You have some audacity typing this with a straight face XD you don’t get to change the meaning of the word “trivial”.
LMAO i have 3 children and am almost 40 but sure keep struggling in wow.
you play cataclysm on the big hot men guild don’t you.
don’t forget about getting vote kicked just for asking to get a quest done. then you are left with a 30 min debuff
Nah, I love getting into a group with someone who crushes the dungeon for me. Weekly complete in literally 20 minutes. I’m all about that life
The title assumes there’s a “right” way to run dungeons, but Blizzard has never set specific rules for pacing or approach in dungeon finder groups. In fact, the only objective within dungeons is to kill the final boss. Everything else like quests, optional bosses, or taking a slower pace—is based on individual goals, which can vary widely. The friction comes from the matchmaking system pairing players without considering their expectations or preferred playstyle.
The issues you described, like skipping bosses or not stopping for quests, are more about individuals prioritizing their own objectives rather than a widespread problem with how dungeons are being run. It’s also worth noting that isolated bad experiences (like tanks leaving early) shouldn’t be generalized to all players who prefer a faster pace.
If your goals (e.g., completing quests or fighting optional bosses) consistently clash with random groups, using the group finder to form a premade party is a great solution. That way, you can ensure everyone shares the same goals and avoid the frustrations of mismatched expectations in random queues.
I have to say lies, there is a gate behind the first boss that wont open until after he is killed, then there is a gate before the second boss that you have to clear the room before it opens and the boss enters said room and lastly, before the last boss you have to clear his adds before he will appear… just saying if your going to tell a bold face lie, please at least come up with a more feasible dungeon to tell said lies about.
I mean seriously, come up with something harder for people to debunk.
i dont like mythic + or speedruns but blizzard says they are? they forced pushed mythic + races to be the fastest speedruns, thats the end goal so speed runing every dungeon its like practice
Had my first dungeon run with a level 11 tank and he ran through the entire dungeon while everyone just stayed at the entrance. hmmm…new way to run a dungeon now i guess.
Players were speedrunning dungeons long before M+. Players have generally speedrun instances whenever they could get away with it since vanilla.
I don’t get you complainers.
You want to CC every single group in your TBC and TWoLK dungeons? Go play the separate clients. They are there for you. They are waiting to add you to their ranks, seriously get.
Stop whinging because we are not taking 30 minutes + to get dungeons done that haven’t been relevant for over a decade.
You want to play retail, you get retail, today’s retail. And all of us playing it.
Don’t like it, go to your obviously preferred classic server.
That is true. Some classes are more mobile than the toon I was tanking on at the time (blood dk or prot warrior - especially blood dk) and would use all their mobility skills to rush ahead and pull all the mobs. Eventually I got sick of it and stopped tanking LFD (then eventually stopped tanking altogether).
Play Classic Hardcore and you’ll find some people being careful with dungeons.
I’ve played WOW since 2004, on a PvP server.
This game has already been watered down so much cause of people wanting a Hello Kitty Island Adventure sing-along.
Some tanks are there to learn and it’s important to be patient with them. It’s hard to recruit new tanks if they feel like they are being rushed when they are trying to learn the dungeons (and how to tank on the class they are trying to learn). LFD dungeons are a place to start and I’m fine with tanks that are trying to be careful. I’m also fine with tanks learning in M0 before jumping into keys. I let the tank go at their pace most of the time, with the exceptions being going so fast that the rest of the group gets locked out of boss fights or slower than waiting for Thunderclap to come off cd between pulls. I’ll support the tank if someone else wants the tank to go faster than the tank is comfortable with. I had a tank in timewalking apologize for going too slow; they were going at a pace that I was fine with and I let them know that.
No more than raid fights are speedruns. Every piece of remotely challenging content has a timer, either hard or soft, that forces some measure of optimization. Going further than that, every fight in the game is on a series of timers.
It’s not abuse.
It’s a tuning problem.
Even a level 10 with greens or heirlooms is ridiculously strong and can solo dungeons themselves without trouble if they’re one of the stronger specs (even twinks have a meta - without enchants and gear Resto Shaman is probably king).
I’m totally down for bugging Blizzard to tone down the compensation scaling at low levels. It’s always been ridiculous.
But people stopping their experience and then playing the game, in groups or otherwise, is NOT abuse. Blizzard isn’t stupid. The NPCs to turn off experience are literally called “Behsten” and “Slahtz”. Behsten Slahtz. Best In Slot. They literally exist to allow this behavior.
Just get Blizzard to actually adjust the scaling so it’s not so overwhelming from 10-16ish.
Level 20 Twinks are infinitely more reasonable in comparison.
I think you meant illuminated.
Illuminated experience. cause we need to shine a light on these bad tanks that can’t actually do a speed run because they saw some other guys do it or because a streamer told them to. IDK I’m just throwing things around to see what sticks.
Sweet! I don’t recall forcing you to slow down… My preference existing doesn’t change your ability to control your character, last I checked. Have at it old fella.
Congratz on the kids, that’s great. I have two grandsons. My preference to moderate pacing in dungeons is just that…a preference, not a requirement. Good luck leaning on that accelerator, try not to tailgate… its dangerous.
