Echoing void was overtuned, moreover when it’s an aoe corruption that was rivaling in strenght in single target vs other corruptions. The nerf is fine, you can still play it or twillight for a tank and do good dmg, just not as much as a dps ALL the time.
DPS trying to nerf tanks from world quest content to avoid hurting the 12k dps autoattacker lfr heros is the reason we can’t have nice things and 2 hour ques.

I will miss the dmg this put out. I have lvl 3 on my BiS sheild.
I just wish they took 10-15 corruption off with the nerf.

I got insta killed by one guy who hit me with 3 infinite stars in one second. But oh ya thats fine. Nerf echoing void. I’m not salty about the nerf but… Ok ya I am salty about it.
If anything, getting outdpsed by a 50% crippled handicapped tank vs a 80% dps WOD or MOP funtional world questing tank should be less of a insult. 80% dps tanks had a fair amount to contribute and it was like a 1 of, hero class but dps still shone. Like Reinhardt or mercy being a every team 1 of. While reapers and s76s could still shred.
Current 50% state getting outdpsed by a healer or the tank either means they’re buying a boost, severely underplaying their class, boosted or bought their io in a 10+, or really bad. It’s like someone thinking they’re usain bolt when they can’t even outrun a ice cream truck arguing that all people on wheelchairs should be pushed over so they can feel good about their 10% effort.
Tbh I reread your post and it sounds like you’re saying with two echoing void tanks don’t even pull the same dps as top tier dps. Idunno though, the amount of benefit it passively provides is probably too high. It would make all the average/slightly above average dps players feel really inept when grouped up with tanks that stacked echoing void. You saw it all the time, players pulling respectable numbers, not godlike, but respectable, just being destroyed by echoing void tanks that have melee as their second contribution to damage.
It’s a little discouraging, doesn’t make me want to try harder personally. I am a tank main, then healer is my main offspec. I’m not the greatest at dps so I’m not ashamed to admit that it was discouraging to compete against echoing void and white damage for first place on the meters.
I don’t care about you guys just nerf the VE, but blizz pls decrease the corruptions of VE, and buff those crap corruptions. Not just nerf good corruptions! Jesus.

Every slap represents the nerfs we have had to endure with patch 8.3, wow will be stuck in a perpetual beta phase now with rules changing weekly and sometimes daily.

The rank 2 just isn’t worth it now for DPS.
Which is a bummer because it played nice and consistent but the Twillight Devastation slot machine just has so much more potential damage. And TD is probably going to make it to the chopping block pretty soon. When that thing procs at the right time on a tank it makes pre nerf EV look like a toy.
The nerf should have been basing it on stamina not health.

No when they 80% dmg nerfed prot warrior in 8.2. Holding aggro with similarly geared people in bigger pulls became a pain. That AoE damage is what allows us to hold aggro on the big pulls.

I dunno what Tank you play but a few of them have very good self sustain, also, no a Tank shouldn’t be able to do “powerful” damage, they have their job, and the DPS has theirs. In fact, I think Tanks should do even less damage than they do now.
Echoing Void only need a nerf to people in Tank spec, cause for DPS it’s now trash.
