Is this where I have to explain to the how blade flurry works? You do understand that you still have to actually play the game correct? Would you say the same about Fury Warrior because they have to press whirlwind to activate their aoe? I shouldn’t expect you to know that though seeing as you can’t even play your own class.
Tanking is supposed to be about pulling bigger groups and controlling them while the dps kills them. Sure, it’s also about maximizing your own damage, but if you think corruption should bump your dps but 30-50%, then you’re being just as blind as the other guy.
Pulling bigger groups with gutted self sustain and survival going into BFA ? Have you tanked anything in higher M+ especially in season 4 ?
Have you seen how insane the threat output is from specs like havoc DH ? How am I supposed to counter that ? No mashing my buttons harder won’t solve it
This whole thread just further serves to prove that the vast majority of the community views tanks as slaves that serve a purpose for the enjoyment of DPS players
I totally agree with that. Blizzard didn’t do squat for corruption. They introduced legendaries into the last patch of the expansion. It’s the same complaints people had at the beginning of legion but blizzard doesn’t have the time to smoothen out the system of how you acquire corruption affixes. Nor do they seem to care or want to as they have checked-out from this expansion.
But that’s a tangent discussion. This is about the change to EV and it’s validity. I don’t think there’s really any leg to stand on if you’re against this change other than you will miss abusing a broken corruption trait.
EV on both AoE and ST was my hardest dpsing ability. Every. Single. Time. It was consistent and it was from two 445 items which are basically my lowest ilvl pieces. And I didn’t even have Rank 3 EV. That is a broken and unbalanced trait.
So true lol. And a lot of lowe people don’t even know their class or abilities or even bloodlust and time warp key bound. Tanks take all the mechanics and you’re blamed for making or breaking a run, while as a dps you can carry the 20k dps when auto shot hunter who calls self the pro since their 40 apm spec has FIVE buttons. Five… Five casts every gcd?? What’s that. They press two buttons every 8 seconds… But because there’s one more icon and they don’t need to ever think about moving or positioning its definitely 5x more challenging to do 60% of your damage from auto shot while you certainly can’t afk a tank, wq efficiently in world of meat sponge cape, and a 90% parse mythic geared tank should lose to a afk lfr hunter.
Yeah. I tanked a 15 SoB last night. So probably a bit more experience than your +8 and +9 experience.
And seeing as I do main as Havoc DH… I do know how much threat we pull. If we eyebeam, death sweep, and then memebeam before the tank has been able to use more than one aoe ability than I am going to pull threat and it’s my stupidity for doing that.
Blizzard has been wallpapering over their horrible class design this expansion - and their lack of attention paid to it - with overpowered essences and now overpowered corruption.
Now they’re peeling the wallpaper off the walls, showing off the ugly drywall underneath.
And now that we are back with the ugly drywall good luck getting into a decent higher M+ group if you don’t bring good instant multi-target damage baseline.
And all the havoc DHs are rejoicing this move, hmm what a surprise because they have nothing to worry about.
Yeah in my experience i used to be a tanking main with one of every tank, prot warrior, paladin, 4 guardian and feral druids, and i just can’t take wqing in tank form taking 1 hour to kill anything while getting ganked all the time in wpvp.
Mechanically wise tanks are my favorite pve m+ class On a good run for all the thinking, but azerite gearing is very spec unfriendly and there were none of the two raid tank spots open up for then r6/ raid tank vdh.
We were fun, but mediocre with no raid utility or strengths until corruption came along and let it just compete as a closer #3 to still #1 and #2 prot warriors and monks.
But the repair bills were higher, tank essences are the biggest poison in the game and basically mandatory, and like others have said you’re expected to be the leader but be crucified on the stick for any perceived mistakes from auto follow
even if you do somehow carry a lower end group by making bigger pulls, you don’t see or get any credit by it and everyone thinks me me me. M+ is a team game and you Need to interrupt, help your tank with affixes like helping snare/root/daze them when they run to kite on necro weeks, death grip out of blood on sanguine, and aoe stun important casts our aoes when you need to double interrupt on cd. Tanks are expected to do more while getting anything good taken away from them and not being balanced relative to each other at all.
Opened my bear’s cache today and I have a tier 3 EV wrists. I might not be able wear it without some more cloak resistance but I’ve won the game now as far as I’m concerned, even after the nerf.
1% of 700k health is still massive
In contrast a 66 corruption cost for a tier 3 void ritual is absurd when there are targeted equivalent stat procs that cost 15-20
Dude everyone is seeing this ridiculous timers. For all the good being a dh is supposed to get me it doesn’t mean anything if you have to apply to like 30 groups to get into anything like a 11 even if you’ve already done a 13 of the same dungeon before wait two hours without any decent ilvl tanks or healers applying and then either be told disband or swap specs for completion. It’s easy to see that visions and corruption made damage go up without any survivability going up. Tanks are squisher than before with ilvl only going 30% higher vs 50% higher damage. Meanwhile Spriests are one if limit and methods most stacked classes on the parser and choosing your classes worst spec while having another #1 is ridiculous.
When they nerffed the agro tanks could grab then said it would be all right and everyone jumped on board I told friends that they might better prepare for tank shortages.
tanking for friends vs pugs is a very different world.
Bliz really needs to learn what makes folk willing to do / not do stuff.
But they keep on with their social engineering efforts and fall short time after time.
It’s just my own opinion, but I wouldn’t even feel good about just doubling my damage for no reason other than a proc. Everyone knows it’s just a random proc making up most of the damage, so it’s not like it makes me look good.
There is a problem with OP procs making some difficulties a non-factor, however. I don’t think Blizzard is trying to punish tanks, just make it so they, you know, need a group.
When the exact same class in a m+ 90% st parse was like 12-18k, do you not see a problem with a 10k dps proc being 40% of their damage but only 10-20%s of a dps with the exact same dps effect?
They’re intentional hp balanced corruptions when tanks have so little dps anyways a forgettable 5k dps proc (10%) is nothing to a dps, but
On a tank the same 5k dps doubled is 40% of their 18k + 10k damage, but it still doesn’t get anyone to quest on them. Tanks are pretty fun mechanically but they’re not equipped to kill meat sponge filter of bfa.
If they could, Then the low for dps would complain that a full tank rotation in mythic gear shouldn’t lose to avoid hurting the 12k dps bm hunter whining being God 57 miles away from any mechanics is so much harder and skill ful since apparently 90% of dps don’t know what a purge is fml when they play their dh and do 17 to zero interrupts, zero stuns, zero pet lusts and no water dome dispels or -75% damage bolstering shout interrupts or dispels or completely 404s never choosing a good time to stun UNLESS it’s gonna heal a 13% hp mob 1-100%.
Or a dk that stands in fire and death grips the mobs not out but into sanguine while tanks and healers are the only ones expected to do the incredibly hard job of hovering over to read and do mechanics.
It sounded to me like you were mad that Blizzard is taking away an OP corruption trait and saying that blizzard is needing your fun. Which then implies you only have fun when you have an OP trait.
