In WotLK, when it belongs.
Support the idea. And that is all that it was. An idea. Did not work that way in practice.
The way the talent point system is implemented, there is a best way to spend points. Maths don’t lie. Every DPS warrior I knew had the same build. When I’m putting together my tank spec, I don’t ask myself “What kind of tank donI envision myself playing as?”. I just pick the talents that let me be the best at my role.
They hoped people would identify with a spec. But again. I can change it 10x a day everyday if I choose. I identify with having fun and playing with other people and doing the best I can. Dual spec allows us to do that with our pointless trips to the class trainer every time I want to tank a dungeon.
You cant tho. You have to make a decision to spend the 50g if its worth it to you. Then you have to go to the trainer and redo all your talent points to the new spec you want. That’s not a moments notice. That’s a thought out decision and then action taken. With consequences. (50g… And loss of your other spec.)( with additional 50g to spec back if you so choose)
Semantics. By “At a moment’s notice”, I meant nothing but the annoyance of running to a trainer and rebuilding my UI is stopping me from swapping from one spec to another. There is zero long lasting consequences to choosing a spec, because if I don’t like it, or if I need another build, I just go change it again.
You’re welcome to your opinion but it is contradictory to the intentions of Blizzard as they spoke on the matter 16 years ago. Bloomsday’s argument was not “delusional drivel”, it is correct
Just like the ones that cried after getting their chrono beacon for the world buffs because they had to use multiples to maximize the buff uptime.
Lol. Are you under the impression we are playing the same game as we were 16 years ago? There was a huge call for Dual Spec in the original TBC. Blizzard eventually realized that it made sense for players to enjoy multiple facets of their characters.
Blizzard isn’t infallible. They have admitted as such and made changes to hopefully improve on the experience. Dual Spec would be one of those changes that accomplishes that.
If Blizzard truly believed that a spec choice should matter, then they wouldn’t have given us the option to alter it.
And that’s what I’m here for.
Your argument is basically “I know what Blizzard intended for WoW more than the Blizzard employees did at the time”.
No thanks, and I’ve already respecced several times.
nice edit there
still seems like a player input problem to me
nice headcanon
maybe on wrath
Dual spec would throw off how arenas were a big money sink at the end of TBC because while the gear was raid-quality you still had to spec in and out of pvp talents weekly if you wanted to take it seriously.
Blizz might not care tho since everyone will be paying to boost into wrath.
Then you need to brush up on your reading comprehension. I’m 100% sure some devs at Blizzard envisioned a game where players would build a spec that they could identify with and that would be something they could play with and have fun and that be that.
I’m not now, nor have I ever argued against what Blizzard hoped would happen.
Problem is that isn’t what happened. That isn’t the game they made. And they knew that. Hence the ability to change spec being added in the first place.
And the fact that they added Dual Spec shows that they realized it was important for players to have quick access to more than one build.
This is TBCC. Not TBC. “Some Changes” is an officially endorsed slogan.
The other argument the pro-dualspec people need to address is Dual Speccing was one of the major hallmarks that made Wrath of the Lich King good. You would be taking away a HUGE amount of that product’s resale value if Dual Spec was no longer a premier feature.
edit: the only way I see a possible compromise between players who want dual spec and moneybags actiblizz is if the lost value of moving dual spec from Wrath to TBC is made up in the form of it being a purchasable service option from the store. Then the only ones angered would be the #nochanges people which oopsies that’s 3/4 of your tbc classic population so pissing them off isn’t a good thing either.
You still out of luck, even if you can change specs as a healer it’s the gear that enables you to do dmg. Nice try and go back to retail
Yo it’s super obvious you never played TBC because you could raid in the arena gear then and some of it was even bis for holy.
If Wrathbwas your peak just come back for it.
Wow, that’s a pretty low bar.
