Restating the entitlement doesn’t make it any less entitled.
You are allowing yourself to play less than “knowing what you’re doing” because others will prop you up for “knowing what they are doing.”

If you do your job your not being carried.
A tanks job is to make sure the mobs don’t rape the healer. A dps job is to make sure the mobs die without getting killed themselves (aggro management, CC, kiting, and/or interupts) and the healers job is to heal the tank who keeps mobs off him and heal unavoidable damage on the dps and himself.
All of these things are doable with the entire group in non optimal specs if they have gear for their roles.
Let’s say you have a warrior acting as tank, a mage, a rogue, and a hunter with a priest a ting as healer.
Between the mage poly, hunter trap, slows from both and the rogue sap, stuns and interuots they can keep the mobs off the dps by having mage have aggro. The warrior is using taunt, charge, stuns, exc to help the mage kite, the priest is healing the warrior for the 2-3 hits he takes from taunt and heals the unavoidable damage and has a fear bomb when needed by the mage.
Between all that utility being used and the rogue using stuns and interupts to help the mage kite there is almost no damage taken. Playing properly>gear and speced right.

Apparently anyone not parsing 90+% is being carried according to these people. If the boss takes 300 DPS to beat it, and you do 350? Not being carried. Doesnt matter if everyone else is doing 450.
Now if your PERSONAL goal requires that everyone do 450 to beat the boss faster? then you can claim they are being carried towards meeting your goal. Which is kinda weird that you care but it is what it is. If that is the guild goal? Then dont bring anyone who doesnt share that goal. Problem solved.

So do pvp specs give more utility that can be used to make dungeons easier?
The point is you don’t need to be 100% optimized to be useful for the group.
Can a warrior taunt and charge without being tank speced? Can a mage use frost nova and sheep regardless of spec? Does a rogue need to be big dps to stun, sap, kick, gouge, exc?
You don’t need to be 100% optimized to do a dungeon.
I would rather have a warrior who has the gear and skill to tank that isn’t tank speced than a warrior who has no idea what he is doing but is in tank spec with tank gear.
The spec helps sure, but knowing what your doing is better.

I do less dps because I use scorpid sting instead of serpent sting. That 5% extra dodge is worth more than that dps I lose.
But according to these clowns I should just zug my dps and ignore my utility.
Hey now, once I died using frost shock to save a healer. We got the kill but lost my buffs.
Same when I save my earth shock to make sure it is up for interrupts, or leave a little early to make sure nothing prevents me from clicking my cube.
Apparently I was carried in those fights because a third party website gave me a green number.

That’s fair since I don’t like I am letting them know I don’t like it. Well at least until my sub expires in 22 days. I told them in my reason for cancelling my auto-renewal was because of not having dual spec. For the next 22 days you can guarantee that I will be on the forums letting them know my displeasure. I don’t even raid log at this point since most of my guild is quitting or transferring because of the game being boring or the state of alliance on my server.

Sounds like you were not enjoying your self anyway. Nothing wrong with deciding its not for you.
Guess I couldnt imagine letting something like this make me miserable for another 22 days above and beyond.

My PVE and PVP specs are completely different…I couldn’t do both with the same spec. Also, who cares about parses? I certainly do not. If I keep the boss angry at me and it dies, that is all the parse I need. In PVP I enjoy healing. The current system doesn’t allow me to be PVPing and then if a friend says “hey can you tank this for me real quick” to switch to help them and then go back to what I was doing. Is it for convenience? Yep, sure it, and without it, its a deal breaker.

You want to be carried, you made your intent very clear, because you’ve placed responsibility on everyone else to play better, spec appropriately, gear appropriately, etc. You can do as you want, because 5mans are easy, and EVERYONE ELSE will ensure that ease.

About as well as me continuing to pay for the game.
Carried sounds like they are not meeting the requirements of the activity, or meeting the stated expectations of the group/organization.
Explain how they are being carried by doing less damage, but still enough to clear the content if everyone operated at their level?
I like seeing big windfury crits so when its not a boss or hard trash I put on a two hander axe because its fun. Does that mean I was carried even though I still often top DPS for the group?
If the group stated that they want “big pumpers speed clears” or something along those lines you might have a point. but if they just said they wanted to do the dungeon then how was someone who successfully completed the dungeon carried?

Don’t take stuff out of context. Read the post it was directed to. They used taxes as an argument that people don’t know what their wishes would lead to.
And it was especially funny as that argument was made at a time, when it was leeched that people like Jeff or Warren almost paid no taxes. Even more sarcastic as Warren asked several times in the past years to increase taxes.
