Old flying is pointless. Gonna be using Dynamic flying day 1, enjoy being slow and left behind.

Another victory for the free thinkers who will not bow down to the Mob.

I for one vote to entirely remove TBC flight. The old fight mode holds the game back more than anything in the form of bots and afking.

Well, they did remove the rep requirement from 10.2, which is a smallish win (but probably the biggest hurdle in PF).

But ultimately, that’s what I’m wondering myself. If it wasn’t an accessibility issue, I wouldn’t care so much. I doubt I’ll be using static flying much, myself, if at all. Probably just when I run out of vigor going to a higher elevation change.

I feel the same way.

There is literally zero justification for blizzard refusing to let us have normal flying at the same time that we get dynamic flying in the new expansion.

I really want to know why they decided on this implementation and their answer will result in me not buying the expansion if they don’t have a good reason.

If blizzard doesn’t give any answer, then I will not be purchasing the new expansion. I refuse to support blizzard when they refuse to listen to player feedback

But if dynamic flight is so much better than traditional flying, won’t all those new people just automatically use dynamic flight when presented with the option?

And if new players aren’t choosing to use dynamic flight, then that signals a n inherent problem with dynamic flight

To you and all the others who don’t seem to understand people like different things.

Dynamic flying to me is like when I used to only drive stick. It was a fun interactive way to get around, whether it be the first car I learned to drive stick in, Honda Civic, or the modified Mustang that scared the hell out of me the first time I drove it. Sometimes you just want to commute between all the other things the game has that you’ve been enjoying since the very beginning. It’s frustrating when you can’t play in a way that was entirely acceptable for over a decade.

I’m happy we get any type of flying on release at all. We went from having no flying until a couple patches into an xpac, to having dynamic flying on release and then tbc flying when you get to 80 and complete the main quest.

I agree – it is nice, but it presents an extra problem for those who can’t use dynamic flying.

If we started off with no flying, the leveling process would be designed for no flying.
Starting off with dynamic flying means that it is most likely designed around dynamic flying.

That presents a significant obstacle for those that can’t.

I personally don’t think the old flying should ever have been introduced into the game. I liked the game much better when everyone was on the ground and you would see other people on the roads all the time.

They should never design their games around a minority of players. Don’t hold back the masses because some blind dude with one hand can’t use dynamic flying.

Hindsight being 20/20, I agree! I think it removed a lot of interaction with the world. If you have an easy escape from it, it definitely reduces the interaction, and hence, much of the difficulty, from the open world.

I like dynamic flight… but I like traditional flight much more.

I tried dynamic flight in a free demo a while back. It was great for long distances, but in any other circumstance I preferred traditional flight.

I am basically only here now because of the Pathfinder access for old flight. I started questing through the zones a couple of days ago.

This entire disgusting game with old flight has been nauseating.
His repeated obstinance yet again just making it worse. Only this time he targeted lesser abled players with this garbage.

either PF should have applied to BOTH flight types or NEITHER.

I will, because for once I might actually be interested in playing Dragonflight and use a mount I much prefer. Especially since his mount was a part of his RP. You remember RP, it’s part of the genre this game belongs to. It’s pretty funny you bring up how huge the zones are considering I’ve played since vanilla and never had issue getting around Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor on land mounts. Maybe brush up your comprehension skills a little more, or not try to be such an obvious troll.

Here’s a free Ferrari, drive it around the entire city and explore, jump through some other hoops for a bit and if you’re lucky, you can have your old Toyota Corolla back, the same Corolla that you’ve earned and had taken away from you time and time again… the much faster Ferrari can be used from day one though, makes total sense!

I never liked traditional flight. It was more like swimming and not much like flight. The only thing I actually do like about it is the ability to AFK in the air, especially in pvp mode.

It was so boring that I would hit my auto-fly button and go get coffee and end up having to rez way out in the ocean because I didn’t get back in time.

LMAO…AFK is literally NONE of that posters business. I’ll AFK when and where I choose to out in the world.
As for bots, someones on dope. Bots have been rampant since a month in…no static flight required.
