Lol, no it’s not. When it comes to storytelling, FFXIV is leagues better than WoW, with actual payoff rather than kicking the ball down the street with “Wait and see” BS
That game’s story discussion doesn’t devolve into petty faction sniping 100% of the time as factions aren’t a thing beyond the minimal pvp side mode where everyone’s on the same side doing training exercises.
That’d be amazing
I’m fine with that but rather than the ion cannon fantasy, a more realistic scenario would feature Our Dark Lady replacing Elune as the NE’s patron diety.
Unclear, though I would assume that, given the quests to rescue them, no. We don’t have exact numbers for the victims of the Burning beyond the quest to rescue people that has about… 900 or so.
Like you said that’s because there are no factions. The faction everyone plays is basically the Alliance. It’s even called the Alliance frequently.
And from what i heard they will include stormblood and shadowbringer when endwalker is out.
So, sending minions. Okay. But Not coming themselves, or waving a magic wand and changing Azeroth from afar, correct?
Elune’s minions are already present on Azeroth. Her son leads them.
Pretty sure we could spin a “Elune puts a moon bubble over her temple and anyone in the burning tree that makes it into the temple is safe from the raging fire and smoke.”
Maybe even have smoke blow away from the roads leading to the temple.
So not everyone survives but the NEs are not wholly abandoned neither.
“Could she have stopped the fire” is a pointless argument to have - if Blizz wanted her to do it, it would have been well within her power.
My position tends to be that we should believe what’s on the screen. She clearly blames herself for what happened! She literally says that SHE condemned them to the Maw! What was that line about if she had no influence over their deaths?
Not just that, but seemingly also obliterated since we aren’t saving them
Yup exactly
Elune is the worst thing in the story 20 years running, it’s actually impressive.
My understanding is that Elune “didn’t start the fire,” on account of the fact that “it was always burning while the world’s been turning.” That said, I think that even though she didn’t light it, she should try to fight it.
can elves and undead be their own factions separate from horde and alliance again pls ty
Honestly, I wish Night Elves could just be allowed to be Night Elves. Without having their cultural identity subject to ruin and erasure.
You’ll never get it.
This is not merely the last nail in the coffin. The coffin has already been buried. This is them etching the tombstone - and covering it with graffiti.
Well Night Elves are extinct now with no zones left and their souls obliterated so…
they can’t.
…You know this isn’t true. There are plenty of actual, genuine reasons to be mad about what’s going on, you don’t need to keep making up crap like this.
