^^^ you must have a sad life to spend so much time being upset about this. Go play an era server if you want to live in a time capsule.
Or I could play the fresh batch of era progression servers instead :^)
You have your brand new endless changes seasonal server.
Go play that. Or is it too unenjoyable because of the horrible gameplay changes implemented at the players suggestions?
U can even heal max lvl dungeons in shadow spec lol. It never ceases to amuse me that people think specs are like retail where you HAVE to spec prot or holy to tank or heal
People can also pvp perfectly fine in pve spec.
Everyone thinks they need to be playing 100% optimally at all times. I even saw someone make the argument without dual spec no one would want to tank/heal WC/DM, as if having 5 talent points into the “incorrect” spec makes any difference.
Retail players are utterly insane.
Personally, the core reason I’m against dual spec is that its a necessary gold sink. Some people here have argued against that and how it won’t make a difference a few phases in, but I’m not sure if people are thinking far enough ahead.
We know the servers are progressing to BC, so if everyone gets dual spec sometime late vanilla then one of the most effective and continued gold sinks is gone and irrelevant going into BC, and that means gold inflation rises when one of the biggest gameplay changes comes into effect… flying.
With no proper gold sinks for the higher end of the playerbase, we’ll see an increased amount of people having epic flying early on in BC which drastically changes world PvP, as well as more competitive resource gathering.
Yes, it is undeniable that dual spec is a beloved and convenient feature, but I dont believe it is conducive to the Classic enviroment, even if it would make life easier for some players.
Not to mention that with dual spec, the amount of Need rolls for offspec loot goes THROUGH THE ROOF. People begin to see both of their specs as MS and therefore try to justify need rolls on offspec loot.
Semi hardcore guilds (decent size of the population) also ‘expect’ raiders to put both their dual specs towards raid. For example in WOTLK it was absolutely commonplace to have spec 1 for Ulduar bosses 2, 4, 5, 8, 9 and spec 2 for bosses 3 6 10 etc etc etc. That’s the type of thing that happens with Dual Spec.
Nothing in vanilla (raid wise) is hard enough to require both specs. All dual spec would do is let people do raids and PvP without being punished 50g at a time to do so.
I’ll never understand why people would be against this lol. I get it hurr durr no changes, but we’re way passed that, and this one is a no brainer. Literally just makes you waste less gold on respecs.
I FIGURED IT OUT AFTER I TYPED THAT LAST LINE. THE ANTI DUAL SPEC PEOPLE ARE GOLD SELLERS, AND PEOPLE USING LESS GOLD CUTS INTO THEIR PROFITS!
Just like the anti SWM people who sell WCB for gold that they turn around and RMT.
So why cant they raid in pvp spec?
I plan on playing a warlock primarily to PvP at 60. That spec is a combo of aff and demo. If I tried to pve with that spec it would be borderline useless due to the debuff limit that exists in classic.
Nothing in vanilla (raid wise) is hard enough to require raiding in pve spec.
You’re right. The raids are not hard and can be done in a meme spec if that is how you choose to have fun. That doesn’t change the fact that a large subset of the community would like to raid in a spec that makes sense for that content and then be able to switch to bgs without being punished!
This has no change on gameplay whatsoever.
None.
Nada.
Zilch.
Zero.
This statement is 100% false and is only validated by your blind loyalty to a #no change belief when there are already multiple changes in the game.
You should quit the game.
Delete it.
And go play Minecraft
Preach my friend
As if the parsing culture wasn’t in classic in 2019 lol.
It IS a QOL. As someone with not a lot of play time, I hate wasting my time farming gold to PLAY the game. I heal in Raid and Dungeons, it’s pretty crappy to start farming gold with -50 cause I need to respec to my DPS spec.
Outside of my own little bubble. It is also a QOL, it will add Tanks to the dungeon pools since a lot of people don’t want to Tank as a main spec but will put on a shield to tank a dungeon once in a while.
Another thing is for PVP players. They have to respec at least once a week juste to play the content they want. This is dumb.
And like I said, parsing culture is here and will never leave no matter what Blizz does other than banning addons and making parsing impossible lol. You don’t want to parse, join a guild or a group that doesn’t care about it.
Found the gold seller.
Seems like it’s a major possibility, so… tough luck?
I mean… I literally advocated for changes in that post you’re quoting when I said
A QOL change for respeccing might be reducing the cost or just allowing it to save your bars between specs, with no other changes whatsoever.
So I’m not sure why you’re saying I want no changes.
I think that the most minimally invasive change to solve this issue would be to simply lower the gold cost of respecs without needing to change anything else.
Then people can respec more freely, dual spec is unnecessary, the Vanilla gameplay isn’t affected almost at all, and everybody wins.
Would you have any issue with simply doing that instead of adding dual spec as a compromise to solve this issue?
The most logical compromise is not allowing spec changing inside of instances.
All your worries are gone then.
Easy.
What are the downsides?
