Hello, I see you made a thread lumping a massive amount of players into one group. Why would I need to buy something off the Mogstation when I can make my character look so cool in game already:

I play a Catgirl, like everyone else! I don’t need to buy anything to look super stylish but at the same time, I don’t think the transmog item in the World of Warcraft store is bad either!
I just don’t understand why you couldn’t be consistent with your principles. Or anybody else whom i’m talking to for that matter.
A MTX is still a MTX regardless what game it’s in. When i’ve once time looked at FF14’s store, i was dumbstruck to find out there’s about $3K of MTX on that store, and it just baffles me on how people are okay with FF14’s MTX (You know, a game with a sub and premium price cost) but not with WoW. (You know, a game with a sub and premium price cost)
If you show me a room full of snakes, i wouldn’t be suddenly cool with that if you give me a room full of snakes with a hot tub, milkshakes and a high def TV with an Xbox. It’s still a roomful of snakes.
Amazing except for the terrible combat, awful UI, terrible zones with loading screens every 50 feet…
Yeah, they communicate - if you consider groveling to the players and telling them everything they want to hear “communication”. Which I suppose you do.
Subjective opinion, therefore not relevant to anyone other than yourself.
Best combat of any MMO I’ve played. Certainly miles better than FF XIV. Open zones, pretty decent (and moddable) UI, etc.
I say this frequently but… why should they communicate? Every time they do reach out people like you bite their arm off. I wouldn’t communicate either.
I don’t think you understand what a “whale” is.
Subjective opinion again. Here’s my “subjective opinion” - the best mogs in this game, by far, can be obtained from Vanilla/TBC/WOTLK content for free.
When a game can provide good content and respect player’s time, I’ll give a pass to store items. Are they ideal? No. I’d prefer not to have them at all. However, I’ll turn a blind eye if the game is good and can respect my time.
You don’t have to agree with me but you won’t change my opinion.
I honestly dont think anyone is trying to change your opinion, i think most people presenting equally as weighted opinions are trying to keep the discussion at a fair balance.
I’ll give you Zenos. I did not love him in Stormblood. I’m hoping they do a better job with him in Endwalker, but that remains to be seen.
The Beast Tribes however… I would dispute this a little. They are a rep grind, certainly, but often shorter than the ones WoW has, and with an interesting story to go along with it. They also offer a pretty decent chunk of experience. Perhaps it’s a matter of personal taste, but I find Beast Tribes enjoyable, where as I find things like leveling that stupid Archive in Korthia just painful.
If anything, MTX is the opposite of respecting my time. “Hey you want this gold instead of playing the game?? $5 please”
“Hey, you want this cosmetic?.. well cough up $5. Oh what’s that? you want to unlock it though actually playing the game? then Tough pineapples”… And somebody on this thread is going to bring up “w0w tOkEn” since i bought that up… watch.
The only way possible for MTX to be acceptable, is if the game is actually free 2 play. Like Guild Wars 2, or other f2p MMO’s. Or TF2.
It’s really sad that people are okay with MTX ruining premium priced games with the “as long the game is good!!”…
Several Mog sets act as heirlooms, giving an exp boost, unless they removed it despite being sold with that featured as a selling point at the time.
Multiseater mounts, unless you were there for the FXV event.
There are many FFXIV store items that were in game for free but they were limited time only. You can still get them with cash instead of like wow who throws them away forever.
ey bro you might think it’s insane but look at what happened to fenny. only like 4 months ago he was talking about how unfun FFXIV was and now look at him. the ffxiv community rivals Jehovah witnesses.
