Elitist abuse of casuals

No that’s what I said. If it’s a 100% guild group then it’s ML. Otherwise it’s always set to PL.

Oh. Misunderstanding then. xD

It’s not like we’re talking about an occasional individual here. In the forums elitists go out of their way to portray the elite “community” as one where every elite wants more and better rewards for doing what they do now, more exclusive elite content, and less or none for casuals. These loudmouths portray themselves as victims of casuals and directly blame casuals for every dev decision that doesn’t favor them.

And there is no casual community. Rastlin speaks only for himself.

That’s incredibly #@#$ed up. I’m so sorry that happened to you OP. There is 0 reason to do that to another player. I wouldn’t be too upset, if you talked to the co gm and gm and they made fun of you than leaving the guild was a great decision. There are plenty of guilds that would accept you with open arms. If you ever come to MG, my mythic guild would take you in and we could do dungeons or w/e you want, no pressure of coarse . Our guild loves to talk and we respect each other’s views. A guild is supposed to be a family, not your enemy.

Ill take “things that never happened” for 400 alex

OP, I am sorry for your experience and I know how it feels to have a couple of ****holes ruin a good game by putting you on blast for something that is none of their business. The sad reality is that sometimes guilds are made up of, or get taken over by, basic dude-bro losers who think they are hot with a 50% completion rate for the current Heroic tier and bag on anyone with less than that.

Most guilds, I would say a solid 80%, are good people and especially don’t judge their own members for enjoying what they enjoy. It sounds like you were being picked on by a few of said dude-bros that have very little going for them.

Don’t give up on guilds entirely because you can make some really good friends, but take some time for you and don’t worry about the rest, those players will keep making themselves miserable through their own toxicity.

Wasn’t one of the main reasons for the ML loot change due to the loot funneling / split runs that CE Mythic raiders were complaining about “having” to do in order to push for world firsts?

As far as I remember, Blizzard was focused more on stopping that, with lower difficulty loot hoarding, denying loot to Trials, and Ninja looting as more secondary notes.

Yeah…no. When someone who has never completed a 4 on time calls for 10s to be nerfed because it’s “too hard”, or when someone complains about not being able to get into 10s because of “elitist” even though they have hardly ever ran keys before, calling them out isn’t abuse or being elitist. Opinion is meaningless when you don’t have the experience to back it up.

As for rewards, are you seriously suggesting that world quests should be giving heroic raid level reward? And it’s not moronic that people are complaining that heroic raid level reward ISN’T ENOUGH?

The biggest issue I’ve seen is the belief that all content is equal and should have similar rewards when that’s far from true.

Heroic+raiding, mythic 13+ keys and High ranked pvp is a different level than everything else in game and should have better rewards by default.

World quest gear should cap out at heroic dungeons, emmisaries and warfront’s at lfr level.

Took a bit of digging but no. The ML removal came from the devs not wanting players to be “at the mercy” of Loot councils or a singular person saying whether or not you get loot. Which makes a lot of people scratch their heads because like I said earlier. If a Mythic team decides to only funnel loot to specific players during progression…

And lets say that Blizzard did intend to try and snipe split runs for World first players. Well…here’s what Josh from Method had to say on their last World First race (Not really counting CoS since it was only 2 bosses).

What World First players have to do right now to compete is pure hell. It’s far worse than what they had to do in previous expansions.

It’s hilarious to see all the posts defending how solo-player oriented WoW has become. Hilarious, but sad. These are the types of players who are screeching their feedback to Devs “It’s too haaaard!!!” which have led us down the rabbit-hole to terrible things - WoD, BFA, titanforging, removal of Master Loot, LFR, LFD… almost every problem in this game has come from the Solo-player whiners, which isn’t to be confused with Casuals. I have zero issue with Casuals. If you want to play an MMORPG by yourself, that is fine, but DON’T EXPECT THE GAME TO BE DESIGNED AROUND OR FOR YOU. MMORPGs are social games by design and they should be designed for social gamers. Period. End of story. Don’t like it? Too bad. Go play Skyrim or Witcher 3. The solo-player RPGs are that way ==>

Wrong. That falacy is when quoting someone as an authority or presenting yourself as one while presenting a view that’s not generally accepted- not simply being an authority on something.

