Either all of it is okay, or none of it is okay

Well, maybe yes and maybe no. I mean there are likely numericals that we’re not privy to, that could shed more light on it. For instance “upon introduction of MTX, we’ve had 19% attrition, but after removing MTX we’ve retained 21% more subscriber revenue”… things of that nature that would imply MTX has an absolute affect in the gaming community.

Yeah iunno why people are like that. Wows cosmetic shop is quite smol compared to alot of other games that people constantly put on a pedastal. Some people love to hate this game and heck all logic and reason.

That is not a “shorter” rep grind when there are rewards locked behind completing them all. And they limit how many Beast Tribe quests you can do a day, artificially extending the grind further.

It is a matter of personal taste. The whole one faction of beast tribe “bad” one “good”, usually denoted by color, struck me as stale really fast.

I dunno, for me the store stuff boils down to FF14 delivers steady content patches and lots of activities for me to do. A lot of the store stuff is stuff from previous events that they stuck up there as they add new stuff, but that doesn’t matter. The game itself is continually adding new content, new armour, new mounts, etc, and they’re doing it on a predictable and frequent basis.

WoW however constantly goes months without any new content where the only new thing you might end up seeing is that stupid store edition. -_-

…I don’t see how that makes it better… It just strikes me of how Epic Games does it with their PC storefront; just give stuff away for free.

Me personally, and this has nothing to do with WoW or FF14, but, Far Cry 5, Fallout 4, and Grand Theft Auto 5 (Sometimes) are my favorite games to play. But it saddens me to see there is MTX shoved in there. Because it reminds me of a time where games were complete packages and not just an excuse to try to turn it into a “live service” cashgrab. I get enough of that from politics.

So…something you can’t get with ingame gear sets, gotcha.

Hello, I see you replied to my post. Gear in game does indeed have stats on it!

Thanks for your post and have a great day!

…What?

I mean I’ve literally said, MTX aren’t ideal and I’d rather not see them. I can turn a blind eye if the game is good. Is what it is.

I don’t know what else you want from me.

Level one gear doesn’t last through level 30 ingame, unless you’re that tank who blames the healer for you dying in Totorak because you’re still in whites.

…Consistency…

Again, the question was… why is it okay in FFXIV but not okay in WoW?

The fact that Square makes a better game, has a development team that is very open and communicates, and the items are things that are on par with what is in the game without being at the expense of the game… that is why it is better.

You can whine about my opinion being subjective, which it may be, however the question cannot be answered any other way.

Square openly says that money from the mogstation goes right into the game. There are many game features that exist because of money made from the cash shop. Could it all be BS? Could the money go into buying Yoshi P another ring? Sure. However, Square has not given the players any reason to doubt him.

Unlike WoW, who releases a unique, high resolution store mount and then a week later releases an in-game anniversary mount that is a basic recolor of a 14 year old mount that already exists in game. Unlike WoW, whose developers reveal a lackluster content patch in a video where they are patting themselves on the back and talking about how great they are for revealing the return of tier sets, then drop a $60 boost, a unique murloc backpack, and a transmog set that is unlike anything else we have in the game with unique animations just a few days later.

But by all means, keep telling me how much better WoW is and how I’m advertising FFXIV. Blizzard seems to be advertising FFXIV by themselves just fine.

I’ve been 100% consistent with my opinion.

Hello, I see you replied to my post. Did you know you get gear rewards for just playing the game? Considering how quickly you can level in ARR now, you’ll be past level 30 in like a couple days!

Thanks for your post and have a great day!

The difference, is content. WOW is only putting out STORE Content, the game content is junk.

There is more to do on a carpenter in FFXIV then there is for the entire shadowlands.
