That is because they are imagining it. Substitute reality with runaway imagination. The whole black dragon clan thing was a bro-scapade. Tyr = bro. MC time guy = bro. Plenty of bros doing bro things, bro-ily.

It’s just the pendulum effect. This happens with all societal changes. It swings way too far to the other side in a desperate attempt to “un-do” the past as if it’s just a big one-time effort. No. Real change takes time. And the pendulum will eventually settle itself to a new steady state. Same thing is happening in movies and such. And of course it’s uncomfortable, because humans generally hate change of any kind.

Just be patient, let it play itself out, and we’ll all be better for it in the long run. Just stop focusing on it for a while and it won’t seem so huge. Mountain/molehill, and so on.

Just want to point out that this is the Dragon Isles, and Alexstrasza was the Dragon Queen in the ancient past as well as today. It makes sense that the many societies that grew from this island would be matriarchal by following the dragons’ example (be it intentinally or subconciously).

Ironically, it is actually sorta mysoginist that Blizzard cannot write female characters to be interesting without turning them into raging comical a-holes like Sylvanas.

Blizzard makes all the main characters women and Blizzard makes all the main characters boring kinda feels lie that is how they see them.

Can’t have interesting female characters, because someone might get upset if they do anything interesting that anyone could take offense to.

Pfft, let women do stupid things too.

Hold up a moment. Why is this argument acceptable? I mean I don’t really care about the state of Dragonflight, even if the OP does have a point, but why is the argument of “We had lots of male dominated expansions, time for female dominated expansions” an acceptable argument? That’s like saying dogs have been man’s best friend for centuries, it’s now cats turn, or cake has always been the traditional birthday food, it is now time for birthday pie, or other more political examples I may imply but will not say.

Can we not just have some decent balance instead? Can’t we find a middle ground? Why must everything be a pendulum, swinging backwards and forwards, always rushing towards one extreme or the other? If we keep pushing this logic, we’ll just be right back here again in another 50 years, give or take.
