Dragonflight Story and Representation

I didn’t really feel there was at least balanced male representation in dragonflight. I’m all for strong female character representation, but I think the scales were a little off balance for this xpac:

Kalecgos ? Told us to go help the Tuskarr and they had female chieftain.

Ohnaran planes also matriarch society.

Nozdormu was bad male and so Chromie was in charge.

Wrathion and Sabellion were comical stooges always bickering with each other.

Ebyssian was helping Emberthal get her groove back.

Malfurion was punted to the shadowlands to help the three sisters of the dream get their tree planted.

And any moles underground could just be considered stinky boys.

Elemental dragons: the two males also bad, only girl is good.

And now Genn gives up the crown to Tess, because he’s mentally broken.

I mean, I guess, Khadgar showed us where to get into the boat?

I hope for the writers going forward. Please make more storylines balanced between the sexes.

You had 9 eras of WoW that was male dominated.

You’ll be ok with this one xpac of ladies.

Edit: Gonna put this here because people seem to be SO OFFENDED that I dare to point out the game has always been male dominated in the important character department until DF came out.

There is no agenda to my post and I’m simply pointing out the numbers. I don’t care that the game has had mostly male characters front and center. Most of my favorite characters in the WoW universe are male.

Almost like it’s a monarchy and she’s his successor. Weird!

This is a slippery slope for bad character writing.

If you treat the wow storyline post-Legion as terrible fan fiction, you might enjoy it more. Thats what I do.

Problem isnt gender.

Problem is these characters all mostly suck and are boring

BFA Jaina storyline I actually enjoyed. Nothing felt overly done or forced. You can show women go through their own paces and struggles without having to sideline a male to do it.

Bwomsamdi, Rhastakan, and Telanji were also pretty well put together.

No, it’s not the characters’ fault, but logically, it’s the people, who write the story. They could just as well make them interesting. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t happen.

Id argue bwomsamdi was very interesting and written well, with great voice acting and a cool lair and thematic zone as well.

I dunno, I guess he was fine. If I’m honest, no character in this game has truly convinced me. Some I find better than others, but the bar is set quite low in wow.

Dont ppl know wow is actually historical found footage?

And here we go…

I’m not going to speculate. I’m just pointing out that for 9 eras of WoW the story has mostly focused on male characters and that the OP will live if one xpac, so far, focuses on the ladies.

“we’ve had problems with equality, therefor we need to have the same problem but the other way”
That doesn’t actually solve anything you know, you just substituted 1 problem for another instead of resolving the problem.

I guess its easy to make this argument when you just dismiss everything that proves you wrong.

For example, Wraithion and Sabelon being stooges…come on

Dude, Im FAR right. FARRRR right. lmao. Nothing in this game has irritated me yet except for Ions control issues. lol.
Take a deep breath. Relax. Go do something else if the game is triggering.
