Saving up Is a 1000 gold to buy dual spec once is very ministcule in comparison to probably the thousands people probably spend on a 100 gold respect every single time.
Which was to give it to us.
Hmm… the same way they pay for their main spec, and hey guess what that they’ll be spending time in game gearing that spec further increases how much they’ll be playing because of dual spec.
But you said people would rather log out then farm if they have limited time to play. so how are they making gold for dual spec.
It does it makes complete sense Because now players have choice.
Well they have choice now - but the choice costs more, per respec (as opposed to a one off ds fee).
Your assumption is that having more, easier, less impactful choices engenders more game play. It is the opposite to my assumption that having more impact on the choices made leads to greater player engagement.
In short the argument here is boiling down to those who think the game design philosophy of WoTLK had it right vs those who think the design team behind TBC had it right.
I know you’ve claimed that both design teams weren’t much different and that their design philosophy was mostly the same, but if I were to agree with you on that we’d both be wrong. There’s documented evidence about the design changes and the changes in the leadership and direction of the dev teams between both versions of the game. It’s well established.
But you said people would rather log out then farm if they have limited time to play. so how are they making gold for dual spec.
Actually since most of gearing a second spec will be bop’s they would be actually using that second spec to gear it, not just dumping gold to gear it
But that’s just basic game mechanics.
It depends on how you see it And again let me also remind you of a couple of things back in 2007 we didn’t have a tank shortage.
This and also this is something a lot of people forget at least this was the case on my server When dual speck got introduced there was a lot more.
Is healers and tanks In fact I can tell you I started tanking because of duel speck Because the reason I never tried it was and like well I have to get a secondary gear is 3 gear set and I have to respect every single time.
And I was content with just being ADP S however I always did want to try tanking but it just throws too much of a buried entry at the time.
But when dual speck was introduced I was like Hey I have a choice I can try it In fact I actually tried healing too in fact.
Which I learned I didn’t really care for but that’s nor here nor there And yes I play the paladin and wrath.
My point is when you make the buried entry so high your limiting the amount of people that are willing to try it.
Anyone know how I can say that the proof is right in retail yes I’m completely well aware there’s many different reasons why this comparison is a little different.
However Is conduit energy, And covenant switching.
You either played the game super hardcore or you just picked what your most optimal choice for that specific role and stuck with it and never switch.
Is Y because it was not worth the time investment or workisn’t or work involved to try something else Is unless the thing you were doing was super overpowered which with the way blizzard balances who knows how often that was.
But my point stands This whole idea behind oh because there’s a cast behind me having to switch it’s so much more meaningful.
It doesn’t work for a game like World of Warcraft especially a game like burning or Sade like it or not if you’re going to pvp You need to be geared And spect for it.
Advice versa It’s just the way we play the game it’s just that simple
both factions the Paladin Seals,
I dont play pally so i dont know how this affects the class
Boosting and Shop goodies
Greed. I dont agree with it
gated PvE content
Explain? because im not sure i understand.
inconsistent release of patterns/recipes
In an effort to play it so content is more genuine and challenging?
I dont play pally so i dont know how this affects the class
Irrelevant. Whether or not you know how this affects the class has nothing to do with the fact that it wasn’t in TBC originally and wasn’t put into the game until WotLK.
I dont agree with it
Again, irrelevant. Whether or not you agree with it has no bearing on the fact that it’s there.
Explain? because im not sure i understand.
Phase-by-phase progression was never a part of the original TBC experience.
In an effort to play it so content is more genuine and challenging?
Are you saying this is an exception?
If so, you have a particular limitation in mind to what changes are or are not feasible. In which case, where are you drawing the line and why shouldn’t Blizzard cross that line?
Irrelevant.
Its not because if this makes the class playable so that people will actually play the class then not really. I dont mind changes if they are to preserve in some capacity the authenticity of the game
Phase-by-phase progression was never a part of the original TBC experience.
True. But people have been playing the game for 15 years. If they did a content dump like they did originally then it would be cleared in months and the purpose of this is to present content in a fashion that allowed player to play the game over a course of time. People originally didnt have 15 years of raid experience and clear the tbc content in 3 months

Anything that would streamline the game or allow content to be steam rolled, content to be abused, mechanics to be abused, ect i think is ok to make small incision like changes.
I dont think that Dual Spec falls under the “this benefits the authenticity of the given expansion” in the same way that adding the tinnitus debuff to war drums does.
I dont mind changes if they are to preserve in some capacity the authenticity of the game
Changes don’t preserve authenticity. By definition.

Uh-huh.

Good. Then you should have no problem with Dual Spec.

Disagree
Uh-huh.
yup
Good. Then you should have no problem with Dual Spec.
You asked “where are you drawing the line in the sand” and i explained “Streamlining” would be my line in the sand.
So no im not ok with dual spec LOL
You asked “where are you drawing the line in the sand” and i explained “Streamlining” would be my line in the sand.
TBC Already did that back in the day, why do you hate TBC?
Disagree
Uh-huh.
You asked “where are you drawing the line in the sand” and i explained “Streamlining” would be my line in the sand.
Correct. Dual Spec is about streamlining the game.
Unless, of course, you’re against streamlining. In which case you gotta explain why you’re playing the game when stuff like a level 58 boost exists.
That and the fact that that ground mounts cost less, they’re accessible at lower levels, bank slots cost less, and a whole lot of other stuff…
Unless, of course, you’re against streamlining.
Correct
In which case you gotta explain why you’re playing the game when stuff like a level 58 boost exists.
At no point did i say i wouldnt play the game if they introduced streamlining. Its my “line in the sand” in regard to me disagreeing if it fits the purpose of the expansion and whether or not i will or will not advocate for a change. Obviously with too many game impacting streamlining it might eventually make me not want to play but as it is right now those other streamlined changes dont have a large overall impact of level 70 endgame content
At no point did i say i wouldnt play the game if they introduced streamlining.
i explained “Streamlining” would be my line in the sand.
Oh, so even if you’re against something you’ll play the game anyway. Sorry, I thought you might be someone who stands on principle or something.
My mistake.
Sorry, I thought you might be someone who stands on principle or something.
Imagine being that closed minded that you wouldnt play a game because of 1 or 2 features you disagree with. Most people would just never play any game ever
Imagine being that closed minded that you wouldnt play a game because of 1 or 2 features you disagree with.
Isn’t that exactly what the anti dual spec crowd is threatening to do?
Imagine being that closed minded that you wouldnt play a game because of 1 or 2 features you disagree with.
The only one setting limitations here is you.
Isn’t that exactly what the anti dual spec crowd is threatening to do?
No? We are just trying to preserve the authenticity as much as possible. There have already been a number of changes some good some bad. We are trying to prevent what we believe would be a bad change.
