Where is the evidence it had to do with dual spec? Did they hear “Wrath has DS” and they all rushed to play? Or were they told about how awesome WoW was with story, classes, dungeons, raids, etc? What contributed more to Wrath’s success do you think?
Putting a lie in quotes doesn’t make it a quote. Blizzard has included a quote function in this forum. Use it to directly guote a supporter of dual spec or admit you’re a liar.
Overall this topic boils down to New booty kids wanting changes to a classic game. Dual spec isn’t coming to TBC because it was a Wrath feature. You all can keep bickering and debate but it won’t change the fact that Dual spec isn’t going to be added until Wrath is pushed out. These kids playing nowadays are claiming to be hardcore why trying to change a nerfed-down game.
And even though most of those accounts created during wrath potentially never reached past level 20… that somehow is indicative of its popularity? Just because more people accessed it during wrath in no way shape or form indicates it was more well liked, more fun, or as you say “popular” than any other iteration of the game.
Forgive me for arguing semantics but specifically it requires more players coming in than going out. Players quitting for all sorts of reasons is almost always going to be a thing. Ideally new players picking up the game would be as well, but it simply can’t be guaranteed the same way.
After all these years I really have to wonder about the numbers of WotLK. It seems incongruous that only half a million people started playing the game during that time. Clearly not all 12 million players were brand new as it had to have some kind of staying power. The only people who could give an accurate representation of how many classic and early-TBC players were still around when Cataclysm launched all either work or worked for Blizzard and they have absolutely nothing to gain by sharing that data.
We can speculate all we want but that’s not actually productive.
Zandalari Troll Paladin calling me, who has played Classic since day one and basically hasn’t touched retail since then, a “kid” is amusing. I’ve played since 2005 and know what changes led us down what paths. I know what changes made the game better and what changes made the game worse.
Dual Spec made the game better.
Being in a flexible spec could be considered the most ideal. Being in a flexible spec when you can instantly swap between two specs would not be optimal. It’s playing slightly less optimally to have that flexibility. It’s not killing the argument at all and instead PROVES why dual-spec would make it so raid teams would require you to be in the optimal spec at all times.
Completely your opinion, which you are stating as a fact. Please del don’t do this
I’m retired. I started playing vanilla when I was about 48. What ever the age of the players during BC adding dual spec was a common request 15 years ago. By the end of vanilla the devs realized dual spec was wanted and needed and they started working on it. It was a large project to implement so we didn’t get it until Wrath. But since that work has already been done they could import it into BC now
Well that’s just, like your opinion, man.
To be perfectly honest, Dual-spec did help me enjoy Wrath more. But Taking everything in, it seems clear that it was designed for Wrath, it was implemented in Wrath, and I just don’t agree that it should be put into BCC.
So by that line of thinking blizz is currently working on implementing dual spec but it won’t be ready until WotLk classic, you guys have already won you just have to wait for the hard work to get done!
everyone thinks their favorite change made the game better. doesn’t make it true.
Yeah I started playing in January of 2005 my opinion is supreme.
Since this isn’t a new game the hard work to make it has already been done. According to the devs there was little work needed to release BC since the work was already done in Classic and the game was already completed. The same could be said of wrath. The game is already done, they’ve don’t have to create the software for dual spec, just make it fucntional with BC
Your opinion matter to you and I do respect it. However, Blizzard doesn’t care as it WAS and IS a FEATURE of wrath. Your opinion aligns with a lot of new players who in fact are younger. Lots of people came back to this game for nostalgia which gets crushed by lots of original players when they start changing things. So reguardless of your age? Why would blizzard bring a Wrath feature to TBC classic?? Do you have the numbers to support your claim that people want it?
what are you talking about lol
And that is the point I am trying to make by asking for evidence. Even then those at Blizzard can’t explain it. I do this stuff for a living. Businesses like Walmart, Costco, etc have seen a large increase in profits. COVID 19 of course, easy enough to explain right? It’s compromised of many things, people hoarding, opportunists buying for resale, stimulus money, large unemployment benefits, some businesses giving hazard pay or bonuses. These all compromise the Trend so we refer to it as “The Pandemic” as we can’t actually explain the reasons more one way or another.
It’s the same here with Wrath. Wrath was more successful, it had a story many grew up with from WC 3. It was shown with Cata at Blizzcon there were many players who had no idea who Deathwing was just as few people knew the true first Death Knight Teron Gorefiend. The zones, the over all story, people being compelled to see it through to the end, dungeons, raids like Ulduar receiving critical acclaim, and yes even dual spec and LFG were all features in this that compromise success.
The thing here is however, is how big a success was dual spec exactly? How much of Wrath’s success was because of that feature? We can’t prove that it was overwhelmingly impactful. Just like I can’t prove it wasn’t. What I can prove is it didn’t fix the tank/healer shortage like it’s being championed as doing. So when those who clamor for it and demand that it be implemented as it will “Make the game better Wrath proved it.” I need some actual proof of that claim. It will make it better… for them. But there has never been proof for it as a whole for the game indeed making it “better” for everyone.
The thing is, that wasn’t exactly true, now was it? Guild banks still aren’t implemented, the group searching tool isn’t in, all we have is a horrible global spam channel. There are bug hotfixes several times a week. For a game that was already finished, even “the easy stuff” hasn’t proven to be quite as easy as expected.
And that’s just looking at the obvious things that Blizzard has already stated they’ll bring in.
So… me playing a Zandalari troll paladin just discredits my opinion? You have been playing since 2005? you alone can judge the best and worst? You are not full of yourself at all huh? I started playing MMORPG’s long ago and I use to play with Blizzard employees on EQ back when I was fires of wrath guild and Blizzard had a guild called Legacy of Steel. I got invite to closed beta WoW, where is my cookie at? Do i get a boss sticker like you? Like I told the undead lady, go get some numbers to support your claim as there will be no wrath feature coming to TBC unless you got player support.
Why not death knights in TBC? that would draw lots of new players!!!
Why is it the some people always assume blizzard agrees with them. If keeping wrath features in wrath and not adding them early was important to them they wouldn’t have changed the seals in BC with a wrath change
I doubt you have even a small clue about the age of the players. Link to your age related data if it exists. It’s just your way of insulting people who disagree with you, just call them kids,
