That ship has already sailed.
When you unsub they ask you why you’re unsubbing. If enough people say that respec costs and lack of tanks/healers is their reason for unsubbing, Blizzard will introduce changes. Just like they did for same-faction battlegrounds, changes to Alterac Valley queuing, among other things.
Then you’re proving that it isn’t needed.
Obviously barely any players, if any, are unsubbing and saying specifically “It’s because of lack of dual spec”
GG
If Blizzard announces they are adding dual-spec, does that prove it is needed?
Define needed.
That is a hard question my friend.
I’m just curious to see how he considers all the changes blizzard has made as “needed”
Was bnet integration needed? Was layering needed? Was not doing progressive patches need on the exact schedule as TBC needed?
So if you have a crack in your wall, do you repair it, or just tear the entire wall down?
I hate that “Well we have one change, so who cares now” type of idea.
It’s scuffed and it’s the cowards way out. Yeah, we have boosts, it sucks and I hate it, but that doesn’t mean we should just throw our hands up and call it game.
I still want as faithful a recreation as possible, so I don’t want dual spec.
I understand exactly what you’re doing. I was sitting here trying to establish a line between things that are needed and things that aren’t, and it is hard to take a position that is principled and consistent without being yourself forced to give ground to things you don’t want.
This isn’t a crack you can repair and things just go back to how they were, the entire world that wall exists in is different. At which point you adjust the wall.
At which point you adjust the wall.
By which you mean to just tear it down since we don’t have a faithful recreation, let’s just toss as best to faithful as we can out the window.
right?
If we’re going to do that, then yeah man, let’s get dks, unlimited boosts, more store mounts, LFD, break out the old gearscore, etc, since the wall in your eyes is completely irrelevant and can just be adjusted at any time. Who cares it’s a wall full of cracks, with the snap of a finger and some code, the wall doesn’t even exist.
/shrug that is not at all what I meant or said.
Adjust is not a synonym for replace.
Something Like dual spec, did it exist in TBC orignally? No, does it hurt the actual TBC experience? Also no. But does it improve the TBC experience? Yes.

What people want is for Blizzard to address obvious bugs/oversights/gamebreaking mechanics/miserable conditions. They’re not asking for a new game.
The horde wanted horde-vs-horde queues because there is nothing fun about sitting in Shattrath for hours waiting for your queue to pop. Nor is it fun for the alliance who get ganked from air-borne horde who scour outlands looking for alliance levelers to gank between games. The latter also caused many alliance to flee horde-majority servers where the game had become almost unplayable. Nearly half of PvP servers are now single-faction.
Likewise, there is nothing fun about sitting in a group for an hour looking for a tank and not being able to find one. A few hours ago there were three Shadow Lab groups all looking for a tank. My group ended up paying a guy 50g to tank it because we got tired of waiting.

Then I misunderstood you.
I can’t deny Dual Spec. It is, in my eyes, only a benefit.
I want the best recreation we can get.
If we get dual spec, I won’t cry about it, and I will use it.
But I don’t want it though.
bugs
Yes
oversights
Depends
gamebreaking mechanics
Yes, I would like a fixed Kael’Thas before TK drops.
miserable conditions
Yes.

Yeah, I know all this, I’m glad HvH existed, and wish for it back.
I don’t view dual spec as a bug, oversight, gamebreaking mechanic, or miserable condition. It’s not the first three for sure, but we can argue miserable condition.
Is the lack of dual spec taking away hours upon hours of peoples times? I don’t view 100g total respec to be a big deal, gold is plentiful in TBC. I walked into Hellfire with 500g to my name, and made over 20k in a month alone, so I don’t view any gold cost as a punishment, or as a miserable condition.
People can’t farm or pvp? Farming doesn’t need any talents at all, and pvp has bigger issues than players needing to respec.
Idk man, it’s a hard sell for me on that one.
Have they announced they’re adding it though?
It’s really an irrelevant question.
The game didn’t NEED the store mount, but they added it to make some more cash. See how stupid this logic is?

The tank shortage is the inevitable outcome of raids only requiring 2-3 tanks per 25 raiders. If raids required 10 tanks per 25-man raid, there would be tank surplus.
If this affected all classes/specs equally, then it wouldn’t be a problem.
I would also point out that those aren’t MMORPGs. Wow has never been big on the “RPG” aspect of MMORPGs. If you are into that, I suggest you play FF.
WoW has RP servers. I play on one, always have, even though I don’t “RP” in the traditional sense. But I do enjoy RPG elements in games, and I’ve been playing single player RPG’s on PC for 40 years, basically since they were invented.
Regarding FF, unfortunately, because I know it limits me, I prefer Western RPG’s to anime ones. I’ve just never been a fan of the art style. It all looks like Speed Racer or Dragonball Z cartoons to me.
The Dark Souls games, btw, are Western RPG’s, made in Japan.
If it required 10 tanks per 25-man raid, there would be tank surplus.
Yes, this has always been a core issue with the game when talking about tanks.
Dual spec won’t fix it though.
We saw no sign up a let up for tank shortage over any extended period of time during LK, which had more than just dual spec in regards to instances, including LFD itself, cross server, incentives for running said instances, and more… Which still resulted in 20-40 minute queues for LFD.
I understand that at the wee hours of 4:55 am that people will complain about waiting a while for tanks, but I don’t view this as big of an issue during actual playtime hours, as I’ve felt the wait time to be around the same as LK’s LFD tool.
Could just be scuffed for my server though since Mankrik is like 80% Horde.
Dual spec won’t fix it though.
Are you saying that dual-spec won’t help?
