today’s run.

Those of you who take care not to kill bosses too fast are definitely onto something. When i killed the spider boss without letting him get to his final phase of going up top, the way back to the portal bugs out and i can’t get back. Once i hearthed and went back into the instance, the Iris would never open up. The spider boss may be the key to this whole thing. Don’t nuke these bosses!

Still bugged, ran it with my dad earlier, order we did it was eye, dragons, spider, bear.
This is still bugged. How the hell are you letting this go on for this long? I tried it on normal and heroic this week and I can not get to the last 2 boss. Fix your game Blizzard. How is this at all acceptable in a game we pay for?

Happened to me today…
FWIW, I just ran it on normal without issue on my Druid main. Cleared the early bosses counter clockwise. 1st time solo, but had 2 clears in Legion.
I still had the quest “The Emerald Nightmare: Piercing the Veil” so I was 2/4 on the essences needed to unlock the skip. When I looted Cenarius, this time it actually dropped 4 (looted 2) & completed the quest.

Did the quests and got the essence. Just can’t turn in because no option. Please advise.
This raid is still bugged. Resetting the instance does not work.
I have completed this raid solo before. I think the reason why it isn’t allowing me to complete it now is because I ran it on two separate days. I would recommend completing the instance with one run. Don’t leave the instance until you kill all the bosses and don’t bring in a friend to help with a certain boss; Ursoc I am looking at you.
When I contacted a GM about this issue, this was their reply:
The issue with Malfurion ignoring players is currently known to us and it is yet to be addressed by the developers at the moment.
Though Game masters do not have the power to bend the design of the game (fix bugs), we may be able to provide workarounds to some cases. However, currently we do not have temporary solutions to Malfurion’s bad manner. :
The only known way to reliable reset him is with the weekly raid reset.

I forgot to come back and say I figured it out. I had ran Heroic and went back in to try to turn it in to Malf there but couldn’t, so I did normal and found I was able to turn it in there. So I did. Case solved.
still bugged 4/14/20
This happened to a friend, but we were able to “fix” it by having me start a new run that they joined. Re-cleared the first 5 bosses and it opened.

I did this in two separate goes so I could switch specs and grab my other gear which I forgot to bring, aaaaaand it bugged. So beyond annoyed as literally the only reason I’m running EN is for a chest piece that Cenarius drops… All that time killing the other bosses for nothing!!!
So I was able to do him twice in 2 days. The first solo attempt he bugged out. I left, came back a few times. He finally let me below. The second day when I went back in, everything was already dead. I joined a party with a friend who didn’t go in with me. I made him leader and the instance reset for me and this time I did the bosses starting on the left side going clockwise. Both times I cleared Cenarious, he left a chest covered in vines so I couldn’t open. I went down to Xavius, killed him. It then took me to the Emerald dream but no Life essence to be found anywhere.
update. I just set my raid to heroic. I cleared everything and got all the loot and the purified essences. I did grab the quest before starting the bosses. I followed the boss rotation of Elerethe Renferal, Dragons of nightmare, Ursoc and finally Il’gynoth. I didn’t blast the bosses down (couple of thrashes and auto attack) to let them go through a couple of phases. What I didn’t see previously was Malfurions chat and run down to Cenarion. I still haven’t done this in normal which is what I need for the quest.
this seems to be an intermittent bug. bugged out on heroic when i killed a few bosses, left the instance and came back to finish another day. not being on the shortcut quest seems to help (n=1) - i went back to do it on an alt i did not accept the quest from malfurion, killed bosses from left to right, and had no issues getting to cenarius.
Glad that this is STILL an issue. They really don’t give a damn about old content, huh? I’ll have to wait nearly a week to continue doing Balance of Power. 10/10, wouldn’t recommend.

Still a problem. I’ve done all the recommended steps to fix this (raid reset & 30 second wait) … killed bosses in a specific order … and the result is always the same. Malfurion won’t open the portal. Please fix this Blizz!
