Devs would find a way to make it complex. You arent getting super easy mechanic dungeons just like that with good rewards.
Blizzard needs to understand that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. A system this complex for the end user canât be good. Less is more.

Let loot tiers/tracks be upgradeable so the terrible loot rng doesnât kill peopleâs will to play. Iâve legit never seen a ragefeather drop this season. Only seen 4 whetstones drop after however many COS keys Iâve run. Pretty sure I can tank NO in my sleep now.
This was the upside to âdegenerateâ low key valor farming. We could blast the dungeons that much quicker, and in some cases have enough valor stored up by the time the item actually dropped to upgrade it to a useful level.
Overlooking that obvious problem is typical Blizz. Donât be typucal Blizz, be better.

Why oh why must you make everything soooooo complicated? If you replaced âshadowflame crest fragmentsâ with âvalor fragmentsâ your system would look, feel and be so much better and simpler.

Just have raid gear be upgradable like m+ gear was. Thatâs all you needed to do⌠but instead you create this ridiculously convoluted system?

i made an entire post about this to remind the devs on the ptr forums. They waste tons of time duplicating work that doesnt need to done instead of engaging in minor tweaks to systems thats already exist and function well. Valor easily could have been perfected instead of throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
The problem is step 3.
Everyone espousing the merits of this new system seems to overlook step 3 is the problem that never gets solved.

Like literally do anything and you will get gear, and that gear will now be able to be upgraded.
look at it like this
- choose what content you want to do
- get the currency
- use the currency specific to that content and upgrade.
ex:a. I plan on may 2-8th⌠main questline⌠( i will tryto complete it with get your 8 done )
b. as soon as may 9th hits⌠( if there no delays) im jumping right into normal/heroic raids(10/25)âŚ
c. then upgradeâŚ(btw) your dont have the gear this wayâŚ
d. do the weekly and world quests on the side
e. my ultimate goal get to ilvl 441 on or before season 3âŚ
here the breakdown;(RAIDS)
LRF RAID=VETERN=402-411
NORMAL=CHAMPION=415-424
HEROIC=HERO=428-434
LFR=WHELPLINGCREST
NORMAL=DRAKES CREST
HEROIC = WRYMS CREST.
YOU WILL NEED MIN 4 CREST TO UPGRADE ONE PIECE

I figured âgear you wantâ was understood. The Whetstone and the Icon youâre using â if instead you just got random trinkets from all that content you listed youâd be fine upgrading those? And not caring about trying to get the trinkets you actually want?

I donât think itâs really needed tbh.
Obviously anything from m+ can be farmed.
Hunting a specific raid piece can be challenging but it will actually be easier in season 2 considering you could get it from a lower difficulty and upgrade it which wasnât possible in season 1.
I just want a solution to the problem of running tons of dungeon instances for a single piece. Just curious, how many times did you run CoS before you got that whetstone? Did you get it at a low key and valor it to 415, or get it from the vault?
Idr exactly cause I got it pretty early on.
I know Iâve passed on a couple in vault since I already had it.
Had it drop for me and traded it a couple times.
In total Iâve probably seen like 6-9 of them over the course of the season.
Its a simply system that you people are making overcomplicated for no reason. Itâs a system that is used in many mmoâs and has been used for decades.
I welcome the change. I hated having the funds to upgrade gear but not the idiotic rating because the rating system is locked down to meta builds.
Why insist on copying the worst parts of FF14?
Am I reading this as alts have reduced need for the currency if your main is a higher item level? If so, that is a nice boost to alts.
Some employees need to justify their existence on their workplace hence this upgrade system.
