Dragonriding is Awful

I can’t hover above any enemy and go afk.

I can’t hover above a mining/herbal node.

If I fly down to get mining/herb, I can’t get back up to where I was. So mining/herb is cancelled.

I can’t fly up. Seriously. I can’t just go straight up to a quest hub if I need to. For 15 years I just held spacebar and went straight up. It was beautiful.

I can’t stop midair and look at anything beautiful. I can’t admire the game. When I’m flying 10,000 mph, if I occasionally see something pretty, going back and finding it is impossible. Even if I do, I’m out of flying circles.

Questing is a nightmare. Fly 100 yards this way to click on object. Whoops I missed it. Fly again to reach object. Now two flying circles are empty. Just because I miscalculated where a quest object was.

Playing with a friend is a nightmare. If we fly in opposite directions on accident and use up too many circles then we just have to land on the ground, wait for our circles to fill back up, and then try to find each other. Huge time loss

Dragonriding simply makes some people sick.

Mounts are cancelled. Collector of mounts? Cancelled. Rare mounts that took years of attempts? Can’t use them. Mount offs for fun? Dead. The whole point of playing WoW (for some people) is collecting and showing off mounts. Cancelled.

Veldraken city hub = players all with the same mounts. No freedom of expression. No individuality. No beautiful color palette since all are the same. No new players saying “wow what is that mount? I have to get that mount!” Nope. New players and old players all have the same mounts.

Can we please just have regular flying back so we can fly slowly and admire these new beautiful zones?

If someone wants to fly slow, they should be able to

Just started playing friend. This is the returning/new player experience. Feel free to explain how I’m wrong. If there are ways to get old flying back I’d love to hear it. Sincerely

100% u be right, new flying is terrible when new. You have to go to every zone and collect the vigor things which makes dragon flying usable. However, if you’re mining and riding very fast you can still run out of vigor which is really annoying. So yea, it’s a shadow dragon flying isn’t regular flying, but with the bonus of being able to zoom around using vigor. Both flying types combined would make it supreme.

No ways currently however before downing on the system I reccomend making sure you have all the glyphs and level the center branch of the talent tree filled.

Having those boons make a huge difference in recovery time after herbing/mining or stoping for a quest.

There are glyphs you can earn/buy that give you new looks for your dragons as well as new colors.

Still no way to Afk though.

Bot prevention

Dragon riding talents, you stick with 3 vigor is actually a personal problem

It’s weird you say this but don’t have every exploration achievement

Control your movement better stop playing on a laptop and using the touch pad

Whelp buddy system

Luckily for you, they are trying to get a way to use old mounts set up for dragon riding plus you have customizations for dragon riding mounts to begin with

My dude you’re just baiting at this point

Half the people in valdrakken are either on brutosaurs or yak mounts

We had dragon-riding since day one which is significantly better than nothing. We usually don’t get to fly this early in an expansion and the previous expansions have had flying locked behind ridiculous questing and rep grinds anyway. I prefer regular flying but it is only in the Dragon Isles that I have to dragon-ride so it isn’t that big of a problem.

I’m glad YOU like dragonriding.

We are three returning players and WE hate it.

I just hope Blizzard comes across this kind of feedback and let’s us toggle off dragonriding.

Give it time to grow on you.

I had a bad first impression too and it took me a couple of weeks to get used to it. But it won me over in the end.

You’re wrong. Like, your points of complaint are objectively wrong. You can do most of the things you say you can’t. Other points are your own fault, and not the fault of Dragonriding in the slightest - seriously, blaming the system because your partymate went in a different direction AND mismanaged the resource?

You also don’t know what the term “canceled” means.

Is there really an explanation deserved here? You do not like it, but I absolutely love Dragonflying and it is perhaps the best part of the expansion! I’ll pay money for more content like this! They will bring back slow flying eventually and it should remain slow, cumbersome, mindless, uninteresting, and what do they call it - Static? Sure you can hover, ok fine. I learned how to fly, stop on a dime, turn and zoom off or coast along, if you want to put the effort in. If you don’t I guess that is why the forum is here for you to complain, so complain LOL! A lot of people absolutely love dragonflying that so much they’re bringing to all of Azeroth. Give us breath weapons for aerial combat, yay! We still mount collect, so it is BS you saying that people don’t with your 381 mounts. And individuality, pfffftt! finding customizations to your dragon is work and rewarding, seeing what people do. You do not like it. A ton of us love love love it, probably more.

Dragonriding is like the only good thing going for this xpac so you should probably just cancel your sub now.
