I ended up buying it and a friend flies me everywhere. It’s kinda annoying though, can’t do anything on my own.
I was being sarcastic.
Everyone in the world not catering to your needs doesn’t make the community toxic. Demanding others cater to your needs does make you toxic though.
Honestly, this confuses me. The tricks are simply: Look your character mouselook up when you surge upward for extra altitude… dont stay “flat” but slightly descending… and turn in a circle to stay in an area…
Get thrill of the skies as your first power and you basically stay in the air indefinitely. I grabbed all 25 without landing except for the one thats in the roof of the tower where you cant just swoop in and out. That was the only one i needed to land for and it was mostly that i couldnt see it.
That’s what I struggled with. I got all the glyphs now. But day 1 no matter how much I moved my mouse/tried to look up, my dragon would stay looking flat. I actually couldn’t get it to look nose to the sky. I can now for the most part, but every now and then I don’t know what happens but I can’t seem to get going. It’s easier to stay up once you get into the air, but unless you get the speed to keep up vigor, you can fizzle out. I notice some zones are easier then others. I still want my shop mounts and regular flying though.
Sooo… you want to wait until patch 10.2 for pathfinder then? Having your old flying mounts back now was never an option. It’s this or walking on the ground, you realize?
Why do we even need a path finder? Why can’t they be available now? ALL they have to do is make it so you can’t get the glyphs for Dragonriding unless you’re on your dragon so they can’t be cheesed. If people want to fly their old reliable slow mounts, how does that hurt anyone? Why do they have to jump through hoops to earn it? Dragonriding is already flying, no need to time gate old flying.
wow some of you people are still going on about this uh
Right. Please don’t take my above post as criticism of your ability by the way, I reread it and realize how it sounded. For me, this was a pretty quick transition to figure out how to do well at it. The biggest thing was the aim up while surging up trick to get a little extra altitude, but it’s important to realize and remember not everyone is the same and some things which are easy to me might be hard to others. (Example, we all have that “ez” mechanic in a dungeon we routinely fail that everyone laughs at heh.)
Glad you got your glyphs and its better now. I am personally happy they force folks into the dragon riding to start, but mostly because I enjoy f orcing functions. I am sad however that my classic DK undead drake doesn’t count as a dragon riding mount in DF though.
One day, they realise you should make an expansion where you can fly normally from day 1…
Is this your first Expansion? Side Quests have been a thing for over a decade now.
I don’t have all the glyphs but I’m finding it useful. No more fall damage from jumping down a cliff, just hop on the dragon and walk off the edge! I usually just use my ground mount but I enjoy just roaming around anyway. It’s useful for high jumps as well. Thinking of the dragon as a slowfall or high jump instead of ‘flight’ helps feel less disappointed.
It’s part of the campaign. If you followed campaign through Waking Shores you get it.
Have to put points in the tree for each toon. There should have been a count on the right side if the Dragonriding UI.
Dragonriding is butt easy, if you can’t figure it out and don’t all mythic 0 yesterday then you got carried
The apex glyph can be annoying. But once you get it the rest are easy. I never thought I would like Dragonriding this much. I hope it’s a long term addition tbh.
So give it a month to get used to? How is that good game design?
Someone can give you a ride up there. Ill get thenlownglyphs first. Still better than walking.
I like dragonriding.
Are you isingba mouse?
Dragonriding is so addictive. I don’t even care about leveling my toon. I just want to get gold in every race.
Are you nuts? This is the most convenient thing they’ve done for mobility in launch of any expansion. Your regular flying is coming, in the same time frame as it has in virtually all the other expansions.
