I have to agree the ideology and thought of treating regular retail should not be a esport game and ESPORT WOW should be an entirely separate game.
I think its hilarious that bliz has lvl 11 tanks that rip TW apart - knock knock - whos there, Bliz, Bliz who, Bliz we failed hard
Speak only for yourself.
Some people have never been to the dungeon yet. Or haven’t done the quests and actually enjoy playing the game and not rushing through everything with end game being the only goal.
Rushing serves no goal that is for the common good
Some people are making up for the way tanks USE to be…some are just not good players and think that running like that is in some way helpful. Either way, you gotta take the good with the bad and if you got a tank like that, just keep running and dont attack anything. F#%^'em. Any tank that can read the group and doesnt care isnt a tank. I may get blow back for saying that, but idgaf what peanut galleries got to say.
But there are some good points to all these comments in some regard other than the people that spur it on. This game moves worlds faster than it ever has and some people want to do as much as they can before they swap because of an army of alts. Or, they really dont give a sh:t and can self sustain without care or concern.
Either way, it wasnt much better when tanks were slow and had to fight for aggro.
So as a long time WoW player (Cata kid here) I have only just recently discovered the wonderful world of Twnk toons maybe, about a year ago. I have one on Ali and Horde. I have found they are amazing for helping your friends or even just strangers speed run and power level. Just last night I helped an entire group of Lvl 80 strangers finish their TW in a flash. They were grateful and it just felt fantastic to help out. You could say I enjoy playing a helpful twnk toon more than my high level toons even. Something the level 80 players said tho was interesting. They said Classic TW at an all 80 party could take awhile cause mobs hit like trucks for some reason. So I mean, they were really grateful to have me there. And, I’m always happy to help ^-^
TW is a terrible way to experience content for the first time. You get paired with players who’ve done it 1000 times and have no interest in taking their time. Complaining in forums and hoping all those strangers will slow down for you is unrealistic; most players don’t even come to forums, and speedrunning super-easy dungeons has been the norm for 20 years.
If you want to slow down and really enjoy an instance, you absolutely can. You can solo these old dungeons outside of TW and go as slow as you like, savor every voice-over, explore all the nooks and crannies… You can even use group finder to find friends to do it with you.
Exactly, and posting about it in forums that most players never even visit isn’t going to change anything.
I enjoy playing the game, including exploring old dungeons and raids (what we call “legacy content”). But I have no illusions about forcing 4 random strangers to go slow and wait while I explore. Those random strangers don’t work for me and may not want what I want. It’s random and you never know what you’ll get, but the norms for 20 years have been to go as fast as the content allows. For TW, Blizz tuned it so ridiculously easy that experienced players can complete it about as fast as they can run.
Why did Blizz make it so easy? Idk, but probably because players complain every time they make it even a little bit challenging. As long as it’s so easy it’s silly, most players are going to treat it like a track meet. Just like Remix.
If you want a bunch of random strangers to slow down and carefully pull each pack, you have to be in an instance where that’s necessary. I might enjoy TW dungeons tuned that way, but these forums would be on fire with players complaining if Blizz tried it.
Yes it was. Is your memory fading? Majority of players have always gone slower when they had to, faster when they could. Exceptions, of course, just like now. Joining groups of random strangers and hoping you’ll get 4 exceptions is unrealistic.
These threads keep happening because of unrealistic expectations. People saying…
- We want super easy dungeons.
- We want to do them nice and slow.
- We don’t want to make friends or form custom groups.
- We want to use anonymous queue system to group with random strangers, and for random strangers to do things our way.
Like seriously? Why would you expect that to work?
It wasn’t. If 99% of people play a certain role, they are by definition expendable. It wasn’t a shot at dps.
I’ll disagree with the last part, generally 4 people want to go fast and 1 or maybe 2 want to experience the dungeon “normally,” in their mind. Since most people want fast and majority rules in voting it would seem it suits its purpose for the majority.
In regards to experience the dungeon for the first time why not start a guild or group for it? There are so many posts whining about the fury warriors you should have plenty of people willing to join.
Says the guy literally advocating he be allowed to prevent 4 other people from playing by running through and one shotting everything under the sun. You demand consideration but give none.
Once again demanding that your opinion is the voice for the group… You truly are amazing in your lack of insight.
And you demanding everyone else “suck it up and deal” is you trying to speak for everyone in the group too by that logic, so pot meet kettle. Once again you don’t get to demand 4 other people give up their ability to play purely because you want to be a one man army.
Why are you refusing to acknowledge that vote-kick is a thing?
Why are you refusing to acknowledge that’s only a band-aid solution that forces someone on one side or the other to eat a penalty they shouldn’t be eating? Why are you so bent on “must keep status quo” even though they can separate the group pools and both sides win? Or just revert to the previous scaling that didn’t have this issue.
You keep saying this over and over – and it is pure nonsense. You keep talking for everyone else in WoW as if you know what every other player wants. Why? I understand you are trying to make it seem like you have some sort of solid argument but you don’t. You just sound foolish. The only person you get to make that claim for is yourself. Period. You get to say “I don’t think someone should be able to take away my ability” but when you do that it makes you responsible to find a solution for yourself and you simply don’t want to do that, because the solutions exist.
They want to be able to set pace like the tank, without being the tank. It’s not more complex than that really.
Why not?
People are acting like " tank" is a needed role in timewalking a dps dh, dk, and war can regenerate enough to solo it. Though the war needs to be more careful.
No need to wait on some loser tank.
You’re literally sitting here ranting about how you supposedly have this majority and how everyone “doesn’t want a slog” as though you know what they want yourself. So again pot meet kettle. You’re nothing but a hypocrite.
The only fools here are people hiding behind twinks because they’re not good enough to clear stuff the normal way without exploits. So long as they get what they want screw everyone else. Also by your own standard, you don’t get to sit here and say “no one wants a slog” when you just criticized me for what you called speaking for others. If people like yourself didn’t have double standards you would have no standards.
This applies to you just as much as it does me. You say you don’t “want a slow slog”, then your solution is to form your own groups and run with twinks just as you’re always screaming at me “form your own groups.” You demand I form my own groups as the only solution yet you refuse to form your own groups to avoid your slogged runs. Practice what you preach first before you demand from me. “Form your own groups” only goes so far and doesn’t address the issue to start with.
Clearly you and I have different definitions of fun and what we want from the game. Both of us have a right to access and participate in public content we sign up for. Currently thanks to the twinks and people one shotting, folks like myself are being prevented from playing which is an issue. So how do we fix this so both sides can continue to utilize the group finder and play how they wish.
1: Revert the scaling to previous so this is a non issue.
2: separate the group pools like pvp already does. twinks and their pals one pool, folks like myself in another.
Now if we want more drastic stuff we could just get rid of twinking completely since it adds nothing of value to the game. However then we’re right back to one side not getting to play. If you want real solutions you will advocate the scaling be fixed and/or separate group pools. If you just want to troll you’ll continue to advocate the status quo.
Ball is in your court. Do you want actual solutions or do you want to troll?
Bro… its timewalking…
