You’re right. I still hate it and stopped playing though. Because it’s not a matter of not being used to it. It’s a matter of me thinking it’s a terrible mechanic that killed the fun of the game for me.

I love Dragon riding, and i am glad they made it. It will make this game much more fun especially just flying around mindlessly. I can see some support for motion sickness people, similar to the potion in grimrail depot.
The explainers are half-right, like most things MMO they sell you something broken so you can relive the rags to hero fantasy over again. So of course the real toy that you bought is hidden behind some progression system, you need to get all the glyphs. Even more realistically, just the fact that they moved one of the dumb game systems out of a straight raid progression payout and into one of the zones is like a historical watershed moment for world gameplay. We also got professions, but that has a straight into raid progression goal.
So you fall into one of two random categories I just made up 1) you find dragonriding objectively fun/ not fun and you play the game based on your preference 2) you realize everything about MMOs is some wonky gamification of other genres that are 20 years ahead and the kind of luck systems involved probably wouldn’t even be legal in online casinos. The only payoff is knowing you were part of some internet experiment that helped bring a giant tech company to power and maybe skynet will spare you 
OH MY DEAR! Try it with 65years and MS/Optical Neuritis too! This is a nightmare for folks who are longtime/solid and decent players and need to just GET SOMEWHERE! LOL!!! And then to also have to deal with all the KARENS that are so self-absorbed that they can’t see the end of their nose. But Time will win our, a TOON never gets old,…, REAL LIFE ,…, you do! I know why I do not, it is like driving my friend ICONIC EV, I always had that NO JUICE feeling or will I get there, I just need to get to the battle, the quest, it’s like French food, I need to eat not look down at a work of art that barely covers the plate.

Wow’s always involved travel. If used properly dragon riding will get you to your destination faster than regular flying.

I also got to thinking, a bigger part of it is probably that I have changed. I’ve realized you can’t relive the glory days as they say. Even when some friends came back and we played in MoP and and again when some of the old crew reunited for Legion it just wasn’t the same like back in burning crusade or wrath. Lightning strikes once maybe twice and you just gotta enjoy it for what it is and what it was. No hard feelings to Blizz at all. Lots of great memories and cheers to those making new ones!!

This is 100% true. I spent years playing wow chasing those early years feelings only to be disappointed. Once I realized that will NEVER happen it was easier to move on, play other things and take wow with the attitude of if I don’t like something in the game enough I’ll just stop playing it until it changes.
That being said I am looking to make some new memories with DF.

I can sympathize with motion sickness people, but everyone else has no excuse not to learn one of the best (and easiest) systems in the game. It’s SO damn simple and intuitive.
I actually hope they get rid of regular flying and completely replace it with this.

Actually having been on WoW since it’s first day and being from a German Jewish background yet always been Pagan, It has pretty much been the working gameplan in this and other games. THEY CALL THE SHOTS and like mindless sheep the population follows. So actually you have your dates off, it’s like 1938 Germany,…, I fear just returning to WoW the best/or not, is yet to come. For me I’m returning to Shadow land- this new dragon stuff is more fashion that real old school WoW. You hear the KARENS saying it makes you better player, really how, it help you learn your class skills? no, it’s just a game with in the game, so it should be made to be just that, a choice ad leave the rest of the population alone.
