Because that’s how they designed the game. Making it cost as much gold as it does was a developer choice. It’s not like it’s a design limitation like the debuff limit was. So when you change that, it’s a fundamental change to how the developers wanted the game to be. I’ll leave that up to Blizzard, if they want to change it now they can but I think it’s a bit too heavy-handed for classic WoW.
We didn’t even have it in TBC, either. You guys are asking for a Wrath change.
And then they can change it, because just because something was designed one way doesnt mean it came out perfect every single time. That’s another flawed logic.

But we’re all changing specs anyways.
It literally makes no difference.
It’s just an annoyance but the outcome is the same.
So you’d rather annoy players for no logical reason rather than have them enjoy the game more?

Flawed how? Just because you think something is wrong doesn’t mean it’s objectively correct. It’s your opinion, I’m giving mine. Classic was never a perfect game. But the idea here is to keep the charm of the game intact.

When was the chronoboon added?
When was the new pvp ranking system added?
Oh you don’t want to talk about those.

I’m not a no changes person. So you’re barking up the wrong tree. Just because I agree with some changes doesn’t mean I’m okay with all changes.

The Charm in question is a QoL change you just admitted was infact one, and I just debunked your logic as to the fact that you’re arguing over HOW people change specs but not IF they do it.
If a rogue wants to PvE and PvP they will be doing it with or without Dual Spec, so your identity thing makes no sense.
If Dual Spec is in it gives everyone yet another option to stop paying the piper constantly.
You’re ok with everybody able to hit rank 14 and get high warlord gear but having 2 specs is over the line?

I don’t like PvP being a participation trophy but if I’m being honest people have been using bot scripts to get rank 14 in every iteration of classic so whatever. I wasn’t particularly in favor of that change but I’m also not a person that would ever get rank 14 because I don’t have 12 hours a day to play the game.
You danced around my question.
How are you OK with a large number of people getting high warlord gear but not being able to have dual spec?
You realize one is a MASSIVE gameplay change compared to the other, right?
People swap specs anyways, but giving a ton of people high warlord gear is going to directly affect EVERYONE’S game.

I told you that I’m not in favor of it. The fact that everyone can get rank 14 just by playing the game for 30 hours a week takes away from the prestige of being rank 14. I don’t understand this logic that I have to be in favor of no changes if I’m against free dual spec swapping. I already said what I am in favor of which is putting a cap on the gold cost.

But you haven’t even brought a single logical reason for how dual spec actually negatively affects the game.
The fact is everyone hitting rank 14 will affect the game negatively, so why aren’t you protesting that like you are with dual spec?

Man, that is sooooo soy
They should revert it. (Srs)
I’m not even protesting it, if they add it then I’ll be totally okay with it because I don’t care that much. I really don’t. I see the argument from both sides and I hope they find some compromise to satisfy everyone. My suggestion is capping the gold cost. I don’t want to argue anymore about dual spec because that’s not even why I came to the forums.
100% because what’s going to happen is Battlegrounds will have premades of all High Warlords and you will not even be able to kill 1 single person.

You came for my autograph and I understand you’re shy but if you want to add me on Battlenet I’d be happy to arrange it.
No, what I came for was to find out if they’re going to do anything with the debuff/buff limit since they changed it for hardcore, and the hardcore people will be coming over to our server when they die. So it’s kind of confusing for me to see people playing one way on a server that is connected to another. This is another thing that I can live with or without them changing but I would like to get a definitive answer so I can plan accordingly.
I mean the guy knows that a PVP Spec Rogue slightly edges out a PvE Spec rogue in PvP.
He knows a PvE spec rogue edges out a PvP in DPS in a PvE setting…
He admits having Dual Spec would be a QoL change…
BUT! When it comes to having dual spec or not, he’s stuck thinking that PvE Rogue is more likely to stay PvE and the PvP Rogue is more likely to stay PvP, when that is absolutely factually wrong. If those Two rogues want to do the other content, and they know they’re struggling to compete and want to, they will pay to swap.
They should be allowed to obtain Dual Spec and Swap, versus having to pay 50g every swap which makes things a drag but not impossible.

Is this before or after you fist the plague?
If you read what I said you would see that I am in favor of a gold cap that is not so punishing that people just won’t ever respec.
What I’m against is people changing in and out of specs at will. I think the game becomes a bit too much like Wrath of the Lich King at that point.
