Echoing Void Nerf

Only certain specs like havoc DH are allowed to have fun in M+

working as intended

Pretty sure most classes I know have fun in M+.

Sounds like you just don’t like to M+ unless you pull big numbers on a parser…

Yeah waiting two hours for a dungeon and then disbanding since the only singular 1-2 tanks applying for a dungeon are 40 ilvls under geared or playing a spec that takes two hours and gets ganked with no pvp kill potential is great. Meanwhile every 3 minutes in wpvp i can get people trying to nerf me for a 20% pve dodge shield for 8 seconds to go screw themselves off with +50% pvp talents. You don’t ask me, ask the devs

Sounds like your issue is with inflated HP pools and DPS ignoring mechanics because of their inflated health pool.

Making more tanks won’t solve that issue either.

Oh yeah… When melee mobs can just randomly crit for 300k damage on tanks and 500k on 400k hp melee with +50% more damage and at risk of randomly blowing up with 100-200k eye beams or things… Yup getting gibbed or shot must not be the issue. I am obviously entitled for not playing a plate dps spec that can face tank 3 hits with their 60-70% passive armor before dying because if we had everyone take 800k (700k overkill damage), it would let you time a 10. Sounds good. Must not be your play style at all that matters. Being able to instantly die from one shots and engage hits of all the strengths is clearly another m+ exclusive dps ability to waiting in a que for three hours.

The end of the world part is that everyone will only be doing a bonus of 20% damage instead of 40% because DPS got butt hurt that tanks were doing damage.

Tanks being hard to come by is the allure.

Trying to balance the last patch of an expansion when the world first race is over, it was a terrible expansion overall, and weeks after people have been used to having those pieces is kinda pointless.

Just let them have this, good god, at least Legion let us be overpowered to make up for its shortcomings.

Why aren’t they balancing by dps per point though, most traits can do a whopping 5 dps to 150 / 200 dps per corruption point. Or about 5-15k depending on the one. Meanwhile nothing increases survivalbility for the tanks not getting titanforging or armor/defenses.

Theres like say no “Increase your armor by 1000 whenever you take every 100,000 damage taken for 20 seconds, releasing all damage absorbed back as damage ability”… There’s no healing corruption comp for the +50% higher base damage of M+, if anything we do radically more damage now, but survivalbility hasn’t gone up but down with corruption.

They want you to keep grinding for the good ones to pad metrics till SL. Nobody on this planet thinks the avoidance corruptions are good, those are there to get in the way of the good rolls.

I know but there are so many terrible, completely useless ones. Like ones that for 50 corruption sim as a literal whopping 100 damage increase for getting shot by a 100k damage eyeball every 10 seconds. Like say the one that is a random proc that reduces random cds randomly used within the last 10 seconds by 5 seconds once every random 2 minutes. Or +12% more leech from leech or 3% of your 20% haste to give you 0.6% avoidance so you can take 200% more aoe damage from a 50 mile radius eye?

Just delete the junk or make traits removable and say be able to sacrifice a junk but good corruption item to give a high ilvl base item the effect. From wrathion, or have him have a nzoth shop where he can sell you corruption enchants to get what you want, gg ez.

So you don’t invite prot warriors because they are wanna be DPS because of your moral standing that Tanks shouldn’t do damage?

Warrior Tank isn’t the meta tank because they take less damage than the other tanks…it’s because they are like a 4th DPS.

I think EV is still a good choice for tanks. Especially bears. You have a ton of HP so gain a lot more damage from it than my 400 hp mage, you’re always in melee, plus your base damage is a lot lower and EV can help make up for it.

On my mage with the nerf it makes less sense. Last night I got Rank 3 EV on a pair of 415 blue pants from a random WQ. Checking Bloodmallet, it looks like Rank 3 EV would provide a 3-4k dps increase. Even for AOE it sims less than my alternative pants which have ilevel 470 level 3 Twisted Appendage.

My guess is EV might still be worth it for AOE, but only against gigantic trash packs. The go-to talent to get now for non-tanks is probably Twilight Devastation.

The moment I saw that the top DPS on my +11 was a BM hunter playing melee, and that over 40% of his damage was from Echoing Void, that was when I realized that the nerf was more than necessary.

Don’t forget free baseline +10% damage to melee groups without spending 300-2k a hour on Warscrolls.

EV was too strong for DPS classes as well. It needed a hefty nerf.

And now its complete trash. Yay Blizz overnerfed yet another thing and all of the items I got from weekly chests now need to be cleansed. BUT HEY at least twilight still does 30% of peoples damage in mythics… Hope they nerf twilight and Infinite into uselessness as well.

I don’t lose to tanks on meters, and that Hunter just didn’t know wtf to do. I don’t mind tanks pulling damage, but as a general rule, they shouldn’t be doing more than maybe 50% that of an equally geared dps class. EV wasn’t just giving tanks, and other mid to high level hp classes, a few extra dps. It was supercharging them.

I cant understand why people find okay that a passive proc via rng is your top dmg, is everything okay in your heads?

They already can solo quite a lot. Lol.
