That’s the entire point of the discussion. Some players are more casual and some are more hardcore. You are obviously of the hardcore category, and are clearly against a QoL feature geared towards casual players.
You don’t want to say your gold and play time because you’re likely embarrassed at how unhealthy your play time is.
Well here’s the grim reality, sweaty. Blizzard did this for the overwhelming amount of casuals. They will likely do the same with dual spec. How will this effect your personal gameplay experience. Will you have a harder time buying materials because of this? Will you have a harder time finding groups?
I do like TBC, but I would like it even more with this single simple feature. Like most of other people as several polls have shown.
Because we like TBC overall (class design, mechanics, raids, etc.) a lot. That doesn’t mean we should implement a wanted system a bit earlier that will come anyways when wrath classic is going to be released.
Why not implement a system that obviously will help out most people while barely harming anyone? Because you don’t like it for some questionable reasons?
I get the feeling you are literally a gold seller.
It will be great for me personally because it will allow me to PvP with a lot more of my guildies. How will it affect your gameplay in a negative manner?
Will people somehow stop farming mats for you? Will they no longer form groups with you?
As would I. And it won’t stop at that one feature. It just opens the floodgates. The moment a corporation gives ground, it will be hounding for another feature, and another feature, and another feature and before you know it we have TBC “Classic” Retail 2.0 edition.
A dps switches to tank spec to avoid having to wait for a group.
He sucks as tank.
He doesn’t have the gear, he can’t play the role, he rolls for dps gear and makes the dps who did stay dps have to waste more time trying to gear up
Healing this hypothetical group sucks and isn’t fun and ends up with me not wanting to heal for random groups anymore.
But I guess the one guy that screwed over the group got what he wanted!
I’m not wealthy at all and I’m against it. Crying out loud I am not even close to epic flight on this character. You can project all you want, but if you’re so poor you can’t afford a respec, I can’t see you in the near future affording an epic flying mount either. So either you’re some wealthy sweaty or you’re too dirt poor to sustain yourself. Which is it?
Your story smells of sweaty min-max culture my guy. If he doesn’t have the gear, don’t invite him? If he rolls OS>MS for the instance without saying so beforehand he doesn’t get invited back…
So your whole point is that you would likely have a larger pool of subpar tanks? Like honestly, get a grip. If they’re not geared don’t invite them (you wouldn’t if they were specced without dual spec being in the game anyways, because we know you’re sweaty). Chances are if you came across this same tank without dual spec in the game you would be extremely toxic to him rather than helping him with his rotation (even if he was rolling MS>OS).
The reality is you probably almost never heal for random groups, because you would rather efficiently clear it with your guild.
Please, stop making up stories of other players and speak from YOUR personal experience.
Choices made should matter, not being able to change your spec at the drop of a hat with no effort given encourages people to play together for stuff.
You chose to be a healer and want to farm in the open world? Either have off set gear for dps gear, respec, both, or find a friend who you can heal while they chug through mobs no longer worrying about their hp.
Aoe classes work well for this. Example holy priest finds a warlock and heals the warlock who is now killing 7-10 mobs at a time instead of 2-3. Dotting them and as they stack up putting seed of corruption on them then detonating them with helfire to burn them all down and then lifesaving for mana, all while the healer keeps the lock topped off.
MMORPG involves playing with others, dual spec should not be added until wrath because tbc was designed for people to work together to succeed. Look at heroics to see proof of this, it encouraged bringing a class that was strong at hard CC, a class that is strong at interrupts, a class that is tanks, a class that can heal, and damage was the last concern. Look at the classes themselves for proof as well, boomkins now give strong buffs for others, ele shamans give good buffs to others. It’s designed to want to bring them because they buff others. Tbc classic was designed around people working together.
