when ppl are voicing their opinion, try to not shut them down and rub your own ideology to their face, once again, low drop rate is a code written in the game’s program and to me it is a waste of time for that number they input in the code to be so low, period
You didn’t say RNG in that sentence but We were talking purely about RNG drops and how that works. I was talking about how you need a massive alt army just for more attempts and how it’s a bad approach for rewards. the whole conversation was about RNG. Remember all started with your 1% approach as a minimum drop %.
you don’t need an alt army… you don’t need to get these things. they are merely cosmetic.
yeah i do
i also said
not everything needs to be obtained very quickly.
some things in the game are meant to be rare and i think that’s a good thing.
do you have any evidence to prove that this is how blizzard generates the drop rate?
and do you have any evidence that it is easy for blizzard to change when they want?
that’s like saying: the sale price of a Rolls Royce is too high - the manufacturer sets the price and can easily change it so that i can buy it today instead of having to save up money and earn it.
That’s your point of view, there’s different gameplay styles, I’m a collector, so that’s my main goal in the game. besides that, each player has a different approach to RNG, using an alt army is optional but its an advantage over other players regarding chances for a drop.
True, not everything can be acquired quickly, that doesn’t change the fact that every player will try different things, like doing X attempts compared to other players or even using multiple accounts…etc
Rare doesn’t mean the same for a players or another, there’s not a define value, I can say that Invicible mount isn’t rare because its part of a boss that I can kill 60 times per week , BMAH and drop from 15th anniversary event…Was it more rare before BMAH and anniversary? Probably for some players.
Same with other mounts, if the acquisition method change from a patch to another, then different players will set a value that won’t match other players value.
At the end my main point is that RNG isn’t difficult…
invincible did not drop from the 15th anniversary - that is obsidian worldbreaker - the deathwing mount.
i never said RNG was difficult, i said it is good for some things to remain rare.
cosmetic items that don’t affect someone’s player power progression - perfectly fine to have very low drop rate. i would say lower than 1% is probably a bit much but 1% seems perfectly fine.
items like fyralath which directly affects the player power progression of eligible classes - should be deterministic looting.
not everyone needs to be on the same field for farming cosmetics… if someone really wants it, they can use multiple characters to increase their chances… if they just want to farm it casually as a side activity, that’s fine too.
Why the heck did it take you this long to figure it out that stupid low droprates on something around which you have tuned the entire class would just make players frustrated? Especially when that item requires an entire raid team to attempt to get it and the rest of the raid team is kinda done?
Moreover, the insult in increasing the drop rate NOW is the season is basically done. Anyone getting that thing now is getting it just to say they got it. It’s too late for them to actually, you know, get to USE it for anything important.
Oh, right. Because you think that pure RNG luck is a “display of excellence” as opposed to just plain DUMB LUCK. I’ve seen players walk in once and get it and I’ve seen players kill the thing every damn week, week after week after week, with nothing to show for it. DUMB LUCK IS DUMB.
It was another option, as you mentioned before, We don’t know the code…maybe it was a better drop % from that event. Besides considering drop %, the event was a LFR that required less time compared to doing ICC, therefore; some players can say that these mounts have more value before that event.
Then rare value from a cosmetic will differ from 1 player to another when RNG is involve, you already said it, using multiple alts provides better chances, Devs could allow other players to do the same activity without requiring alts, like removing the lockout.
