Dungeons ques are not speedruns. This has gotta stop

Listen at first, It was kinda funny watching tanks with eliminated experience one-shot everything. But the whole ‘abuse the scaleing thing.’ Is just going out of control. Here are the problems I’ve come across.

  • Current Tanks aren’t even waiting for groups, they pull the whole dungeon, skip bosses In certain expacs that can’t really be skipped. (Like the final boss Is behind a barrier or the shielded npcs guarding him. That sorta thing.) And they go around It.

  • They auto-leave once the last boss dies. Causing all the adds they pulled to go back and kill everyone left behind. Ha ha, died to that one add back 2 rooms away? Too bad, now your going to die to the whole dungeon pull.

  • Quests? Forget It. They don’t even exist. And they aren’t stopping to kill certain bosses needed for quests or pick up items off to the left or right of you. Even If there right there.

  • If your a dps, your life means nothing. If you die, there not going to wait for you. Basically expendable.

I disagree. it’s great getting in a group with a speedrunner. super fast XP

the quests aren’t worth doing, it’s all about the end of dungeon xp.

Only if your not on the recieving-end of a half a dungeon pull, can keep up and not die a stream of adds? Dosen’t sound fun to me.

Remember when tanks were threatened if they didn’t speed up in dungeons? The threats of being kicked from groups for being too slow? Well, we got used to rushing because DPS players or groups of guildmates and friends would threaten us for being too slow. And if you dared to go for an optional boss, they’d kick you out of the group. This is what you sowed, and now you’re reaping it. It’s important to understand that this situation is a result of your own actions.

It’s a norm that’s been established for at least a decade if not longer. Yours isn’t the first or last complaint we’ll hear about it. If you really want to make it to end boss room, stay as close as you can to tank, stack invis pots, use feign death, don’t hit anything.

Admittedly it sucks for new players who want to know what the old dungeons were like, without having to wait forever in que for their own level dungeon to pop. But yeah, everyone tries to impose their own pace on these - so it’s just a mad scramble, gg, kthxbye situation.

I just pretend to do damage to see if anybody notices. Easy dungeon weeklies

How can you not keep up, the tanks usually don’t have much for speed boost except maybe a leap or something but that shouldn’t leave you a whole room behind.

Or are staying to dps everything, pulling aggro and dying?

I love the speed running level 11 Fury Warriors. LOVE THEM.

Get my 5 done, super fast, I’ll be quite sad if this gets fixed.

That’s just dramatic.

TW is predominantly for levelling and getting your 5 in.

If it’s too fast, grab 4 like minded players to make your life mean something?

I got 5/5 done with a level 11 Fury yesterday, it was fabulous!

Yup, I was tanking leveling dungeons on alts pulling 3 or 4 packs, and dps were still pulling extra stuff to me.

I came to the forums and said something and all the replies were “lol regular leveling dungeons.”

LOL the meta speed runner is using SL gems to reach speed cap, as well as playing fury with the speed proc on kill.

If they aren’t waiting at places in the dungeon, you aren’t keeping up.

As long as they clear the run then that’s fine.

If a boss can’t be skipped, how do the tanks skip em?

Not if you leave after the run is over too.

Form your own groups.

Woe is dps.

It’s been a while since I did a speed set but using gems and the speed food for killing mobs I was only up to like 120% do you know how fast they’re going compared to you?

Yesterday, very fast. Pulled whole blood furance without stopping. Ran all the way to the bottom, Killed boss. Immediately disappeared. Died Instantly too a trash mob since I was right behind tank when he left.

You’re right it’s not a speedrun.

It’s not uncommon for me to have 20+ minute queues for TWing.

Yeah, so you’re telling us that level 11’s are running BC dungeons also? During Wrath TW?

That’s a turn I wasn’t expecting. Interesting.

Agreed. If dungeons were blank hallways with mob packs spaced out every so often I would agree that speed runs were “by design”.

At this point we are one step off from just removing dungeons and putting gear on the shop to make it “more efficient”.

It’s akin to the guy that blazed past you on the freeway… He gets to work 30 secs faster than you everyday but then spends a bunch of time pulled over or dead… There is a saying, “slow and steady wins the race”.

If the developers want to spend time and effort on dungeons for people to ignore all their work and just hit their mobility skills then I suggest they just stop bothering to put any detail or effort into WOW at all. I mean why bother if its all about “go fast bro”.

disagree… now we have net zero.

I can tank 100 dungeons and run as fast as I can and nobody will ever complain.
