That assumes she could stop it. Elune has always had alot of limitations. I mean she has never directly participated in event in Azeroth, even against the Legion.
Yeah if anything the cinematic confirms a majority of the souls were in fact saved.
Just to recap guys.
A few months ago we were all mocking the NE doom sayers about the Sylvanas showdown that would give some justice to NE players.
It didn’t.
Then we were assured that its not over and there is an Elune cinematic that would address the many questions and concerns.
It didn’t.
So… who’s going to be the first to apologize to the NE doom sayers that are accused of not giving unknown content the benefit of a doubt?
Now the jokes that the Horde will get away from genocide and Sylvanas will be redeemed memes are materializing, while when BFA was in full swing these opinions were regarded as pointless doom mongering… turns out its all true lol.
What about it?
They were killed in the amount that there are so few left that they’re basically extinct now and can’t have a future. They also don’t have zones to settle. The souls that could’ve been revived and used to build a future but instead they were obliterated, and Elune seems to care very little about them.
It doesn’t at all? It proves the opposite, the souls never reached Ardenweald, thus the Jailer got them and forged them into weapons.
Edit: Writing is hard when you’re so mad…
Want to have a “hot take”?
Do you remember how before BfA release there were those talks about “who could set the tree™ on fire”?
Even the regular ancients (walking trees I mean) are hard to burn down.
From the BfA pre-patch:
Killer Queen
quest
Lady Sylvanas Windrunner says: When I sent you on this mission, I did not foresee this outcome.
Lady Sylvanas Windrunner says: Our attack was meant to end a war before it began…
So, why the tree went on fire so fast?
Yup. As usual with WoW (lately), this story is not as bad as people might think. It’s arguably even worse.
gl hf
They are no more extinct than Gnomes, draenei or blood elves. A good chunk of civilians managed to escape. Did you know Arthas was vindictive enough that he SANKS BOATS FULL OF/MOST OF THE CHILDREN of Silvermoon.
By comparison we know many night elf children managed to escape(and yes many others were killed as well)
Those races still have a future in WoW atleast and are still part of the setting…
Considering the cinematic’s entire theme is “renewal” it is clear the night elves will someday get back on their feet.
How exactly with their souls obliterated and no zones left to settle and writers that hate them?
Not a day after Blizzard released a cinematic where they confirm the Night Elves are Elune’s favorite children, and Ardenweald is their own special afterlife, and Tyrande and Elune cry a shared tear to save their Afterlife…
lol if my crappost theory about Ardenweald mass-rezing the Nelves and restoring Teldrassil + Primus cleaning Undercity and supporting the Forsaken as the end of Shadowlands (because Winter Queen and Primus are best friends, recall)
man
I think the more likely route is that all the dead Nelves get stuck in bodies that look like Ardenweald Satyrs and become an allied race.
Are they?
I am uneducated in regards to this lore.
Tell me more.
The Stonewright calls him an “old tyrant.”
Yeah in the quest where you give the Winter Queen the letter of the Primus, she calls him her dear friend and how she misses him and what not.
Then immediately after she’s like “Oh right Denathrius is good for anima extraction, go to that guy”. Zero affection.
Correction, maybe saved. At this point I expect most night elven souls(as well as other souls) are still in the Maw and we still need to solve that little problem.
The cinematic seemed pretty neat. Pretty huge confirmation that night elves are some of the most favored if not the most favored of the entities of the cosmos.
Every single time I experience new SL lore I think I couldn’t possibly hate lore more, and then even newer lore comes out and the hate goes deeper.
genocide is kinda bad but seeking retribution for genocide is worse, forgive and forget time for renewal baby
Uuuuuh, take a quick visit to her WoWpedia page, and you will see a long list of divine interventions.
I would honestly rather have erevien be the lead story narrator or whatever than this stuff continuing.
And for all her divine intervention is was still the various races of Azeroth that had to push back the Legion and do the bulk of the work.
Usually she need a medium like Tyrande to actually unleash her power.
