Do you want to see 10 druids stacked and following each other herbing/mining? because that’s what will happen with regular flying.
gathering for non druids and for herbalists that don’t want to use the skygolem is better with dragonriding, by virtue of 1) getting to the node faster 2) being able to gather without dismounting.
So you can get from A to B faster, and you can gather without dismounting with dragonriding. Yes, druids and skygolems can gather or herb without landing, and old flying lets you AFK more comfortably. What else does old flying do better?
I would highly doubt it since druids flying better .pick better than most but to even that out i would say yes.but it is self defeating the druid character by it,after all it is a druid.
Btw, we can’t hoover any more since the last patch.
Im reading these opinions and it doesn’t make sense to me.
I udnerstand the issue with not being able to hover, but everything else just seems overblown.
Dragonriding is easy af. You either refuse to understand how it works or you are just inept at games in general.
Im not noob shaming or anything, its just that the majority of the playerbase has adopted this feature with no problems, we love it. These are more upsides to it than downsides and there is your whole argument
Adapt or wait it out and hope that Blizz won’t keep it in the next expansion
I loved killing them in warmode BFA
It was so awesome during 8.3, obliterating them in mass genocide cause they were just using weak gear and a decked out demon hunter in Nyalotha gear was just one shotting them for free honor
I don’t know bots inside-out, but I do know autopilots. Above and beyond what a current flight bot needs, you would want a controller for speed, and your waypoint logic would have to take turn radius into account.
Algorithms for these controllers exist within the open-source flight sim community.
So I disagree about how much harder it would be, and about availability.
That’s on me then. The few classes I have are locked out of all skills while dead.
Wish they had let us use dragonriding then, because the slow flying ghost dragon is just awful.
Edit: No, I lie. I forget that Blizzard made Glide an ability you can press if you want rather than just pressing spacebar when you die, so I guess I have one. But when I had said abilities I was thinking more along the lines of things like Blink for Mages.
They are going to keep it for as long as they can generate the money from it. yet, they have stated they hate flying so dragonriding is a form of flying ,they hate it.
Mage can’t blink while dead we can’t do anything but run.
Yeh, I know. That’s why I used it as the “why I was thinking no one could use any abilities when dead” example. I mained Mage for years. Drove me nuts when I couldn’t use Blink since you get so used to basically hitting it on cooldown.
So go fly ten feet to a safe spot and go afk
Who cares, you can mine without dismounting
Press spacebar with thrill of the skies.
skill issue
skill issue.
get your glyphs
literally the only legit thing you said in this litany of QQ
There’s a HUGE list of datamined changes to the mounts we’ve been collecting to allow for dragon riding style flight with them AND a toggleable buff to switch between “static” and “dynamic” flying styles coming in a future patch. Calm down.
Again, they’re expanding dragon riding to all mounts eventually
I just wish they’d toggle regular flying so threads would swap from “dragonriding sucks!” to “flying is slow!”.
Because he’s hating on DR and, here’s the important part, not even doing it right. Dude’s talking about DR as if he’s not got glyphs and/or doesn’t understand how to maintain Thrill of the Skies. A lot of his complaints go away if he learns how to dragon ride, and most of the others will go away in a future patch when DR is spread to all flying mounts and the static/dynamic system is put in place.

Dragonriding feels much more like I’m actually flying, not swimming through the air. It is realistic, when I nosedive and my dragon brings it’s wings in to become more aerodynamic and I pick up speed it feels awesome. I find myself flying to some dungeons even if I have my port up simply because travel is fun now.
-
Flight actually feels FAST now. 310% static speed is the past. Scaling speed going from 0-810% speed is so much better.
That’s pretty much it. Most people don’t care that they can’t AFK above a herb node and they aren’t struggling to control their mount and getting lost when playing with friends.
Don’t hold your breath.
Blizz wishes to thank your for the step by step outline to guide them on nerfing regular flying so they can force Dragonriding forward.
I feel you. Dragonriding shouldve been optional from the jump. I wouldve been more interested if it had actually been flight forms for our toons, rather than a recreation of an ability we already had. Ppl that complained about classic flying being “boring” means you didnt have professions or didnt gather mats to sell on the AH. Classic flying was awesome for zone farming mats.
The funnier responses are from ppl telling you “get more glyphs…” how is that a solution when to get them you have to engage in the very thing you dont like in the first place?? “I dont like guns…” “Buy more bullets…”
But yeah im not a fan, i havent really played DF content but probably will when classic flying comes back, i could care less about a customizable dragon mount that doesnt match my toon tbh and i dont want to have to pay THAT much attention to flying, stressing that im going to crash land in the middle of some mobs somewhere, then have to wait on some vigor bubbles to make an escape, foh with that. Not sure how these dragonriding mechanics translate to the flying engineer created mounts, my rocket, mech or cotper is tired?? Gtfoh lol
actually, I don’t.
buying flying at max level always seemed popular.
i remember having me a grand old time farming saronite in icecrown to afford my epic mount. If you were on tlord horde around 2008-2009 you’d probably see me chattin up a storm in general while riding around on that slow as heck 60% wind rider. Somehow i doubt people would really appreciate it to have to grind several hours to days to afford flying on one char these days. Though i’m certainly not opposed to trying it out again!
well, that was epic flying, I killed thousands of demons in Blades Edge to get mine.
mined a bit in WG on classic WotLK and got ganked by a BE pally a few weeks ago.
good times !