If it was as you claim, we would never have expert witnesses in any field. " If all parties agree on the reliability of an authority in the given context it forms a valid argument".

For example, most cosmologists accept gravity as a valid theory. If one happens to not believe in gravity and someone cites this contrary belief or a particular trained scientist argues against it while touting his credintials, then that would be a argument from authority in your context.

I think the rest of my post explains my point. I’m fine with anyone commenting on anything, so long as they have self-awareness and don’t misrepresent their status.

If your only counter argument to someone stating that they don’t want ML is “You shouldn’t even be speaking… you don’t even raid…” Then you seriously need to work on your communication skills.

Edit: Also, the fallacy is implied. Me stating that the anti-ML poster doesn’t even raid, implies that I and other raiders are ‘loot experts’ and know better. So actually, I think it still works as a fallacy. Long story short, simply stating that you’re a raider is a crap argument. Personally, I think the choice and agency argument is by far the strongest argument for the re-introduction of ML.

You win the internet!!!

Also. Kinda confused… you care that much about what other nerds have to say about you? Sounds like a drama guild, like uh just say bye bye and ignore them. This is an odd post. Because it comes down to actually caring what people say about you on here. Trying to read whole thread to see if more details

“I’m not mad, YOU ARE. I’m not arguing, YOU ARE.” Sad.

And kinda confused. When did you ever think a frkn “guild master” has any say over you? Are they your parents? Your wife? Husband? Kids? Wtf!? You don’t know them they don’t know you or where you’ve been. There was a time 5-10 years ago where I would suicide dive into the org ah for literally hours and kill lobbies and ah over and over or I would camp people in world for hours. Needless to say, they liked to whisper me some very choice things, which is understandable!! But so what? It’s a GAME above all else. For 95% of the wow community it is NOT YOUR JOB. Now, being older and super casual (just came back after 3 yr break) I hate getting camped or when the dude dives the ah daily lmao - karma is a biooootch but I don’t feel the need to whisper them and tell them “you’re so annoying and you’re bugging me now stop it.” I realize that’s the point of what they’re doing. So join your own guild or join one in chat. If you don’t want to talk to them or participate that’s your choice and if they kick you so what… newsflash it is a game… don’t feed their “online ego” or their trolls… fk em. Admittedly I’m kinda old now (let’s say I was alive for most of the 80’s and I remember bag phones in cars) so I’ve been through a lot of things in my life. If you’re a teenager though I mean I can kinda see where you’re coming from, but it wasn’t necessarily like that for my teens. Anyways good luck, don’t let a game get to you, you do you!!

They actually been removing player choice in many areas of game for a long while now. They are even doing it again in 8.2 with this whole experience off debuff. The game is how Blizzard dictates it to be not how you or I want it to be.

We are now up to just under 750 replies on a thread that probably should’ve been buried over a week ago on the grounds of the thread being derailed/off the main topic…

I’m just gonna leave this video here and leave:

Funny thing is, I have only seen one guildie (and a former one at that) on these forums.

I try to not take anyone, nor myself, too seriously on these forums. Most of the time I am either just trying to be funny, relay some information, gripe about a change I don’t like or just being a pompous gluteus maximus (the three letter word is considered bad, gasp!). This is completely different from my quiet nature in game. As long as this still provides me with some pleasure, I don’t care what anyone else thinks.

UPDATE: I want to apologize to everyone in this thread. I have had some very long conversations with friends since this incident has happened. In the end, I realize I am in the wrong. I should have never shouted my opinions about things I really don’t understand or participate in. I am truly sorry and I know that I have made a fool out of myself. I’ll leave this incident in my life with a hard lesson learned. I’m sorry.

I’m going to add this comment as an update in the original post.
