When FF14 makes and store mount, glamour (TMOG), or story/leveling skip, it’s all well and dandy and totally not money hungry in a game that requires a monthly sub.
Oh but when WoW does it it’s reprehensible and looked down upon.
You cannot pick and choose merely because you think a game is better than the other. If all of what Blizzard is doing with their store boosts and cosmetics for the game is bad for the game, the in the same vein it’s bad for FF14 as well.
Boost are bad in general and should be taken out the game. Level 60 boost does not help make you better in the game. If I had to decide between a boosted player or one who actually took their time to level to join my core raid group, then I’m choosing the one who has more experience with that class then the one who wanted to skip the leveling because the class looks appealing to them.
Also btw, a person is more motivated with leveling a character to level 60 rather than buying a $60 boost.
so what? i’ve leveled like four monks and play all three specs. how is anyone worse off if i pay to boost one on a new realm? what is it you think i’d learn by leveling yet another?
It looks like FF14 playerbase wants to support their game.
It looks like WoW playerbase wants WoW to burn…Not sure why would you want your plane to crash…
But yeah, 1 mog set in WoW, and forum flips upside down, while FF got hundreds of cosmetics available via shop.
(Oh, and yes, boosting in FF is a thing just like in WoW)
I like WoW & I shall continue playing it. This is why I am here.
I fail to understand people who choose to on WoW while still paying sub…Like, if you don’t like certain type of food, you stop eating it. You don’t go and write Buzzfeed articles about it, write a blogpost, submit multiple reddit posts on different subreddits, engage in conversation with others trying to make them hate same food as you. … No. Move on.
Plenty of people dislike it in FFXIV, too. Go check out their forums, it’s not much different than these ones.
No matter what the game is, people are going to have an issue with it. The biggest difference between FFXIV and WoW is that the guy in charge of making decisions in FFXIV is a good communicator. That helps quell a lot of fires.
If Ion ever left Blizzard, I’d never know until I stumbled upon a Wowhead article about it.
If you leveled one before boosting another that’s fine. What I mean is those that pick a new class that they never played before and try to play with that specific alt.
Would you rather take someone that has never played a DK before and doesn’t know what they’re doing yet they boosted or someone that has leveled through one and learned what’s good and bad about the class and what to do on certain situations?
Why do you care what people think, especially when it comes to a black-and-white mentality on life? If a grown adult doesn’t understand that there are shades of gray to most aspects of existence, then they are not worth your time
Hundreds that are bound to a single character, to boot. Same as store mounts, except the expensive ones. Best of all, there are more gear looks than there is room to store them in game–but $quare helpfully offers monthly paid storage space they claim is too difficult to add for free.
My take here is I got enough 1% mounts that elude me. I have no issues with cheapish buys here. Just means I ride in style to ulduar and ICC for my weekly dose of fail.
Well that and I make the joke I spent at least 180 on invincible…still ain’t got it. year of sub at least you see.
