They were indirectly nerfed by the much better talents and itemization mostly.
But what level of Vanilla difficulty are you talking?
Pre 1.3 Vanilla was a lot harder than 1.12; the difference in difficulty is actually comical if you played the entire time.
The raw number of NPC’s removed / nerfed in the dungeons is enough to make a dungeon crawler cry.
NCP’s and Bosses through out the game were nerfed over time both directly and indirectly via class buffs and improvements.
Because of that “Vanilla Difficulty” is a very flexible term.
You can at least attempt to do the best you can instead of having faceroll MC that every decent guild will steamroll. The PvP system is designed around being unemployed, so there isn’t anything to do at 60 except steamrolling every week for a couple hours.
the Uldaman final boss was level 50 or 51 at one point, then they nurfed him to lvl 47. I also 100% remember the dwarfs inside Uldaman being Elites then they made them none elites.
Funnily enough this is exactly how they poll in the real world too.
Don’t give the answer option most people actually want to answer and instead replace it with something that sounds negative.
That way the answer you want seems more positive and is more likely to get votes.
Biased polls are really cancerous and it’s just sad to see them constantly happen all around the world.
Sorry but Blizzard ahve the accurate 1.12 experience down numberswise which those amateurs CAN’T do.If they can’t get the numbers right then it’s not authentic.
I’m sorry you don’t think patch 1.12 is part of classic or authentic but it is.
Defcamp on Melderon on dungeon difficulty:
tl;dw it’s too easy and not fun compared to pservers. Melderon ran WC on his shaman and didn’t stop and drink even once.
Also, the players he pugged with hadn’t played WoW in years and were in quest gear.
So, YES for me. A healthy amount of difficulty is good for the game. Doesn’t have to be an esport, but it should keep you engaged and make you feel satisfied when you complete it.
Do the dungeons under leveled then.
Do the dungeons under leveled then.
That’s like telling someone who complains about the lack of player interaction in BFA to simply engage with other players.
People can only create their own fun to a certain extent, and that’s where game design comes in- to motivate players to play in a certain way that is fun and rewarding.
Do you have some numbers in mind? How much should Blizzard buff the dungeons until it’s fun for you?
Do you have some numbers in mind? How much should Blizzard buff the dungeons until it’s fun for you?
Sure. The numbers that Defcamp and Melderon threw out there (who have been playing pservers for years for comparison) is around 30% or so. (i.e., HP/dmg should be increased by about this amount).
Others in this thread have pointed out that classes/talents were significantly buffed from 1.1-1.4 to 1.12. So this would help compensate for that to provide a healthier level of difficulty.
Some classes more than others. Some classes had some abilities at the earlier levels made weaker as well.
How much time should Blizzard spend re-balancing every dungeon with every Class and spec in mind?
This is not going to happen, no chance in hell.
It’s not really that complicated.
Kronos 1 dungeons were based off 1.12 and players constantly complained about it being too easy.
Meanwhile Nost dungeons were overtuned and it became the most popular pserver and the main reason we’re getting Classic today.
Suboptimal classes/specs were always suboptimal, but players have improved since the days of 1.12 to get the most out of them. Also, for the most part, classes were buffed from 1.1 to 1.12, at least for PvE. Most nerfs during this time were PvP related.
So the numbers need to be buffed by 30% to provide challenge to private server players who have been playing for years.
Sounds like a bad idea, nothing should be tuned with private server players in mind.
So the numbers need to be buffed by 30% to provide challenge to private server players who have been playing for years.
They’re not throwing a number out to challenge themselves, they’re giving a number that they think will be best for the game.
Also, the majority of pserver players are essentially just like any other player. Most Nost players for example, are not hardcore minmaxers.
No changes to difficulty.
No changes to difficulty.
No changes from what? Vanilla as a whole? or 1.12, the easiest state of Vanilla difficulty?
I get that they went with 1.12 because it’s the most polished version of the game, but it was by far the easiest version, which is not really a good thing.
Okay, let’s play the best for the game, game.
I think Guild Banks would be the best for the game. In Vanilla, officers shared accounts and had multiple alts for Guild storage. This is going to be nigh impossible in Classic, due to numerous security factors. They should put Guild Banks in to restore this functionality.
I think Guild Banks would be the best for the game.
Don’t disagree. Probably one of the changes that most people would be okay with.
Bu-
Wait.
My expectations have been subverted.
