The ‘rental’ part. Factions can have unique abilities that fade over time. It’s actually quite natural from a real world perspective.

It also seems quite natural that since we are here to save the Shadowlands, and all of the covenants also want to save the Shadowlands, that they would help us no matter what abilities we might choose first.

I’m just inferring that, even though the Covenants band together and we’re (once again) the saviors, doesn’t mean they’re going to give us everything at the drop of a hat.
