Elixir of Tongues Is Spit In The Face of OCE Players

That thread he linked links to the capped thread.

THIS! Right here!! For you people saying “oh I dont they are ignoring you because you are not in the US”

I guarantee you that if Blizzard made an intentional change to a system that did not effect anyone else but US players, it would have people working on it straight away to change it.

Blizzard made this change knowing full well the consequences it would have on immersion, gameplay and the calendar and went ahead with it any way and then after the usual copy pasted answer with same lame non-excuse that was it. They were done with us.

Dont pretend for one second that Blizzards disregard for us isnt largely because its the OCE community.

yes alot of bugs go unchanged but this change, changed the way the game was played for EVERY SINGLE OCE PLAYER!

And they have done nothing to fix it or even let us know if its something they intend to fix.

I already stated above when answering another person that my knowledge on the Day and Night thing isn’t exactly that large, so my knowledge on them breaking the cycle wasn’t actually there. Which I apologize upfront, however are you not asking for a potion to make things daylight? If so, that isn’t the solution you’re looking for at all. If anything Blizzard should actually fix the cycle that they already broke, not simply make something that will temporarily solve your issue.

Regardless, I’ve never once stated that it shouldn’t be something that you people get, I simply state that it’s hard to feel bad when you put your argument the way you did, and that I’m sorry this isn’t something you guys have yet to get fixed regardless.

Such big hopes :frowning: never change sir.

Look, I get it you’re upset over it. But seriously, OCE weren’t the only ones that got their Day/night cycles broken.

When I started on TB, it was a Central server. After the realm connections, it’s now a west coast server. I live on the East coast. I haven’t seen the night cycle since then. :rainbow:

That should still be something you’d like fixed too .

So you offer an opinion on a topic you know nothing about?

Blizzard always work on compromise. Will the potion fix everything? No. Its the simplest solution to fix the constant darkness of night we have to play.

Its a compromise that is better than nothing.

But nothing is all we have at the moment.

But just the ability to be able to play in game daylight would make the game just that much more enjoyable.

And it would actually benefit some people in the US who only get to play late at night.

I would love for them to change the system and revert our calendar and our events all that back to what it used to be, but that will NEVER happen. I can handle that. But a simple potion that does the opposite to a potion that already exists, thats not too much to ask for.

"sooo because they added something in the game that helps some people, it’s a spit in the face to you?

strange way of thought"

Lets say you’re homeless. You go into a shelter. You ask for food. They say we can’t right now, but we’re listening. You go in every day, you’re starving. They say no, they ignore you, weeks go by.

Then one day some new person walks in, asks for food, and instantly they come out with a banquet, every food you could imagine.

You wouldn’t consider that a spit in your face?

soooo wouldnt a potion that lets you turn night to day benefit you? Give you the option to play in a zone in the daylight when you choose.

Isnt player choice a good thing?

I’ve never seen anywhere where I couldn’t place my opinion regardless of whether I know nothing or not, simply because I don’t agree with the way you word something doesn’t mean I can’t later be educated on what you’re advocating for and still disagree with the way you word it.

Also, the “simplest solution” is okay and all, but that isn’t something you should be aiming for what so ever. If you want your cycle to be fixed, then you should advocated for it to be fixed fully, not some compromise in the way of a potion. That seems a bit silly to me, but again that’s just me. As I stated multiple times, I never said this isn’t something you shouldn’t get. I don’t condone the way Blizzard doesn’t communicate or do anything about MULTIPLE bugs but it isn’t JUST OCE that they don’t listen to at all either.

And again, aside from everything I get that a compromise may be okay and all for you, but again if you’re going to want something to be fixed I think it’s completely justifiable to want the thing to be permanently fixed not temporarily fixed. That’s just settling, and settling isn’t something anyone should ever do, especially a game they pay for.

Every time I’ve been grouped with USians and they’ve ended up on my server they complain about the ping.

But it wasn’t. It was a response to you saying that it would be jarring for the day/night cycle to switch every time (it wouldn’t BTW) due to CRZ. Having to play in a night-time setting while being in the day is quite jarring as well as the calendar being out all the time. It’s why games actually have day/night set to the local time when possible.

Well, still not really my issue, is it? People complain about stupid things sometimes. That’s just people as a whole, but on an individual level, that isn’t always the case.

Yes, yes it was. You misrepresented my position and argued against that instead of what I said. That is textbook strawman argument.

This is not exactly on topic, but thats what that addon was doing as well. Literally autoblocking all OCE servers because US players didnt want lag.

Thats why it was broken.

Good. I didn’t like that addon, and was glad to hear that it was broken.

Settling is the best we will ever get. Ive played long enough to know that Blizzard wont do the right thing. Have a look at flight. They tried to take it away and instead of doing the right thing and giving it back, they held it hostage behind crappy time gated rep grinds and arbitrary achv hunting.

Blizzard are like children, they hate being told they are wrong and they will very rarely ever admit they were.

I know this, you know this, we all know this. Asking them to revert a change to a system they intentionally changed with no explanation would be like asking Bethesda to stop releasing shoddy broken games and relying on the community to mod them to make them work.

It will never happen.

I can fix it, by purchasing a ton of character transfers to a Central or East coast server. But I can’t. I’ve established myself on TB/SH/FS and I would be gimping myself to start all over again. :rainbow:

Not saying player choice here is wrong, just like the Potion in your OP isn’t wrong since it’s available to everyone. Its an Option.

I personally, just do not care about it. There are, in my mind, more important issues with the game then for me to get upset over the lack of Night cycle.

But will say, a Potion for Day and Night Cycles could help everyone, not just OCE players. And this is the ticket you should be selling. :rainbow:

I think you’re assuming I’m an Oceanic player and this is something I’ve been asking for - I am not and I haven’t. Nor did I say anywhere that I had a problem with the potion or cross faction communication. My comment was on what the OP brought up in regards to how Blizz has or hasn’t responded to 2 different things they broke, intentional or not. And how frustration results when players are ignored. And how people assume things

Hardly. If we allow ourselves to settle then the games just going to continue to displease us as a result. Rather than settling you should continue to fully advocate for what you want permanently rather than temporarily as I’ve stated before.

That said, they have stated they were wrong plenty of times, as seen with Ion during multiple Q&A’s, and it’s clear they do listen to the player base to an extent. Again, just not as much as we - the player base - would actually like. Which, is a problem and I completely agree with this entirely. It can most definitely be annoying, and should be worked on to improve to some degree that they seem to struggle with from time to time.

As for the flying thing, they stated before that they hated the fact that they brought flying into the game because it allows us to simply ignore all of the things they want us to interact with in the first place. They wanted us to actually go through the zone, experience everything and all that jazz. They did put work into those places after all, so that is understandable. As a compromise however, they put it through the pathfinder business that isn’t exactly liked by many. I personally don’t care for it, but this is an entirely different topic that doesn’t pertain to this discussion at all.

My point regardless is that settling is still not okay when it comes to things like this. If your situation was to ever get addressed, it should be addressed in full.

It’s “slap in da face,” silly.

Rastlin beat you to this hours ago, Yaya. >.>

Why people hate the dark? It when all fun stuff happens… well in my realm at least. day light no one around. night everyone here. I agree too much is not a good thing.
