What can I say? Humans and Elves are the best races.
So he paid for a name change. They remained as they were, and then abandoned the Alliance to ride it out solo. Until a certain dead high elf convinced them to foster a new alliance.
Your high IQ example does not work because both those would be faction humans.
See, a more appropriate example of the absurdity is if you wanted Cows to be incorporated into the European citizenship.
I understand. The problem I have with that is that it isn’t necessarily an organic part of this fantasy world. The elves have a story in this game that isn’t exactly the same old same old fantasy trope, and that even includes the non-blood high elves. So I’d separate the people looking for wow elf factions from those looking for generic fantasy trope to be shoehorned in to a story that has avoided it for the most part.
you mean like Humans, Kultirans and Worgen who are all ‘humans’
Or Mag’har and orcs who are both orcs?
And High elves, blood elves and void elves who are all elves?
Still makes them seperate. They had political differences, different rulers, different homes and even physical differences with Bloodelves being corrupt by fel magic while high elves never touched the fel and stuck to the more ‘pure’ arcane magic.
Yes, and imagine if there was a more secretive section of Kul’Tiran outlaws that defected from the Alliance and join the Horde. Only now they’re called Low Kul’Tirans.
Wait, actually, yeah. Blizzard should do that.
Guys, Ion even said Blood Elves are High Elves. It’s just a name change. Drinking fel didn’t change their dna. For that matter not all Blood Elves took the fel, and have blue eyes in game. It’s atrocious enough they gave the blood elf skins and options to void elves.
I want some Ogre-elves. Huge misshapen creatures that can smash all the rest of the elves while running at light speed, crit and haste up the wazoo, stealth, flip while jumping and have a tiger chicken mount.
Because “race” is a different concept altogether when it is used in Warcraft’s context. In the Quel’thalasian’s case it is more akin to “faction/nationality/ethnicity”.
You can’t stop being a race. The name is symbollic. And American vs. English has to do with nationality, not race.
you mean void elves, and you already have them. go away and post on the one of 50million other threads that say the same thing.
Guess that means you’re a Nightelf then.
You mean… like Stormwind Humans, Kul’tiran humans and Gilnean humans?
I mean, this guy gets it:
No because our race is High Elf and even through the chain of evolution we weren’t Night Elves.
Dark Troll - Highborne - High Elf
No I’m saying our race is our race. Not our symbollic name that was given to honor the other dead HIGH ELVES.
This game does use nationality as descriptors but that is not the case in our situation. And all humans are humans.
If say you had to kill Tyrande for some reason tog et high elves…would you do it? I mean she’s already shown she dislikes the idea of magic elves when she drove away the nightborne. So if you had to remove her head like she did to Nathanos…to get your high elves… would you?
Yes. I do.
Ok, that’s a nice looking Elf.
I don’t see how it isn’t.
The High Elves didn’t cease to exist just cuz we have Blood Elves and a small elite group of Void Elves.
You’d still have the void racials. And the terrible lore. And the fact that void elves even existing stands on the line between “generally bad idea” and “malicious compliance”.
Actually some Bloodelves outright stated they remember being exiled by the nightelves, meaning they were born nightelves and are now Bloodelves. It was a whole questline during the war of thorns, and the reason why the bloodelf guy wanted you to kill the civillians because he was still bitter and resentfull over it.
This is a magic setting stop trying to apply realistic evoloution, look at the Naga, clearly a different race to the Nightelves but were born as nightelves.
Elves mutate rapidly when exposed to magic. like fel making their eyes turn green, holy making them go yellow and void maing them turn into blueberries.
It started as a symbolic name but then it created a divide and two clearly seperate and distinct groups. Bloodelves and Highelves, and then another group, Void elves. Yes, they are all elves (that’s the race by the way, elves, which includes nightelves and nightborn) but they are three compleatly seperate things.
