Dual Spec.. please?

It would be if I was making that argument. If you had bothered to read, or had the ability, you would have read that I clearly stated I ran lower level dungeons with lower level alts in BC and vanilla with dual spec.

No because dual-spec didn’t exist until wrath.

You are arguing you ran Classic and BC dungeons using a wrath feature. Don’t try to twist my words into something I’m not saying

character boost didint exist until WoD

and I was against the character boost being added as well. One unfaithful feature doesn’t mean we should open the floodgates and change anything and everything.

yes it does

Blizzard should Really give us some feedback on this Topic, Dual spec is in VERY high demand by the community. It will just enable more access to the game/content period.

I know a couple have suggested to put a price on dual spec, but want my honest opinion?
Make it Free, no cost. It should be easy to use and making it free just make sense.

This will help with the Tank and Healer shortages and its a big QoL change for the game.

Correct, but off topic.

I disagree. Do two lies make truth?

Buzz off troll, that’s not what I meant and you know it. You’re so painfully disingenuous and trolly with every single thing you post I’m surprise you aren’t forum banned.

If you ask people if they want more free icecream they will invariably offer enthusiastic support. If you keep giving it to them on that basis a percentage will get fat and have heart attacks as a result. Needless to say if they knew that was the result they may not have been so enthusiastic.

Dual spec is not an inconsequential change. If you allow dual spec to be used inside an instance (as an example) you end up invalidating quite a few classes and spec niches. Niches are a big part of TBC. Druid Tanks for instance are valuable at least in part because of the dps they can produce when not Tanking. Imagine if Warriors and Pallys could do the same?

The law of unintended consequences is something we should expect with this sort of change. You want it but do you really know what you’ll get if you have it?

rofl.

They already can.

Prot Paladins could put on DPS gear and do the same thing but it doesn’t appear to be something anyone is doing. Hell, I’ve done over 1,100 DPS on Illhoof with almost full healing gear and no DPS talents.

Bad argument is bad, really bad.

In the first tier. Again the pro dual spec argument is being very shortsighted about a change that is potentially game play impacting.

My argument isn’t a bad one. The bad argument here is “we all want it so you should give it to us”.

Because noone ever regrets getting what they ask for … not

#nochanges

I’m not shortsighted at all.

It will positively affect almost every single player’s gameplay experience. Tons of people from Nostalrius devs to people from APES have been talking about Dual Spec and other changes.

Blizzard has surely seen all the arguments and requests. It’s up to them to decide if they’ve learned from their failed “No-changes” philosophy, or not.

Just came by to add a :hearts:

Will be doing that for everyone advocating for dual spec.

At the very best, holding out for Phase 2 implementation.

To be clear, I am not making a claim about you personally. It’s the argument I believe is shortsighted. You may have very robust reasons but I’m yet to be convinced by the ones offered so far.

My comment is not a criticism or reflection of you and I’m not trying to cause offence. It’s the argument and not you personally that I am trying to address here. /Peace.

Edit:
The argument I was specifically addressing was the one raised by DJDave, that because a majority want the change it should be implemented. That argument specifically, is a shortsighted one.

By the way, I’m in the #somechanges camp. But not this one.

Oh, look! I can buy a level 58 boost from the store right now.

And, what’s this?! My Alliance Paladin can use Seal of the Martyr now!

Oh, and have you seen the Rift Stalkers lately? Apparantly you can ride them!

Gee, it’s almost like…

Honestly this would be the change, no dual spec just remove the overpriced 50g “fee” 10g is a deterrent to not do it every 5 minutes, and we can farm that much pretty quickly if so needed.

That is something I’d get behind. 10g would be the sweet spot too.

There is room for change but change shouldn’t mean completely redesigning the game to suit the communities whims… Changes should be small and maintainable, with limited impact. The least amount of change required to solve the problem.

Dual spec is not a small change, they delayed it originally in TBC until an expansion precisely due to gameplay implications.

TBC is a game balanced around niches. WoTLK is the opposite. All niche abilities were moved into baseline class abilities for wrath. Dual spec was part of that design shift.

Dual spec in TBC will likely brake various raid comps.

People do different things for different reasons because they’re different people. The only reason I play this game is for fun and I’ll continue to heal dungeons long after there’s no gear for me just for the fun of it.

Just one case in point.

I know for a fact that if dual spec gets implemented in the same way it was in wrath but for TBC I will be speccing into a turtle tank spec and a hybrid dps OT spec. We will be ditching non warriors as they won’t be needed (maybe keep some Pallys for AoE and fast hitters).

At the moment my usecase is pure defence - we have a druid as a dps rage tank.

People say it won’t go down this way, but it’s exactly what I plan to do with a second spec.

I’ll just pay 50g which is easy enough to come by, for Arenas.

I’ll probably pug as dps and tank for guild, though why not let the Pallys handle heroics? I’ll just be PvP/dungeon dps outside of my dedicated raid specs. I don’t need much from heroics now so I can wait.

I’m just one dude but I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one thinking this way. Edit: in a casual non min/max guild - but even here raid comp matters, especially where we still struggle on some bosses (one specifically).

At the moment I do Heroics
So, to alleviate queues you will end up with offspecced under geared “Tanks”.

I currently pug Tank a quite a few heroics for some sidegrade pieces and because I’m bored. I go prot because I don’t want to pay for a respec.
