It’s not bad ,once you get mining and herbalism up ,dragonriding becomes easier with practice but yeah,it is a challenge .
I still don’t do racing.
I have to see it to believe it,it’ll come after the fact,which is too late for anything .

Dragonriding is awesome
I dunno, I like dragonriding.
One of the very few breaths of fresh air for this expansion was that I -wasn’t- forced to run around on foot or on a mount for months….slow as can be….because they refused to give us flying until much later.
Instead about 30 mins in I’m told about dragonriding and given the reigns. Beautiful.
Yeah it can at times be a bit annoying but everything has a few issues.

With few exceptions, I’ve been able to land somewhere nearby and do the same thing. Hovering makes it definitely easier (and don’t get me wrong: I’d like a DR hovering option), but PAFK (Proximity AFK) is still possible as is. You just gotta be more mindful about it.

Legit my dps deopped by like 10% and positioning and survival dropped by like 50%. I kept looking for the touchpad and remembering “oh right mouse!”
Ill just use laptop for ever for wow.
Honestly, while this slowed the bots down, I don’t think it stopped them. Vigor management adds a degree of complexity to the “autopilot” control loop, but is that problem truly intractable? I doubt it.
And what the cutting-edge bots do will filter down to the botting community as a whole, sure as the sunrise. If that hasn’t already happened, it’s about to.
Dragonriding never stop the bots you seen the proof in that it only stopped the lower collectors from competing with them.

I think there was a narrow window between DR going live and the first bots that could use it. Which hardly matters now, since that window is six or seven months gone.

The only advantage is higher speed, for everyday/daily-driver usage regular flying is still better

You’re right, they only thing dragonriding is better is speed mostly for long travel as for everything else regular flying is better.

First, nothing will ever full stop bots, shy of the game dying and becoming unprofitable. Blizzard can only hinder, or attempt to make them more obvious.
That said, it’s not just Vigor, it’s the variable speed that comes with it, and turn radius; previous flying is literally just aim and move at X speed. That is child’s play to code compared to managing resource, speed, and turning, as well as possible decision making based on those factors. Impossible to code? No, of course not. But much, much harder and less availably so. There’s a reason we’ve seen straight up fly hacks in the open world for the first time in like a decade.
I agree, to some degree this is an inevitability. But I also don’t think it’s going to be as widely available as omni-movement was/is. I do think this has largely had a positive impact that shouldn’t be rolled back, even partially, by throwing the problem back in the mix.
There wasn’t a replacement for it back then. They tried to remove it for the sole purpose of being economical with design. WoD was the expansion where devs put as little effort as possible.
DR isn’t just about being restricted to the ground, it’s an improvement for flying, making it into gameplay.
I haven’t seen any news regarding flight and DR recently, so I don’t know what they are going to do.

Hmm,I wonder if it wasn’t for dragonflight zone being so larger would theyeven considered dragonriding in the old zones since they hated flying to begin with.
Honestly the game would be better if they could swap everything to dragonriding only. If they had this tech in BC it’s what we would have gotten.
