The stages of grief are a myth with 0 scientific support. Baseless… Just like your comment.
lighten up bud, only a year and a half until dual spec!
In all the expansions I’ve played and raided in (all but WoD)… vanilla and TBC have the absolute cheapest combination of consumables / buffs even when you factor in the respec cost with it
The consumables required to raid competitively in future expansions was loads worse to the point where I was genuinely farming to barely be able to keep my head above water economically
I’ve farmed maybe 6 hours total in this expansion and respec 2-3 times a week. And that’s really just herbing when I’m bored
Where are y’all putting your gold? I’m confused. Do you not do the dailies? Did you not do the quests in Outland? Are you not even playing the game? Are you not seeing what recipes you have that you could just buy stuff off the AH and craft and literally double the amount of gold you spent on the investment here and there?
A one time fee would be fine, but I would doubt a lot of people would afford it somehow. If it were 1000g, that is still 10 weeks of respec every week twice a week. And the way people are posting about this, it doesn’t even seem like they have 100g to respec.
The people who really utilize dual spec would respec quite a bit more than 2 twice a week.
I just don’t understand why we have to change something like this in the game though. Yes it’s annoying to put stuff back on action bars etc. Sure it’s annoying that I might need to ensure I PvP Monday - Wednesday to cut costs in respects, but that’s literally how the game was though. Wasn’t the whole point of this thing To reproduce as close to a clone of the old game as possible?
Why was this not a massive deal in vanilla classic? Did I miss something or?
I would wager the bulk of people complaining about this don’t even have the Outland quests done, which is an absurd amount of gold. They don’t craft stuff every time they’re on and put it up on the AH, which takes minutes of your time to generate a lot of gold. Just seems like everyone wants handouts
Like… it’d be nice if dark runes had the same drop rate they used too but they don’t anymore after a patch. But I’m not gonna post on here and ask for them to fall out of the sky… and I probably use more gold on dark runes in raids than half the people in here do respecing, especially if it’s only 2x
It was a big deal, it just took till wrath to get it fixed. And yeah it was massively requested in vanilla classic as well.
For your first idea, addons already provide this feature, anybody who is frequently respeccing already knows this and are using the addons.
I can get behind your second idea, either cap the gold cost at 20-30g or reduce how long it takes for the price to be reduced between respec. Like say it goes down 5g every day, so if you don’t respec for 2 weeks you’re back at baseline respec cost.
Yeah, I know there are addons that do this. I would simply prefer to have them server side rather than relying on the addon. Addons can screw up. Addons could be abandoned. Addons could this that or the other. Server side, it is with my character.
Blizzard simply will not spend development time on something like that when an addon exists that already does it. Especially in Classic.
Maybe. Dev time on storage + coding for this is going to be limited though.
It’s an frivolous addition to the game that wouldn’t make Blizz any money.
The only frivolous extras we’re going to see added are cash shop items like store mounts.
The same goes for Dual Spec in general, they won’t bother with it regardless of what anybody wants unless it makes them money, IE selling it in the cash shop.
IMO it wouldn’t be that far out of character at this point for Blizz, wouldn’t surprise me for a second.
They already expressed interest in exploring dual spec before TBCC even dropped. I am not sure why you think they wouldn’t do the work on this after expressing interest.
Now, they might decide not to pursue it. But that is a decision after exploration and I highly doubt the small amount of effort this would take will be the deciding factor.
Lol they’re telling you what you want to hear.
“Yeah we’re looking into it” AKA doing nothing.
People complained all the way through Vanilla Classic as well, did they get dual spec? No
But sure, keep on believing
Mmhmm. There is no reason for them to not look into it. Again, they can do whatever they want.
Excuse me for not reading fifty posts.
BTW, it’s not a bad idea, I like it. So no, you’ll have to dig up your own salt
Oh, and after scrolling up, I like my rendition the best.
What makes you think that? Dual spec is already part of the code base, as far as we know it’s just disabled in classic it’s not something that has to be redeveloped.
If it was meaningless to begin with then there’s no problem with adding dual talent specialization. Not like it’ll make a difference if a meaningless gold cost is REMOVED.
If it’s meaningless, then it isn’t a problem for it to stay then. You’re the one asking for it to be removed. If it’s meaningless, then there’s no point putting dev time towards it.
It’s coming in Wrath. Accept it and move on.
If it’s meaningless, then it isn’t a problem for dual talent specialization to be added then. You’re the one asking for it to not be added. If gold costs to respec’s are meaningless, then there’s no point putting keeping it in game.
TBCC isn’t TBC. Accept it and move on.

I said I don’t want it because I want a faithful recreation.
If it does get implemented, I don’t care. I’ll use it because I like dual spec, I just want a faithful recreation more.
Talents are still meaningless though when it comes to them being a “meaningful choice” with a “meaningful punishment” for changing.
