I mean, DK could go fast, but my DH was pulling a passive mount speed from mastery gems and 49% speed with the mastery>movement talent. It could go pretty wild.
Careful that you don’t get hounded by the morons who are raging about how you’re trying to punish people for daring to suggest everyone should get to play instead of it being a 1 man show with 4 human followers.
Far too many entitled twits think they should be allowed to turn a 5 man activity into a solo event and if you dare say all 5 people should get to play, they whine and throw a tantrum about “you just want it to be more of a chore” and all that ridiculous hogwash. In other words they want group content rewards without actually having to participate in a group. Far too many morons thinking everything should be treated like an M+ World First Infinity run and wanting to hijack runs and tell everyone else to “suck it up” and so on.
At this point they need to put the twinks into their own queues and let people who want to speedrun everything group with them. Similarly for higher level content they need stop incentivizing the whole “go go go rush rush rush” mentality. And woe be unto the person that dares suggest everyone should get to play and not just mr twink or the speedrunner.
Blizzard has incentivized speed play since at least TBC with things like the ZA bear runs which included a timer to beat to obtain the mount. We’ve since had all sorts of content with timer and timer-like mechanics.
Blizzard has also incentivized over-geared players to run trivial content by putting in updated rewards like badges, currency, and cosmetics as rewards to keep content active even when the gear drops are long past useful.
Anyone who believes speed running or over-gearing content is a new thing or unintended (in general) is just ignorant.
And as long as I’ve played (off and on since TBC), it has always been the consensus that content is to be completed as fast as reasonably possible - almost no one has ever thought the idea was to go slow just to go slow (save maybe some hard-core RP types).
We can agree or disagree on what speed is ‘reasonably possible’, or point out issues with balance and scaling in certain content (Chromie Time / TW scaling is backwards and poorly done IMO), but the idea that most players are not going to try and complete content as quickly or as geared as possible is just laughable.
Vanilla with baron runs for the mount.
Does this have anything to do with being able to 1 shot everything while the other 4 people watch and do nothing?
No. It doesnt.
…faster it completes faster you get XP faster you get XP faster you lvl…what to lvl slow go kill bores in the forest.
I do the exact same thing.
Troll bait ^
It is my hope that you and I end up in a group together. It is going to alot of fun, for me, not so much you, and please utilize the vote kick option and see if the other three people in the group agree with you for wanting to kick the overpowered twink, that is power leveling them through old trivial content that is there for the express purpose of leveling.
You and the people with your opinion are clearly in the very small minority, so after I post this, I’m going to log in and play on a extremely overpowered twink in Timewalking, Im certain that I will have people asking for me to stay in group, I’ll get alot of thanks you’s from people for the power runs. You, however, feel free to slog through dungeons at sloth speed…
If anyone wants Look me up I’ll be running TW dungeons, using this character Im posting on… peace out, enjoy howling at the moon
I’m enjoying the fact that we can experience Remix speedrunning discourse every week now because of how they’ve retooled timewalking.
Your problems aren’t with characters built in particular ways, it’s with inconsiderate people. Don’t conflate the two.
" Dungeons ques are not speedruns"
When i am on my 15th alt trying to get to level 80 as fast as possible, they are speedruns. I don’t want to think about what dungeon it is i am running for the millionth time. I just want to kill the boss and get my exp as fast as possible. Make your own group if you want to sniff the flowers and sing camp songs together.
I’m not queuing up to spend all day in a dungeon I’ve done hundreds of times by now. I don’t out pace the tank but I’m not there to sight see. If the tank is going full speed, I just stay with them and don’t dps until they stop. It’s really not that difficult to do.
I remember all the post about how tanks were too slow and pulled all the optional bosses and unnecessary trash…
Now people are posting about complaints about tanks who just hyper pull and don’t stop pulling.
It’s gotten to the point where I’m just convinced some of y’all don’t know what you want.
The reality is I am a 632 Blood Death knight. Whether it’s time walking, or I have to do a weekly run through the rookery for a quest my main objective is to get to the end of that dungeon as fast as humanly possible.
My time is just as valuable as anybody else’s, If you have a problem with how tanks tank your dungeons, then I suggest making a tank and be the solution that you so desire.
There is an easy fix for the OP, but while Ion is in charge it will never change. All Blizz has to do is increase health of mobs high enough to force ALL healers to med, like they used to.
However, like I said, while Ion is in charge, this will never happen and go back to how dungeons were.
People have been complaining about hyper pulling since WLK.
As a returning player after a decade it was one of the first thing I noticed. I did not like it at all. Even did a mythic push for a few weeks trying for achievement of 2k. Been sitting at 1888 for month because they are just more stressful than fun. I think it is the seasons. First time having to deal with them and first time having to worry about not getting an achievement because we only have a few months to get it. I do not think I will make it to Midnight if I have to miss out because I play for entertainment and not for pretend competition.
I’ve been playing Classic and while there’s plenty about it I don’t miss in retail, the dungeon experience is just so much better by far. Not because it’s harder or because you need to use CC or anything like people normally say, but because I actually feel like I get to participate in any meaningful way in the dungeon at all.
Like, outside of raids and M+ in retail, any time I play a healer I basically feel like I might as well not even be there and don’t really feel like I’m doing much of anything, especially outside of the start of the expansion.
I don’t have to join a guild or be stressed out in a key in Classic, I just join a random dungeon group and I just heal and I actually feel like I get to participate in the dungeon without being overly stressed out or having to commit to a guild/raiding schedule.
I really miss that in retail and I feel like an outlet like that doesn’t exist anymore. Somewhere just to do casual dungeon content.
I disagree.
I main an 80 Paladin. When i queued as Holy, you just get dumped on repeatedly. People pull extra packs all the time either by accident or proximity or just carelessness. Blowing cooldowns on trash packs because the only 2 people who really HAVE to pay attention are tanks and healers.
Then i started queueing as prot because i got sick of it. Same results. People yelled at me for not pulling enough. Not going fast enough. Nobody CCs or cares about mechanic’s. I actually got kicked from a group because I called out people for not switching targets.
So I made a twink. And it’s a ton of fun. Eithers neither cheap nor easy to make one. So its not like it takes 0 effort.
That being said, I kill everything. And I never leave people too far behind. And I’ll always ask if someone has a quest or needs an optional boss. I’m there to play with people! I never turn someone down if they need something.
Just communicate man.
So much this - as with in ReMix, going fast isn’t usually a problem for most players, even if some shrug with a ‘oh well, guess I’m not contributing much to this run’.
But run off leaving the entire group behind while leaving up half the trash to slow or kill the others, kill the final boss, and then immediately drop group, and quite a few may end up ticked off.
When I play an overpowered character, I go fast, but I also grab and kill everything along the way and make sure everyone is alive and well, and wait at the end boss / any points where others may get locked out to make sure everyone gets credit.
Takes just a bit longer than Zippie McNarricist, but it is far less likely to have players complaining.
Kinda my mo for when I’m at work rn. Slow season for whatever reason
This is exactly how I like to it as well, There are some exceptions now however
