The people that keep flagging these threads must be seething lol.
I don’t believe my post has in any way detracted from female representation. As I said I think gender neutral stories can coexist. I think FF14 does a great job in that regard. Powerful male and female characters not having to battle for screen time or representation.
I would say this though, that even though a majority of storylines featured women this expansion, I feel bad still because the writing was still bad for women as well compared to other expansions. My wife and I both found the story disinteresting due to the writing, where expansions like BFA could at least keep attention.
So my opinion is that in actuality, it was bad for everyone, but especially bad for men with poor representation and if they were present they were presented in a mostly negative or they were the villain manner.
It’s cool right now to make males look at bad as possible…if you look at Hollywood it’s especially cool to make white men look bad unless they are gay.
This is the world the left has created when you preach about hate while being exactly what you’re preaching against.
It’s just awesome…
Unless you’re Liam Neeson
sir, we don’t use words like ‘‘male’’ here, it doesn’t exist, its body type 1 and 2. thank you and stay tuned for the new blizzard policy
Bro if it was male focused, why did it seem like Sylvanas was the main character for like 6 years?
Tings don’t always need to be balanced over da short term. You can flip ten heads in a row, but dat don’t mean ya got an unfair coin.
Excuse me! GD is a No Man’s Land!!!
Thank you!!!
M’am, I wouldn’t say it was Sylvanas focused. Not only, anyways. It was definitely Anduin and Saurfang in BfA too. For SLs it was also Uther, the Jailer, Anduin again and whatshisface. The dude in chains.
could it be that people who are so widely represented ALL the time are feeling what everyone else who ISN’T, feel like on a regular basis? GASP!
This is why representation matters, boys
All we need is more zappy boi in our lives.
0.0977% chance, probably not the best example
This is part of my point…
Anduin in chains and being brain dead controlled by the Jailer isn’t exactly a heroic cheer point.
Uther : mentally broken and depressed fighting ghosts of the past. Initial bad guy on the other team.
Jailer: man bad guy
Saurfang: emotional wrestling and in jail for most of his story line, defeated and one shot by op female character.
Men want role models and heroes to fight with and along side and cheer for just as much as everyone else.
I don’t mind emotional complexity and depth and not everything has to be axes to heads, but we haven’t exactly been headed in a balanced direction.
If anything is getting worse and right before a new xpac launch.
Granted it’s already done and built.
Outstanding gif choice to reply ratio
As long as you buy me a Coke and keep me company, cool.
Unless you’re any one of the many straight white guys who aren’t. I mean if you ignore all of them in order to make some weird extremist political opinion appear valid, sure.
We have one, his name is Anduin and people in this forum rip on him all the time. This is why we can’t have nice things.
Who aren’t what?
Wow could have nothing but female characters for 12 years and it would barely even things out over the long haul.
Remember when Chris Metzen said that Warlords of Draenor was going to be a boy’s trip, and that Aggra was staying home?
A lot of us remember that.
It’s going to be fine. We’ll always want and need male characters. But it doesn’t have to be a locker room.
