I’ll optimize for the content by choosing a dps spec on my druid. That’s how many people with a tank or healer option optimize for the content. A dps spec is good at questing and farming and can even pvp pretty wel. Even though I’ll do less dungeons as dps than as a healer choosing a dps spec is the be optimization tactic.
If I wanted duel spec, I’d play retail.

LOL nice try actually. Could people ride those things in Hellfire? NOPE.
When I see people on them, I think “oh yea, this isn’t the REAL burning crusade. its not 2007”
Which is exactly the spirit of what people wanted in a 2021 Burning Crusade reboot
The previous comment implied that a policy that is supported by a majority is morally justified. Pertaining that to the game it would indicate that person believes a policy in game supported by a majority is “morally” justified, or whatever the gaming equivalent of that would be.
Yeah and in the real burning crusade did we have 60% of people running around in full Naxx bis? Not a justification for adding dual specialization. If that is justification for adding it than why not add the entirety of retail into the game since the immersion Broke muh back
Good you are starting to understand!
I understand that those against dual spec don’t care how many people can’t find groups and don’t want anything done to make it easier to find a group.
I play a rogue, believe me I am well aware of the struggles. Still not a justification for adding dual specialization… your argument fails on the basis that even after dual spec was added blizzard needed to further incentivize queuing as a healer/tank by literally giving you rare drop mounts in a bag after doing dungeons.
I myself got the Green Proto Drake from one of those bags and I have never grinded oracles rep.
It only fails if I claimed dual spec would fix the problem. I only claim it will increase the number of tanks and healers and make the problem less severe. A small improvement is better than no improvement at all
And what evidence do you have that proves this? They add dual specialization and instantly all dps warriors/holy or ret paladins/ balance and resto Druids will just have a tank set and be jumping into dungeons at a moments notice? No… that’s not going to happen lmfao people play what they want to play, and someone who needs to run a dungeon for dps loot isn’t going to go tank and then force the dps to roll against the tank… and if that is the case I’d rather not even go.
Can you believe some of these manbabies? Oh well, now that you’re here we can finally have a thoughtful and reasoned discourse. Tell us more of your thoughts on the 40 year old boomer manbabies.
They just refuse to look at the history of tanks and healers in WoW.
Wrath: DS is introduced, not enough tanks and healers.
Cata: Call to Arms introduced, still no tanks and healers.
Blizzard massively buffs threat for tanks, lowers threat generation of DPS… STILL not enough tanks
Blizzard messes with mana essentially giving healers infinite mana bars. Still not enough healers
Blizzard changes tanking to be more “engaging” worrying about mitigation for a unique playstyle, still not enough tanks.
Blizzard homogenizes gear so you can slap on a weapon and shield with your DPS gear and be tank ready out the gate. You wanna guess what there still isn’t enough of?
This is a strawman argument. It’s the debate you want to have because it’s so ridiculous you can easily win it. But it’s not the argument those of us who want dual spec are making. No one is saying all or that it will make it so dps can find a group at a moments notice. If dual spec is added some will add a tanking or healing spec and the shortage will be less severe. I could say that my experience with dual spec in wrath was that it was easier to find groups but I can’t prove that. Neither can you prove that dual spec didn’t increase the number of tanks and healers.
But the evidence is in these threads. I would heal with my druid if there was dual spec. I didn’t heal in BC because it just wasn’t fun to quest or farm in a resto spec. I healed with my druid in wrath when dual spec came out. There have been many who posted the same thing. No one can prove how many people added a tank or healer spec but some will
Yeah the argument is dead in regard to it adding more tanks or even remotely resolving that issue. This is just them attempting to co opt another argument and spin their change as a solution to it in order to justify it in some way other than “I don’t want to have to make money in the game for respecs”
I’ve said it before, it’s a twist on words here. They are using something they have as leverage to get what they really want. It’s not some uncommon tactic when you want to bargain. I just don’t care to bargain that way. “I could tank or heal with DS!” You could tank or heal right now… but you aren’t. They magically expect us to believe they’ll personally tank and heal up a storm. They think PvPers are suddenly going to tank and heal in abundance instead of having a DPS PvE spec for content. That these people are going to be spamming en masse begging DPS to join them. It’s sheer lunacy. These people will still try to take their tanks and healers and only heal or tank when they can’t get one and it’s back to trying to take their tanks and healers.
It hasn’t addressed the problem, and it never will for the community. It’s all about personal benefit and satisfaction.
Where is your evidence that adding dual spec didn’t add more tanks and healers and didn’t make it easier to find groups? Please link to the data.
The onus isn’t on me to justify why the game is the way it is, I am not the one trying to change it.
It is sheer lunacy. That’s why no one who wants dual spec ever makes that claim. It’s nothing but your strawman argument.
This is exactly what I play (“Restokin”). I love it.
And I enjoy that the TBC game model enables this type of player choice.
It makes each talent choice meaningful, thought through, and gives my character even more differentiation in terms of identity.
This is a diversion tactic you’re using because we saw through your strawman argument and you have no rational response to the arguments we’re actually making
