I have to cast a five second toggle to use Flight Form and it has no skyriding ability? Log in to Valdrakken, and my Flight Form is now literally a ground mount. This is possibly the dumbest change ever for druids.
i logged in and my flight form was skyriding by default. I was very confused and did some reading and you go to your mounts and toggle something and it works normally. But I did that after I went to Stormwind and then Tanaris so not sure how it’s working in Valdraken.
Lordy, ok. I’ll keep trying.
I’m in Valdrakken, on my druid. Skyriding is working. Static flying is working. The 5 second cast is only for when you’re switching the flying toggle - otherwise it’s still instant going into bird form.
Real sorry you are experiencing issues with it. Seems to be random bugs for everyone, for everything ![]()
It’s so weird, if I toggle it, I have classic Flight Form that works as it always has, but if I switch to skyriding, it’s just like I’m on a ground mount. Going to dump all my addons and see if that works.
You can’t have skyriding mounts and regular flying mounts (including flight form) at the same time from what I understand. Which is stupid in my opinion. I like the dragonriding for flying exactly where I know i want to go for long distances but anything else I like the regular flying. You can’t stop and check your map with dragonriding.
Seems lots are experiencing this with many, if not all, mounts. At this point I don’t think addons are the issue.
Hahaha, that was funny blizzard. Now let me toggle flight form separately from mounts.
blizzard aren’t known for making good choices for the playerbase.
The best part of flight form was being on a skyriding mount for speeding across the zone, then switching to flight form for accuracy. That’s now impossible and flight form has lost a lot of utility and fun. Flight form isn’t a mount, it’s an ability, and shouldn’t inherit mount settings.
I’m hoping one day we’ll get a glyph to make it normal flight when mounts are set to skyriding. Or the opposite, a mount that has skyriding regardless of mount setting so I can keep mounts and flight form in normal flight.
As a druid main, this significantly reduces WoW’s appeal for me. Not enjoying this change at all. Nor am I happy with the total lack of acknowledgement from Blizzard on this issue.
If you do not have steady flight unlocked for an area, swapping to steady flight makes all of your mounts ground mounts. Similarly, if you have it set to sky riding and the mount does not have that capability (like the ghost otter), it becomes a ground mount.
I’m loving the realism of how flight requires trial and error. Pretty next level, Bliz.
This change is so unpleasant I don’t know how else to say it—commenting here for Blizzard to see another unhappy Druid.
I wonder if the Druid Dev team even had a say in this.
I totally agree! My Druid crow/bird was my favorite for being nimble and getting around easily! Didn’t care about speed just the flexibility it offered. This skyriding makes me dizzy and constantly having to check my map to see where I am going. Bliz should have made it a option to keep as is!!!
Sure you can, just get high enough, have your camera on an angle just enough so you dont lose speed, then you have all the time in the world to check map and other stuff.
Why does Bliz have to screw things up like this for players. My Druid crow/bird was my favorite for being nimble and getting around easily! Didn’t care about speed just the flexibility it offered. This skyriding makes me dizzy and constantly having to check my map to see where I am going. Bliz should have made it a option to keep as is!!!
It’s a very bad change. Druid forms are part of their fantasy. They were never mounts and shouldn’t be treated as mounts now.
I doubt they are listening, but I would like for them to come out and tell us WHY they changed Druids to work this way
That normally tends to make me less good at most things, especially map reading. One time we were so high; we opened the map to navigate and next thing you know we crossed the great sea. like, how the hell???
