You mean actually giving casuals high ilvl gear? That would kill boosting dead in it’s tracks and I would welcome it so much. Unfortunately Blizzard profits from boosting so they’ll never put an end to it.
All they need to do to kill boosting is reward casuals with at least heroic ilvl gear. I’m all for it.
Are we really going to pretend that the game that gave us stuff like Shards of Domination and un-swappable Covenants for almost an entire year is “catering to the 1%?”
I’m all for anything to stop boosting. Free consumables, handing out high ilvl gear to anyone. At this point I want to see every single group boosting put out of business.
want a sure fired way of doing it? Fix people’s laziness and make them all learn to play the game. If everyone don’t need a carry then noone will need boosting.
Honestly I don’t think it’d kill it dead. Slow it down to a crawl, absolutely, but folks would still be selling transmog runs or mount runs. But then we’ve hit “Paid runs” other than “Boosting” so it’d at least dry it up to an absurd degree
I know how to play to the point I have all three mage tower weapons on rogue. Doesn’t mean I can get into current content
You’re right on everyone not needing a carry will stop it, but people being lazy isn’t why they’re so popular. Its pretty much paying to not deal with people or the gearing treadmill
I do alot of carries and I have talk to people why they want a boost. 90% of the answer I get is I have gold and I’m lazy. It’s not about the threadmill of getting gear.
Sure there are people who wants a head start. But I will tell you getting boosted doesn’t give you any head start other than gear. You will not get into a group as higher level players can see a boosted toon a mile away.
You’re projecting. I never commented on people leaving in ether way. There’s plenty I don’t like about the game and when I decide to leave I’ll leave and I won’t look back.
And yes it’s pathetic when people can’t let go. As I said it’s like someone who can’t stop talking about their ex.
I guess I don’t see the difference between farming Korthia for Heroic Raid level gear or farming Dungeons for Badges to buy said gear. In the end players get to run easier content to get rewards above that difficulty level but it’s a grind.
As far as Raids between now and Wrath I don’t see much difference when comparing Apples to Apples. I was in a 25 player Heroic Guild and that was just as sweaty (if not more so) than being in a 20 person Mythic Guild now. On the other hand I also pugged Normal ICC on alts a lot and doing the same today is just as chill.
We just have more difficulty levels now so the difference from top to bottom seems bigger but if you compare what level you played back in Wrath to now I’d argue nothing has changed.
Ok lets put it like this, I only do “casual” world content only on 8 horde toons. Its all i can do to take my mind off the pain. That and music. Cant not exercise because it is one HUGE muscle spasm from the base of my skull down to my thighs. They cant stop it. Its also inside my gut. This, music, and my Harley are the only thing keeping me going. It sucks living in a state where theres a riding season.
So this isn’t a social game? Do you leave your friends and family in real life without saying goodbye? Do you tell others that they should do the same? Are people who stick with imperfect relationships in real life “pathetic” to you, even if they view them as more than adequate themselves?
It seems to me you’re doing a heap of projection and think you’re really good a mind-reading.
In a way I feel sorry for the devs. On one hand, they’re trying to make choices feel meaningful, but on the other they’re not giving people good choices; so it’s hard to feel too sorry for them.
Man this 1% mentality is so pervasive it’s wiggled its way into every aspect of peoples lives. The simple answer is no, they almost NEVER cater to the 1% in wow ( which I can only assume you mean hall of fame raiders? no wow player seems to be able to define this) The members of Limit and Echo pay the same amount I do for their subs, why would Blizz hyper focus on them? The race for world first and all the arena/mythic+ competitions have very low views considering how big wow is so it just makes no sense for them to ignore other players. They do tons of stuff for more casual players it’s just not liked very much, thats way different than being ignored
I can understand that. Casual has two levels. Duration and intensity. It sounds like your more for the duration (time) rather than intense play. I’m the same way. Real life has enough stress. I don’t need more in the game.
For me, it’s an eye situation where computer screens with fast moving objects can cause migraines, so I can’t be on it for too long and/or not do things like raids where there are lots of moving things on screen.
So, if you’re playing that long, but not that intense, yeah, you’re casual.
Holy crap dude. Are you actually equating GD to a family? Yeesh.
To use your semi cringe analogy someone who posts about issue they have in a game they play and love is like a partner trying to work things out with their significant other.
On the other hand someone who posts about quitting WOW to play another game and keeps posting is like the sad ex who just can’t let go. Pathetic as I said.
